  1. Foran and Eric should have stayed in at half-time. I could see that from where I was sitting. When in became clear that Queen's were going to 'emphasise' every challenge in the second half (see Eric's collision with one of the hulking centre-halves - I was looking for the grassy knoll) they should both have been hooked there and then. I disagree about the cards. He let a couple of agricutural tackles go - indeed Foran could have been carded a tackle earlier - and then became very pernickety. He then eased up again (I though Eric was going for the incident above) before carding anything and everything from the Foran second yellow onwards. A firm hand early on might have kept emotions in check. Then again, maybe he was a useless tool who couldn't run a bath.
  2. Too right. Foran and Eric should have stayed in at half time. May I suggest signing a T-800 terminator for the rematch?
  3. Didn't see what happened with Rooney as I was at the other end of the ground in the main stand, but I could see TB was livid. Regarding Duncan, the ref was right in front of me, and Granty and Duncan were telling him in no uncertain terms that Duncan hadn't been booked before. Malpas and some of the players also tried to tell the linesman the same thing, but to no avail. A draw was probably a fair result, as we did very little before the goal. We could then have had another, but Queen's came back into it. It wasn't the early bookings that caused the problem, the ref was just random. He let some early stuff go then got the cards out and then put them away again. Queen's were pretty cute at trying to suck us into stuff when they transgressed - Eric's booking was a good example of this. Also the play-acting in the second half when Eric tackled their players was a joke. The ref was so far out of his depth he needed water-wings. I hate to think what could happen if they let that clown ref an old firm match.
  4. If mouthing at the ref was the benchmark, it would have been three a-side by the end yesterday! (no, make that 3 v 2)
  5. That fat **** Chisholm had been complaining about Butcher before. There was an incident where Queen's no 4 mouthed off at Butcher and made to throw the ball at him. It was no surprise that Butcher went to the stand.
  6. That makes sense - the ref made (another) mistake and showed the wrong card, when he had intended to show both a straight red .... it also makes the reason for booking on sportbox site make sense too as "violent behaviour" is not a yellow card offence it is a red card one. But he'd already shown the red card to Lilley, so he had the card out. He fished out the yellow, showed it to Duncan, and then showed the red.
  7. I wondered this too ...... the stats sites I watch as the game progresses showed only Foran and Odhiambo booked for us but when Duncan was sent off the radio man (Des McKeown) definitely said it was a second yellow. I twittered back to openallmics but no confirmation. perhaps someone who was at the game can confirm ? http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/matchdetails.php?id=370 I was there Scotty. First thing (well first repeatable thing) I said was that he hadn't been booked. The only reason the people were saying it was for a second bookable offence was the that tool Muir showed a yellow card (at which point I thought - phew, that's a relief), then the red came out. Why can't we have 4th officials in the SFL?
  8. Wow. A report where the home fan obviously wasn't at the game!
  9. What was Russell's first yellow for? I was pretty sure he hadn't been booked already, which was why everyone was going bananas - they were trying to tell the ref that he hadn't booked Duncan before. Didn't look like a free kick either, from the main stand, and Muir moved the wall back 11 yards. He should really have gone the whole hog and taken the kick himself. Foran and Eric should have been given the hook at half-time. Foran was a bit lucky not to get booked at the end of the first half, but why was Queen's no 4 not booked for gesturing that he was going throw the ball at TB. In the second half every player that Eric went near went down like he'd been shot. The referee made a complete mess of things. A couple of early yellows would have calmed things down. Instead he let the agricultural stuff go, and pulled up really nit-picky stuff. Note the SFA - if he ain't good enough for the SPL, we really don't want him either.
  10. LEEDS!!! When did you move? Well no one knows where wakefield is so i just say leeds. Makes more sence than having peolpe saying "wheres wakefield". People know where leeds is! I'll have to find somewhere that will show it or someone with sky that i can take over their living room Yeah, I live in Leeds and I don't know where Wakefield is!!
  11. This was the game that ultimately cost us. We could have pretty much relegated Falkirk that day - had we won we would have been 10 points, I think, clear. Even a draw would have done, which was the problem. We went for the draw, and got turned over. Losing 4 goals was ridiculous. We had two big games against Falkirk to seal survival. We needed 1 point from 6 and couldn't even manage that. We bottled it big time.
  12. I have only two things to say. And the second one is 'Off'
  13. The most depressing things about this are: 1) Having to get the jabs so that we can visit Dingwall 2) Having to visit Dingwall 3) Having to put up with the stream of electronic effluence as the caravan dwellers take it in turns to huddle round the sole computer and give us the 'benefit' of their wisdom. And no, benefit dosen't mean you'll get paid for it.
  14. At the moment two points will do it no matter what (and with 11 minutes to go last night, we had those two points). If Falkirk win on Saturday, that becomes one. Lets just make it simple and beat Killie, eh!
  15. The only thing that could make that better is if we actually sent them down!
  16. What? You've got a singing D i l d o? Oh, wait a minute..... oops!

I believe that the shop in Eastgate closed in February.
  19. Appendix 4 is to stop teams using reserve games to use up suspension - it basically means that your ban must be served in first team games. Red card was for denying a goal scoring opportunity (which he didn't - Finnigan was 2nd favourite to get to the ball). Compare with McManus' trip on Dargo, just as Dargo was about to shoot - just as much (if not more) of a denial of a goal scoring opportunity. Anyone would think that there were double standards in Scottish Football, or that our refs were gash! In conclusion, if the beaks follow their own rules (not a given!) Lionel should probably miss the first game of next season's Scottish Cup.
  20. He's right though! Finnegan was as guilty of wrestling as Lionel, and didn't throw himself down until he realised that Esson would get to the ball before him.
  21. Spot on Stan - I drift back to his display at Clyde in the Championship winning penultimte game. He has suffered by walking in Rosscoe's shadow and he may well have had a run last season if it hadnt been for injury and very untimely suspensions. He is another stop gap in midfield who has taken the opportunity to impress. I reckon that he may be the first choice right back next season. And playing him in central defence is yet another clear feckin farce we suffered under Brewster and the muppets. He was dynamic enough against Hibs to put the ball in the net, and again against Rangers to win the penalty!
  22. No-one is stopping me, but location is. Just sing louder!
  23. Football chants are a mixture of support for you team, disparaging your traditional rival(s), and slagging off the day's opposition. 90 minutes of any one of those can get a bit tedious to be honest! As a new club, the role of 'traditional rival' is probably up for grabs. C*unty qualify through geography, but we haven't really played them that often in our time in the league. By dint of the fact that we've often found ourselves fighting for the same thing, I'd be more inclined to make Livi & Falkirk our traditional rivals.
  24. The only issue I have with Dougie is his first touch - it's often a bit heavy. I had the luxury of seeing him in the flesh V killie and on Alba V Utd, and particularly against Utd, if he'd had a better first touch he could have won the game single-handedly. Having said that, he works his socks off, and iff he can re-produce that free-kick v Hearts....
  25. The only part of that description I match is the "left footed" bit. Away an rattle yer beads....
