  1. Would it not be easier to ask the moderators to pin it to the main board? I think this would be a good feature.
  2. Leith is the one area of Edinburgh where you can be guaranteed to go down to score drugs and hookers. It's vastly different to Leith Walk, and the revamped Port which are quite touristy nowadays. It still has a very seedy underbelly though. Great place to drink. You wouldn't notice much as a visitor. A lot of my friends have lived there (cheap rentals) and I've been around the area and had to deal with the residents. no fun. It's a actually a misnomer that Trainspotting was set in Leith though. Leith, which has changed noticeably since the late 80s only plays small fraction of the novel. Leith however is the gateway to Granton and Pilton. Which I can assure you haven't changed in the slightest. Great video by the way.
  3. So the Beeb have linked Sheils and Yogi to the job. Apparently we've even spoken to Sheils about the role (and the BBC have sadly been quite up to speed on the whole matter) My opinion on Sheils is divided. He seemed to do a good job at Killie and the fans liked him. But he was essentially sacked for being too outspoken. In this respect Terry Butcher too was very outspoken only a lot more media and political savvy. If we were to go for him I'd like to hope we'd contractually nail him into paying his own fines. I like John Hughes. If I was a player myself I think I'd respond to him. He's very into sports science (I don't think Stamina or speed would become an issue) and he always, from what I remember sent his teams out to play football (style sorted). He'd be used to the budget constraints from Falkirk also. On the other side his track record post Falkirk is pretty poor. Ignoring Hibs, as that job has become a minefield since Mobray left there, he's not exactly done well at either Livi or Hartepool (sacked in May) so somethings missing. It just seems that going by what Sutherland says we're looking South of the border, to someone who's been operating there or has a lot and has seasoned experience. The 3 names that jump out are Neil Warnock (please no), Paul Sturrock and George Burley. The latter, with his links to Butcher (may even be Tels suggestion) in this case would seem the most likely.
  4. You want to live in Edinburgh when you're older.... Tip, stay away from Leith.... it's well, mmmm seen Trainspotting? Thats set there.
  5. I know you've probably had this before, but, did your uncle ever arrange to have you kidnapped?
  6. Neil Warnock said he'd be up for the job, knowing the budget would be tiny and he wouldn't be paid much, primarily because he wanted to fish.
  7. George Burley is quite a shrewd shout given Sutherlands comments about a manager who's been out of work a while, experienced, and primarily based south of the border. His links with Butcher through Scotland would also suggest he may have been touted by Terry himself. Going by his club record in the past I'd probably take him. His spell in charge of the national team would leave me worried though. He was a PR fool, and his tactics seemed quite outdated. The players certainly never warmed to him either.
  8. I'd say Charlie Christie might be a good number 2. No one knows the club better. Get Foran as a 1st team coach/player and get a gaffer.
  9. Get Foran, Vincent, Tremarco and Watkins signed up asap in my reckoning. I can't see him having a go for any of the others personally.
  10. The only logical solution in my eyes is to catch a coach or train down on the Saturday. Have a night out on the tiles in Edinburgh then go to the game on Sunday utterly hungover and possible food poisoning from an Easter Road pie you've bought in an attempt to soak up the previous evenings debauchery.
  11. It's not that they've not been starting, which is entirely understandable given the form of those in possession, but I'd never even noticed either coming of the bench. Thought maybe Dick Advocaat had kidnapped them and put them in that cupboard Darius Adamczuk got lost in for all those years.
  12. Just for Terry DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA. Is Paul Dickov available? Would he be a decent shout? Would he come? Always a grafter as a player. Might be good to get that type in to keep the dynamics of the former regimes ethos going.
  13. Can anyone shed light on Curtis Allen, our striker whom we signed this summer? Is he still at the club? Is he fit? Is he injured? Also does anyone know what's happened to Connor Pepper. Last season he looked a bright prospect but he's disappeared of the radar. Still listed as an ICT player on the sight.
  14. Talented squad ha ha ha!
  15. Money, Location, We wouldn't go for him anyway
  16. It's a hard job trying to keep a small club out of their depth in the EPL. But Blackpool were immense for half a season under him with little investment. They just fell away. He managed to turn Charlie Adam into a £9m player somehow. I think he'd be able to find gems and cope in the SP(F)L quite comfortably. But i don't think he'd come, given that he quit Crystal Palace as he felt burnt out.
  17. Ian Holloway is available. Doubt he'd come, but it'd be a laugh if anything.
  18. Don't worry about it. I am reliably informed that IHE will be joining Butcher at Easter Road as analyst and advisor. Clearly Butcher will benefit from his sage words of wisdom, whilst for IHE it will mean not having to travel so far for home matches whilst Leith offers a night time social life more in keeping with his tastes than Inverness. It will suit us as well as the number of posts on this forum with the word "narcisist", or variations of it, will be reduced by at least 99%. Is he not banned from Easter Road?
  19. Yeah so most of you are missing the point... Brill, Shinnie, Foran, McKay, Vincent(pre injury) sub for Warren, no wait Doran. Tough call. Not really, until edited by the OP, there was no indication that this was restricted to a list of current players. Ok 1 person did... sorry I failed to note the times of post.
  20. Yeah so most of you are missing the point... Brill, Shinnie, Foran, McKay, Vincent(pre injury) sub for Warren, no wait Doran. Tough call.
  21. I'm sure the man wouldn't mind a bit of job security and stability
  22. A DoF who doesn't take his holidays at the most inconvenient times of the year?
  23. Butcher has said on numerous occasions in the past that he doesn't really like transfer fees as there is plentiful good value in the free transfer/bosman market, mainly as anything over 50k essentially constitutes a years salary as an ICT player, ie better to get 2 frees on budget of 100k than 1 50k transfer and wage, so I can't see any bids coming from Hibs in January for our players. In saying that, who is out of contract at the end of the season? I reckon he'd fancy getting Gary Warren in there to add some steal to the soft lethargic lumps in Hibs defence.
  24. Did we not give Brewster the boot, quite literally?
  25. He can't really say anything to BBC either way in case the Butcher move didn't go through. Be a tad awkward for him if he said he'd stay with Terry leaving then Terry ends up staying put.
