  1. Sadly my concern was justified Long Man. We need to find out what our strengths are and we cannot blame the officials today.
  2. He was getting stick all game, but seemed motivated. He did one of the goal line clearances and had one excellent tackle to prevent another likely goal, but his distribution, and that of McCart, was poorer than we are used to (possibly due to United defending well?). We struggled against their pace and the way they switched play all the time, which created space and chances. Basically they were playing at a higher level than us. Today really highlighted what Polly did for us.
  3. I see Gary Warren is now at Exeter as well as Alex Fisher.
  4. True. Have added “even more”. Hard to find positives. Ridgers was giving Robbo pelters after the first goal so not sure if he was being blamed. For some reason, he was kicking short to Donaldson or McCart a lot of the time and that led to one of the goals as we got in a tangle. Mckay’s injury is hopefully not as bad as it looked. He left on a stretcher. United then targeted Carson, who I thought acquited himself well given he was out of position. Donaldson and McCart struggled to contain the lively United front two as the scoreline shows. Tremarco was not the player we have seen in recent seasons. Vincent has a decent spell when he came on, but is not a holding midfielder. Trafford had a few moments but was largely bypassed. Doran and Walsh did not impose themselves. For a spell the Carson / Walsh pairing caused issues for United but they sorted that by pressing up on Carson. Keatings did little. White was actually doing ok on the service he got. I’d have left him on and taken Doran off. Todorov and Storey did not really change anything, although Storey looked lively and had a couple of runs. Worryingly, there seemed to be more bi keeping amongst the players than normal. Hopefully just a reflection on them knowing they were having a bad day rather than anything more untoward. Hopefully we saw how good United are rather than how bad we are. Time will tell. We will get a better feel for it next week against Arbroath. Bottom of the league is never a nice feeling, though.
  5. We were poor overall. Only matched them in second half of first half. I think we cleared three off the line as well so it could have been even more embarrassing.
  6. Shankland again. Too easy for them.
  7. Two cleared off line this half so could be a lot worse.
  8. That third was too easy. Stemmed from us messing around at a goal kick when we should have got it up the park. Done that a few times today Mckay went over a United player jumping into a challenge and got hurt giving away a foul.
  9. We’ve been better since the enforced change. Carson and Walsh combining down right and Vincent doing well in midfield. We are not out of it. Our defence is a worry. Struggling to handle the pace of United.
  10. We were doing much better and probably just about deserved to be level, then..... shankland again.
  11. Being out thought and out played so far. United moving it quickly. We are slow and using long balls all the time. Goal was too easy for them too. Long break in okay just now due to injury to Mckay. Being stretchered off. Hope not as bad as it looks.
  12. Starting 11 is Ridgers, McKay, Donaldson, McCart, Tremarco, Carson, Trafford, Walsh, Doran, Keatings and White.
  13. Storey is warming up, number 17, but don’t know team yet.
  14. Greetings from sunny Tannadice. After a couple of refreshments in town and a gentle walk to the ground, here’s to a great successful season for ICT.
  15. Done deals? Done deals?
  16. I recall that goal. We won 3-0 that day. I was treated to hospitality at County so was in with home fans so had to mute my celebrations. Draper and Polworth got the others if my memory is working. Memories!
  17. So if Storey is back and cleared in time, do we start him? If so, what does that mean for the team? If he plays off White or Todorov, does Keatings drop out? Or does he play wide, perhaps in place of Doran! I’m enjoying a relaxing night in Dundee with a few beers before strolling to Tannadice tomorrow for what I hope will be a good 90 minutes for us on my birthday, but I’m fearing the worst!
  18. Not seen any reports confirming this: is it a done deal?
  19. Sorry all, really hope I’m wrong, but: 1 Dundee United 2 Partick Thistle 3 Morton 4 Dundee 5 Dunfermline 6 ICT 7 Ayr United 8 Queen of the South 9 Alloa 10 Arbroath
  20. Hopefully a return to Tannadice is the tonic Donaldson needs to get back on form. He enjoys putting one over them!
  21. Can’t argue with that but suspect White will start ahead of Toddy. We badly need Welsh back though.
  22. Anyone know who the trialist was who was right back in the 2-1 defeat to the junior team in Nairn? Machado scored our goal. McHattie, MacGregor and Mackay all played.
  23. Presumably the 9 loanees cannot play so what on earth will our team be?
  24. Anyone make it along? Was it a good afternoon?
