  1. And a win tonight with young Cairns amongst the goals. Seemingly Strathspey didn’t give him much game time when he was on loan there and he really enjoyed scoring against them. They were already condemned to a play off against Banks O’Dee to retain their Highland League status. They will be underdogs but I hope they win. I was brought up there and football was very much secondary to shinty, but it would be sad to see them drop down a level.
  2. Ethan Cairns scored for Fort William tonight.
  3. Another of our youngsters, Robbie Thomson, was highly praised by the Clach Manager in today’s Courier. It seems he is both a winger and a playmaker for them.
  4. I’d not picked up on it before, but Ali Riddle and Ethan Cairns are on loan to Fort William. Both are in their starting line up tonight: https://mobile.twitter.com/FortWilliamFC/status/1513589103044218882?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1513589103044218882|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fitbanorth.com%2Fviewtopic.php%3Ff%3D1t%3D8870start%3D2720
  5. The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/match-report-ayr-utd-2-2-ictfc Watching the goals again, poor defending at them both but, to be fair, with our performance after going 2 up, we didn’t deserve to win.
  6. Ha ha. You’ve updated the report……!!!!!! Thanks for doing them each match. They always reflect the views of fans.
  7. Simply that we are not good enough to get promotion.
  8. Sums it up so well (although Partick won last night). Whilst we look certain to make the play offs, I can’t see us getting through three two leg ties against, most likely, Partick, Arbroath and St Johnstone given our inconsistency. As Kingsmills has said, today epitomised our season. At 2-0 up so early, we should have kicked on and had a confidence boosting comfortable win, but we self destructed. We need to up our game for Friday.
  9. Manny Duku for Havant and Waterlooville today.
  10. Ouch: 2-2. That was coming. Time to get a grip and pull out a winner.
  11. I’ve been slipping down the table badly in recent weeks so this is desperation! Therefore rather than trying to pick an option with reasonable odds that may fail: Kelty Hearts @ 1.36 please. I bet they slip up now!!

    Reece McAlear

He’s one I’d definitely want to keep but it is inevitable other clubs are after him given the way he has matured into a very capable player. Hopefully he has enjoyed his time here and a promise of game time is good enough to encourage him to commit. When he spoke at hospitality after the Dunfermline game, it was clear he has had more game time than he had anticipated this season and had benefitted from it. Kirk Broadfoot has acted as his mentor so hopefully he is advising Reece that staying would be good for him. Allardice and McAleer would be a potentially potent central midfield pairing.
  14. Roddy MacGregor is in the squad for tomorrow. Scott Allardice should be our only injury absentee.
  15. Yesterday’s behaviour was shocking and at the very least Rangers should be required to play home Old Firm matches behind closed doors for the next two seasons. As said above, I don’t see it happening.
  16. Even if clubs restricted away ticket numbers, Old Firm fans would buy tickets for the home sections. Before our relegation, I often found Old Firm fans in seats close to mine. It shouldn’t happen but not sure how a club could police it when selling tickets for non season ticket seats, other than to only allow season ticket holders to attend, which would be very controversial.
  17. Will update when I see a full list, but Highland League scorers on Saturday were Ali Sutherland and Andy MacRae (at least 2) for Brora and Andrew MacAskill for Buckie.
  18. Gardyne scored a penalty for Montrose, with their win confirming they are in the playoffs. A step closer to him coming up against Carson….
  19. I think it is a couple of weeks later than usual, certainly compared to when we were last in the final. However, the final deserves to be played at the weekend as midweek would limit the fans who could attend. If we’d been in it, I’m sure none of us would have wanted a midweek date. Just a shame about our very poor cup form this season.
  20. Two good goals!
  21. I believe it is to mark the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the predecessor company, Highland Omnibuses.
  22. And here it is. Not the best picture given the light, and no prizes for knowing where it was taken! I’m told it was the initial livery used in 1952 when Highland Omnibuses was formed. And in case IBM asks, it is an ADL E400.

    Sam Pearson

That such a shame. I am sure we all want to send condolences to Sam and his family at this sad and difficult time. I hope he goes on to have a successful career and fulfil the potential he clearly has. Who knows, if he is being considered to be loaned out next season, perhaps he will come back to us.
  24. Ha ha! Good job it’s spring, even though it doesn’t feel like it this week!
  25. Not got a picture, but there’s a double deck in an older Highland livery (1952?) now running in Inverness. Saw it when heading into Tesco at the Shopping Park today.
