2020-21 Challenge Cup
If the cup goes ahead this season, a sensible solution would be to restrict it to the 30 teams in the Championship and Leagues 1 and 2. Give us and Raith byes to the second round so last year’s final can take place on the weekend of the first round games. That means 28 clubs play in 14 first round matches, with us and Raith making it 16 clubs for the second round. That avoids fixture congestion.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
It was a very poor game last night. I had the misfortune to watch it and would fancy us against either team if we got them in that form! Rooney only got the last few minutes and may not get much game time as they were playing a back three. McCart was poor too, particularly his distribution.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
Sorry for the confusion, that should have been two left backs, McHattie and Harper, so we don’t need another (in response to the suggestion that we should have signed Foster to replace Tremarco). As I have said before, I see our priority as finding a right back.

And his mrs is based down there, Amy MacDonald, whilst we already have two right backs.

Credit to the club for the honest update and great news about the level of sales.

I have sympathy with those who pre-ordered. It is not unreasonable to expect it to be delivered before sales are available in the store. Equally I understand why the club wants them on sale in store as soon as possible. Perhaps waiting and having them on sale in store on Monday would have been the best compromise but sometimes you just can’t win.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
We need to see how pairings develop, But fitness permitting I’d go with Toshney and Deas with Devine and McHattie as cover. If we have a right back by then, Mckay comes into the mix too but I’d stick with Toshney and Deas. It will be interesting to see who is preferred at left back, McHattie or Harper. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised how McHattie did at centre half in the latter part of last season, and he seemed calm and unflappable. As a result, I suspect he may get the nod ahead of Harper, at least initially.

Building for next season.
Don’t think that’s been confirmed. Last I saw, Robbo said he knew who would be captain and it would be announced at some point. Welsh would be my choice.

Don’t remember him playing right back for us.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
I agree. He was a decent stand in when we had Meekings and Warren and has gained a lot more game time than he got when with us. We do need a right back, though, unless the plan is Mckay with Toshney as cover, given Robbo’s comments that Toshney can fill in there. Early last season when we had to play a midfielder (Carson) there a couple of times it showed, despite his effort and passion, that we need a specialist full back.

Thanks for that. Wikipedia just gives League goals so presumably 14 league and 4 cup?

I agree and would give us a bit more strength in depth. We do need a right back though!

Having seen how much Coll Donaldson likes getting the better of United, I bet he enjoyed scoring the opener against them today. Sounds like it was a good finish too. He wouldn’t have been as happy by the time United got in front though! Tremarco came off the bench today for, I think, his debut Rooney, on his first start to St Johnstone, was culpable for the Kilmarnock opener by missing someone running through on his blindside. He was subbed soon after but would have been relieved they got two late goals to bail him out.

From the same source, Shane Sutherland has scored 52 goals in his last 91 appearances in the last 4 seasons, admittedly after a lower level. Toddy has 15 career goals, 3 with us last season. Who should be our first pick striker? Sutherland should get the first chance in my opinion.

Being scanning wikipedia tonight. Interesting that Miles has scored 14 goals for us, half his career total, 11 in 30 in his loan spell and 3 in 27 last season. His other 14 came in 157 appearances with other clubs, so he has been most prolific with us. Given he generally played up front in his loan spell, Alan Simpson may be right that if we played him as a striker we would see the beat of him. That said, I’m still not convinced by his heading ability.

It was the name New Bayview Park that made me think that. Turns out it was new 22 years ago. Not sure how old Jack is.... lol.... .https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayview_Stadium

A defensive midfielder so I agree, a direct replacement for Trafford. Just a one year deal: https://ictfc.com/scott-allardice-signs-for-ictfc Now we need a right back!
