Raith @ home April2024
That’s encouraging that McAllister, Carragher and Savage are all fit as it gives us options. Will Kerr be back in midfield with Duffy at right wing back, or will McAllister start with Kerr reverting to wing back?

Very quiet on here aint it ?!!
I normally enjoy Friday night games, and I really hope tomorrow’s will be no different. A win will help us greatly, and add to the pressure on Queens Park, who have a difficult game at Dunfermline on Saturday. However, Queens Park travel to play Arbroath next weekend, so we have to assume they will pick up points there. We blew our good run against Raith earlier in the season, but had a great win in Kirkcaldy when we last played them. Now is the time to continue our winning run and get ourselves looking up rather than down. I’m nervous though, given our poor home form.

Kevin McHattie for Brechin tonight.

Hampden Calling
That’s a strange one given we’ve picked up most of our points away from home and our own pitch has been perfect all season. A younger Aaron Doran was pretty useful at free kicks and Sean Welsh had a few too (when fit).

Ex ICT Players Score
Noted today were Marley Watkins for Kilmarnock, Logan Chalmers for Ayr, Jack Brown for Peterhead, both Sam Pearson and Alex Fisher for Yeovil, both Garry Wood and Ethan Cairns for Banks O’Dee, whilst Sam Nixon scored an own goal as Forres lost to Brechin. Graeme Shinnie was sent off for Aberdeen. It must have been a bad one as this is how the BBC described it: “Graeme Shinnie - that is very, very naughty. Already on a yellow, he goes studs up on Malachi Boateng, nowhere near the ball. It's poor from the Dons skipper.”

Hampden Calling
This is the first time we’ve won two league games in a row this season. Hopefully it’s the start of a run at the right point in the season.

Hampden Calling
Full time and a crucial three points as a result of Harper’s free kick, and we are up to 8th. Well done to all involved. Of our former players, Sheridan conceded the free kick we scored from and Welsh got booked.

Hampden Calling
A nervy last 10 looming. MacGregor and Pepple just on for Doran and Mckay. Lawal replaced Longstaff earlier in the half.

Hampden Calling
Boom!! Cammy Harper free kick. We are 1 up. Do we give Sheridan the assist? He handled the ball to concede the free kick.

Hampden Calling
If we can believe the BBC, Longstaff is at right wing back, Duffy is one of the back three, and Kerr is in central midfield.

Stronger Together
The above comment may have been missed. That certainly does not indicate to me that the Trust has any intention of passing any funds raised to the club for “more of the same”.
-
Stronger Together
I took Stronger Together to be a clever play on ICTST: the ST stands for both Supporters Trust and Stronger Together.

Fans Meeting: 6 April
Some context to both the above. The comment about being a property business was in relation to the club not being able to generate enough income from footballing activities to sustain a full time team, along with other current activities such as the Academy. By using its assets to generate income it can do so. I’m sure the Chairman said previously the club now owned the ground, opening up opportunities like Red John. On the Battery Farm, the intended purchaser has walked away due to the delays. The Chairman said that a replacement will not be hard to find, but there may be a reduction in value due to changes in the market. However it remains very sellable as it has a grid connection which can be used next year, with most schemes apparently 2027 or later.

Arbroath home April2024
That’s not correct. The Trust is seeking to increase the voice fans have in the way the club is run and potentially have a seat on the Board. When they decide to use the funds raised to buy shares, they have said they will only do so if they get commitments from the club.

Nikolay Todorov for Airdrie, Logan Chalmers for Ayr, Coll Donaldson for Falkirk, Rory McAllister for Peterhead and Alex Fisher for Yeovil yesterday. In the Highland League, two for Garry Wood for Banks O’Dee and one for Aiden Wilson for Inverurie. Daniel Hoban was one of three players sent off in stoppage time in the Banks O’Dee game.

Arbroath home April2024
It looked a really sore one when he was caught by Cammy Kerr. It looked like he (Savage) tried to pull out but too late.

I’m really surprised we are not using MacGregor. I’ve no issue with Lawal, who works hard and has some nice touches, but MacGregor should be in the team ahead of him.

Arbroath home April2024
It’s a long time since I’ve left the ground feeling as good as I did today. In difficult conditions, I thought we did very well. We won the toss and chose to play with the wind. With the wind advantage, we seemed eager to play more directly than in recent home games and to press Arbroath and even shoot on sight. We could easily have been two up after five minutes, with Samuel hitting the bar and their ‘keeper saving a good effort. The game settled and I was worried our territorial advantage and chances were not going to see us get a lead, but a very good finish by Duffy got us in front. In the second half, we were less direct, presumably as we were playing into the gale, but we made the better chances. Arbroath scored with their only attempt on goal in the whole game, but credit our players for digging deep and getting the win with a tremendous finish by Samuel (who took some stick from the Arbroath defence all game but kept looking for more). We thoroughly deserved the win and hopefully we now have momentum for the critical visit to Queens Park next week. Well done to all!

Arbroath home April2024
They should follow your suggestion of the three hour bus journey!! The forecast is for wind tomorrow which hopefully doesn’t make the game a lottery. We need to go for it from the first whistle and shoot on sight. It’s now or never for saving our season.

Our squad next season
We’ve only 8 players contracted for next season: Mckay, Ujdur, Brooks, Gilmour, Longstaff, Davidson, Nicolson and Savage. Presumably Davidson will leave by mutual consent at the end of the season given he’s out on loan. There have been rumours about Billy Mckay wanting to move on at the end of the season, but I’ve no idea if there is any substance to them, hopefully not. Regardless of which league we are in, we need to utilise our promising youngsters. Guys like Nicolson, Bray, Thompson, Cairns, Walker and Strachan need to be given their chance, supported by whatever experienced players we retain or bring in.

In Dunc I TRUST
We have played 10 games in February and March, during which time we’ve been knocked out of the cup, not won a game, and taken 5 points out of a possible 27. That run of 9 winless league games is very similar to our bad runs under Dodds in each of the previous two seasons. I’m really struggling to see any signs that we are capable of collecting enough points in our last five games to get ourselves to safety. I hope I’m wrong and we put a run together, as we really need to beat Arbroath and Queens Park in our next two games. Slipping up in either does not bear thinking about.
