  1. Indeed, looked more dominant on the highlights than at the game itself. If the ref had not already lost the plot, we may have got a penalty at the death when Fox pulled Mackay down on the line.
  2. I agree. We seem to save our best displays for County. If we can become consistent and play for 90 minutes every week it will make a big difference.
  3. I really don't know how we lost that. We recovered from going behind, and were the better team for the last hour. I can't fault the players for effort, and we came very close a couple of times, particularly through Walsh and McCart. I thought Walsh had an excellent game, closely followed by Polworth, Rooney and McCart, but all 11 played their part in what easily could have been a win. I don't agree about the substitutions. We were well on top, so not changing it was the right thing. That changed with the County goal. County fans I spoke to afterwards couldn't believe their luck. A disappointing end, but if we can maintain that effort and keep trying to play forward quickly, there is no reason why we cannot at least cement fourth place. Next week's game could be pivotal as it can let us pull clear a bit. I thought the ref lost control a bit when the smaller bust up took place in the first half between Donaldson and Lindsay, so no real surprise if all kicked off late on. Until I saw the photo above, I'd no idea Roooney was involved, but as half the players were, perhaps surprising there were only two reds.
  4. I'm going over early by bus for a couple of pints before kick off. Hope that will be the start of a really enjoyable day!!
  5. With reports that Carl Tremarco is back n the squad, any thoughts on tomorrow's team? I like McCart but he is best in the centre, and he and Donaldson could well be our best pairing. But is tomorrow a day to experiment? If Carl is not fully fit, I suspect an unchanged team. What is the story with Austin? He rarely appears off the bench, despite our lack of experienced players. Anything going in behind the scenes, or is he not fully fit. If Carl is fit, my pick is: Ridgers Rooney Donaldson McCart Tremarco Welsh Chalmers Doran Polworth Walsh Oakley
  6. No one can condone such behaviour. It is good that the club acted quickly and responsibly.
  7. The next three games could set the tone for the season: we have the top two and also Queen of the South, out closest challenger for a play off place. We are unbeaten in 8 away games this season, with four wins, so need not fear County. Where we need to improve is at home, with only one win in nine to date. That is holding us back. There is little between all the teams. When we play is fast we are as good, or better, than anyone, we just don't do it often enough. We have raised our game in the two games with County so far, and been as good as them. I really hope we can come away with three points on Saturday. Soubds like the first goal yesterday was well crafted by Oakley and Polworth bEfore Walsh finished it. More of the same, please!

If that's who we are interested in, if there is any truth to the allegation, we should steer clear. On left sided players, any update on how long Carl Thremarco is out for. I was talking to a Hearts fan, who indicated that a fit Beith could be what we need to toughen up our midfield. Last I heard he was a couple if weeks away from being fit, any update on him either?
  9. I was in front of the person in the main stand who shouted abuse at Polly and prompted the reaction. He was on Polly's back all game, clearly missing the assist and his positive efforts. It really frustrates me. Polly is our best player but, as others have said, polarises opinion. We'd be much worse off without him: is that what some want? He is a local boy: will Mackay and others be getting similar treatment in 3 or 4 years? I really hope not! If we lose him in January, we can say goodbye to any play off hopes.
  10. I'm looking forward to this one. I hope big Coll gets cause to celebrate like he did at Tannadice last season. I'm meeting a United fan for some drinks before the game, we will part at the ground and meet at full time for some more refreshments. I really need the bragging rights!
  11. The cup semi is now at 1900 on Tuesday, with first team players available to sign calendars from 1800.
  12. Is my I-pad playing up? This says the topic was posted in 2013.
  13. Interesting comments. I couldn't make it as flying up from Gatwick, but BBC credited Polworth with a couple of assists. I really hope this gels the squad and we build from here. My only gripe was I predicted 5-1.... Is Welsh injured? Subbed on Saturday and missing tonight. Big game at Ayr on Friday so hope he is back then.
  14. I'm at a loss as to how we lost yesterday. We had a great start, with a tremendous pass from Polworth that set Walsh up, and he took it well. Falkirk's two first half goals were soft. Ridgers should have claimed the cross that led to the first, and Rooney seemed favourite to deal with the ball that resulted in the second. We started the second half well, and looked hungry, even moving the ball fast at times. Too often, we played it square, and other than Polworth and Rooney seemed reluctant to take players on and drive forwards. Oakley came very close before he scored, and Chalmers had a shot that looked close from where I was. I didn't expect Welsh to be subbed, but Trafford had one of his better games when he came on. He gave the foul away that led to he goal, but it was a very soft award by the ref. How the winning goal got in at the back post I don't know. I think it was another soft goal. Falkirk showed no desire to win the game, and we should have won it quite comfortably, but our defence suddenly seems frail or error prone. Ridgers seems below par, Rooney is better going forward, and we had a back three for most of the second half. Donaldson and McCart were ok, and I'd pair them in the centre of defence. Polworth was the pick of the midfield, but there was little directness from Chalmers, Walsh or Doran. Welsh was fine. Up front, Oakley was trying, but had little service. In some ways, losing the unbeaten tag may ease some pressure and allow us to kick on. Time will tell!
  15. Under 18s
  16. Subject to not knowing who may be injured, if we have the same squad as last week, missing Tremarco, Beith and Doran, I'd go with: Ridgers Rooney Donaldson McCart Chalmers Mackay Welsh Polworth Walsh Austin Oakley
  17. I would have gone but we are away next weekend. Hope he youngsters get a great crowd and put on a good display. Is their league table available anywhere? They must be near the top.
  18. A brief stint in Brora then off to Texas! I hope it works out for Nick.
  19. I'm following the text commentary on BBC. Two chances so far, Austin missed one and Polworth had one saved.
  20. Interesting selection. Presumably Doran is injured? Will Chalmers stay left back or be back in midfield? If left back, does that mean Mckay is in midfield, or possibly right back with Rooney pushed forward? A bit harsh on Oakley that he is not one of the front two.
  21. Definitely! Assuming we don't mess up tomorrow, great to have a home draw against an opponent we don't normally come up against. Have we ever played either Edinburgh City or East Kilbride before?

He's been out of the squad recently due to a hamstring injury. He should return in the Under 18s up match this midweek.
  23. Hopefully another away win! I assume we will have Ann unchanged starting line up with our injuries. Hopefully Daniel Mackay makes the bench this week, so he, Austin or White give options if we need them. Any more injuries at the back or midfield will be problematic. To the fans who are going to the game, have a great time!
  24. Just watched the highlights in the report. Really great goal by Walsh and a really good penalty stop by Ridger.
  25. Thanks RiG and Alternative Maryhill, I will take a scrappy win over a draw any week, and hopefully it's the catalyst to give the lads the confidence to kick on. Queens are a tough team, so if we can go there and win, it will be great.
