  1. Sounds like I was lucky I was unable to watch it! I’m going to Tannadice next weekend so hopefully we are more accomplished there. Sounds like a poor goal to lose and too much route one tactics. Some bookings too. Two years running we have known what we needed to do playing on the Sunday and have blown it live on tv. At least we are unlikely to get bids for players in the remainder of the transfer window if we were as bad as the comments imply. That said, I’m still worried we will see a bid for Donaldson in August. Hope I’m wrong
  2. Even if we win the group, we will be unseeded so will face one of Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Hibs, Motherwell, Livingston or..... County. Not sure if being unseeded means we are away or whether we can get a home draw.
  3. I don’t know how many of our youngsters played, but Fort William lost 6-0 at Brora today. Probably an improvement on their result there last season.
  4. Anything other than a defeat in 90 minutes will see us through: the four best runners up currently have 8 or 9 points. Our goal difference is better than East Fife’s, currently the fourth best runner up. Hopefully we don’t play for a draw but set out to win the game.
  5. The funny emoji is for your last comment DD!
  6. The headline to the article on the club website says they are on loan. I don’t think the word “loan” appears in the article though.
  7. This arrangement is effectively keeping Fort William alive so is unlikely to be replicated, particularly with the distance between most Highland League teams and SPFL teams. Really only Aberdeen or County who may replicate it. It is a good way to keep our youngsters with the club, give. Their success last season and potential, whereas previously many may have been released. Will they still appear for our under 18s Mackay, MacGregor, Harper and Machado must be fully fledged first team members now as they are not involved.
  8. Presumably that rules them out of appearing for us. The nine are Martin MacKinnon, Donald Morrison, Gabriel Hastings, Ryan Fyffe, Harry Nicolson, Jack Brown, Kieran Chalmers, Ross Gunn and Roddy Kennedy. Having been brought up in Fort William, I hope this gives them stability and our lads experience so all benefit.
  9. I’m not so sure. Rooney in particular used to play well forward for a right back and Tremarco likes to get forward. Issue may be more that we are lacking Welsh sitting in front of Donaldson and McCart so they are less protected as a result.
  10. Thanks for that. So really we started our top 11 other than Welsh. Sunday will let us see how we are likely to cope in the league. Peterhead and Cove are decent teams, probably better than the leagues they are in, but if we deal with Dundee we can be reasonably confident about the league season. If we don’t, particularly if they are clearly better than us, it could be squeaky bum time. Hopefully not!
  11. At least we are making chances: 24 attempts with 12 on target.
  12. And Todorov nets his second in two games off the bench. Top of the group if we can hold on. Are we playing any better now?
  13. Good to see him off the mark.
  14. Need to turn this round or we are facing embarrassment. Although ironically a win in 90 at Dundee would still see us win the group. Not sure how realistic a thought that is though!
  15. Ouch. Hopefully that gives us a kick up the rear end.
  16. BBC have just changed the scorer to White.
  17. BBC giving it to Mckay. I’d White as first scorer so White will do me. Peterhead 2 down so we will be top of the group as things stand. Worrying if we have been poor. Hopefully we kick on now.
  18. Mckay for Trafford only change. Will be glued to BBC app in a restaurant near Penrith. Come on ICT!
  19. Nat Wedderburn is now at Airdrie.
  20. Getting us back on topic.... Given our injury position, a versatile defender could be useful. With Rooney, Mckay and McHattie all out, we only have three fit experienced defenders. Carson did very well at right back yesterday, and Todorov can play at the back, but we could be vulnerable if we pick up any more injuries. Tremarco took a heavy one yesterday but is hopefully over it.
  21. I thought he had a quiet first half, but the whole team did (even Walsh), but grew in stature in the second. He was getting stuck from those behind me, unfairly in my opinion.
  22. Carson was playing right back.
  23. Of the new players, I thought Carson did very well playing out of position. Vincent started quietly but grew into the game. Keatings was taking corners and free kicks and was quite ambitious with some. Todorov is very similar to White and took his goal well. Curry did not get much time but looked lively. Great to see MacGregor get game time. He lifted things when he came on. Tremarco took a knock after a disgraceful high tackle that went unpunished, but played on so hopefully ok. Donaldson took a sore one too but seemed ok. I don’t think Doran is fully fit, but he took his goal well. With a long injury list already, some youngsters should get game time. I’d start MacGregor on Tuesday.
  24. Another Walsh assist and Todorov header.
  25. Ha ha! Vast majority of home games. Midweek ones can be tricky for me. It’s not a convincing display so far.
