  1. Absolutely buzzing. Billy starts tonight according to sportsound. Great to be in the transfer news and not bemoaning a lost talent.
  2. The positive from yesterday was the point and clean sheet. There were few defensive mishaps we got away with but maybe that's the break we've been missing. I get RF targeting top six if we aim too low and miss we'll be in the mire. We are needing some ugly wins on the board but it's not too late to get them.
  3. we got battered (not footballing wise) but quite a few of those county players wouldn't have looked out of place in Rio at the rugby 7's. Tactically we were maybe too kick and rush sometimes. Couple of players maybe didn't have their best game but I'm not pushing the panic button yet. I'll wait til September.
  4. Impressive 1st 45 much better tempo and drive throughout and another day a win

    Yogi

So is that gardening leave Yogi is on? Not too fussed about departure. Came away from last home game totally bored. We won 4-0 but it was dull for looong spells.
  6. Lot's of what if's which become irrelevant if we beat dundee on Saturday...I do hope ICTFC officials have reserved clubs position though. Some our SPFL counterparts have made mountains out of much smaller molehills.
  7. Game was petering out and I was starting to question tactics. Storey off Danny Williams leading line?. It was dull for parts but Roberts goal was a peach. Draper and Tansey put in a shift. In spells so did vigurs. Mutombo probably needs to work harded got booked for a lazy challenge and got hooked. Roberts and Polworth made an impact when they came on. Polworth worked his socks off. And Hughes looked alright in cameo as target man up top. Q/f here we come.

    Dundee raid?

And Carl Tremarco in this stable too!
  9. Mmmm not sure he wouldn't be interested Stirling O and while I respect how Mcinnes has improved aberdeen I wouldn't trust thim as far as i could throw him. Like it or not Aberdeen are one of the biggest clubs in Scotland there must be a buzz/attraction for a pro running out in front of circa 10k every home game.
  10. Pele-attack philosophy Robertson - dunno Brewster - the PLAYER/manager Christie - put him to stud..see if we can get anothet £500k for the club coffers. Butcher - high media profile Hughes- the ability to mime tactics from the technical area
  11. Next week the Tansey about turn.
  12. If Aberdeen had offered £400k I'll bet Greg Tansey would have been an Aberdeen player. All the stuff about release clauses being honoured etc stinks of dodgy dealings.
  13. Somtimes when you try and do things on the cheap it doesn't work out. Come back in the summer with the purse strings open. ;-)
  14. Fon Williams Raven Warren Devin Tremarco Tansey Draper Polworth Roberts Wlliams/Vigurs Storey Assuming Vincent still injured
  15. Well looks like we got away with it. Will Tansey be leaving in the summer with another winners medal in his pocket, his stock even higher and commanding the right fee? Definately off, imo especially now that everyone knows the release clause and will be watching. I'd trade him a free transfer for some more Scottish cup glory.
  16. I'm worried. Still too long to go. Only comfort is I think Aberdeen are too cheap to come up with the dosh.
  17. Think either stv or BBC confirmed Hughes has signed.....correction it's williams too much bus ban excitement getting me confused
  18. Recognising that without refs our game might be stuck. But spfl pay £840 a game plus mileage so central belt refs get £1000 per game to come to Ictfc. At that rate refs need to recognise they're being very well compensated and take criticism on the chin. The answer is for them to get better at their job.
  19. All we need is 11 gary warrens - problem solved. At the game today Tremaco took a sore one and Yogi was telling at him to get moving again and he was clearly toiling a bit but doing his best (poor bugger). Then Mutombo gets tackled and rolls around slapping the ground sure sign serious injury? Nope...magic sponge then right as rain...not good.
  20. Tansey and draper for me. Although the comparison with last seasons goals conceded really highlights our lack of a consistent solid back 4 due to injuries. Too many late slip ups this season dropping points.
  21. Apparently a pay what you can ticket was bought for tuppence which was just about the right price for often dull and slow football. On the back of the Stirling game it was a long boring afternoon. Miles storey was isolated and not supported from midfield enough. Oh well...another point in the bag.
  22. I think there is more to this story. Or I have I just become programmed to be too cynical and quiz what I'm being fed. Feels like lazy journalism with media just reporting what's been announced. What, why, who, where?Seems like no-one with the opportunity bothered to probe a bit more. Are the shares really worth £500,000? With fan ownership on the football agenda just now could a group be mustered to gobble these up or is it already a done deal? Could probably write a book of questions. I hope that the hospice benefit from this but I'm not sure at the moment.
  23. Enjoyed that tonight. Much more solid shape with players back in natural positions. Worked hard pressing when not on the ball. And a clean sheet is always welcome. Now we just need draws all round in the SPL tomorrow to gain some ground on everyone.
  24. Not good today. I think we tried to be way too clever in distribution and just seemed to always end up giving the ball away before it went anywhere worth watching. Both Hamilton goals came from ICT mis-passes. We're not creating nearly enough clear cut chances to justify the cheap possession loss and resultant goals we're shipping. While 2nd goal was a breakaway, it looked like Fon williams completely misjudged it with an OCT defender on longridge he came rushing out and was instantly left in no mans land for an easy finish. Would like to see it on tele again. For first 20 mins or so I thought ok Lopez is coming onto a game but he faded out- needs to work much harder when not on ball. Mutumbo can be exciting and pacey but just doesn't seem to be a finisher. Too many seemed lacklustre even with a few mins to go, still too much sideways passing and not enough desire to try and penetrate. Substitutions must be as Hiro said above "message to board" but with 5-10 mins to go I'd have blooded at least one of our young guys. On a positive note...at least we'll always have Hampden 2015.
