  1. I don't really like the idea of player-manager as suggested above. I don't think it works long term and I think Richie still has a lot left to offer on the pitch.
  2. I dont really fancy getting Levein. He's a decent manager and he knows how to get a youth set up working well but his teams generally are bruisers.
  3. Even maybe have Christie as assistant? He's had the top job before so he knows the score about that, and he adores the club which he can translate onto the players. I'd defo say bring Foran into being a 1st team coach though as well. Get him into the coaching set up. Wonder if Steve Marsella will stay also? And I think you'll have to live with the fact that ICTs short name is Caley nowadays. Sorry it just is. I refer to them as ICT or the Caley Jags mainly but the vast majority will just say Caley, especially if not supporters of the club.
  4. As long as Neil Warnock isn't one of those big names I'm fine. No respect for him at all nowadays. Utter hypocrite.
  5. I would agree with RiG that Hibs are a bigger club with a bigger fan base, bigger budget, excellent training facilities now etc but in terms of competition level I see the only step up for an SPL manager is either to the OF or the Championship up the way as this is where their competition scope is increased. Question is there any players in the Hibs squad that anyone would take over our 1st XI? I can't really say there are any shoe ins. I do fear losing Warren as Hibs defence is murder and they need a leader back there. I can't see them getting McKay. Foran will either be loyal to Butcher or ICT. Not sure which.
  6. I think The Edinburgh Evening news website publish the "agreed terms" story 1st. And as has often been the case the BBC has lifted the story straight from there. (That or the Scotsman but then they are part of the same newspaper group). It's not the 1st time that this has happened. Perhaps the EN is the reliable source. Though I'd be surprised at that as they often seem to get it wrong.
  7. I also like these...http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/img/shirts/169/thumbs/football_shirt_1218_1_600x560x0.jpg And the one which Ritchie and Gil (his biggest contribution to the team no less) so expertly modelled was great too. Can you see the running theme yet?
  8. I think our board just go on the Errea website and pick a blank canvas design then have Errea do the personalisations (ie crest and sponsor). Going back to this would be a preference I'm a stripe fan.
  9. Loan fees for Brill maybe? There's the investment of bringing Shinnie and Ross through the youth set up. And they're all on a fish supper a fortnight in wages so that'll make some impact on investment.
  10. .... and subsequently loses the 1st game after. It's a curse a tell thee!
  11. Worst thing is a Rangers former school associate of mine tried to say Lee Wallaces inclusion was more than justified. I was like, did he score? no. Set up the winner? no. I then pointed out that in a 10 minute cameo his only real contribution was to make a terrible headed clearance under no pressure straight to a Moldovan player, and then they scored the equaliser. To which I was then called up on my apparent anti Rangers agenda. Totally justified inclusion though. Aye.
  12. The Caley board are traditionally soft touches in my opinion when it comes to transfer fees and exceptionally naive when it comes to renewing contracts. I could have told you that Andy Shinnie was going to be key last season. A new deal should have been sorted beforehand. 1 year extension. Might have got a bit of dosh for him or kept him a little longer. It just grates me 3 seasons in a row its been Rooney, Hayes, Shinnie and this season?
  13. Seems some are blaming things that go over the head on unsolicited use of accounts.... And David Goodwillie is a glamorous name? In adult film publications perhaps
  14. I think if ever we are to build a fan holding area in that vicinity then I believe it would have to be a standing area of some description. However... Better solutions would be a) a wall with a lovely picture of fans on it. Just to tidy things up. Be reasonably cheap I'd have thought.b) large scale advertising hoardings. Might cost more to erect, but a potential money spinner. c)Some sort of fan post match area as suggested earlier. If we do any further stand improvements in the future I'd implore the club to do something about the uncovered ends on the main stand. It just looks silly and why should anyone sit there when there is no covering. With seating you need covering. And if they extended the roof to the ends then element covers on the sides of that stand would then be conceivable. Make the current facilities better before building addition parts.
  15. Well a simple and cheap solution would be for a simple clear sign marked "football crowd this way" marked with a directional arrow in said direction of the underpass/path. It's not that difficult. Or build a bridge over the A9. Simples. And the reason councils put up traffic lights is to cause congestion, then flag a report saying congestion has went up by x%. Did it at a roundabout near my folks. 1st put in traffic lights (due to the fact that having a roundabout directly in the middle of a bypass is idiotic anyway. Then when they were working ok changed the light timings causing queues a mile back. Unless within a week there were an extra 10000 cars on the road mind. It would all have been solved with a more expenive but more permanent soluton in a bypass flyover road with slip roads. The solution up in Inverness seems a little easier.
  16. It's ok I forgot, better to call up Scottish League 1 players plying their trade against part timers than the left back for the countries form team bar none.
  17. On the topic of the Bundesliga mentioned before, a) as mentioned there are significant sponsorship and tv deals in place which offset the lower pricing. b) German clubs do get the highest attendances in Europe but with a population of 80m that is to be expected. Interestingly per capita Scottish teams are the best supported in europe. Well I'm sure I read that somewhere. (we're 3rd behind Iceland and Cyprus according to this) 1 in 373 people attend games in Scotland compared to 1 in 1924 in Germany. Obviously it'll be in some way skewed by the OF but we can't do much more really http://foot.ie/threads/157230-Average-attendances-in-Europe-per-capita
  18. Given that Scotlands only real Left back plys his trae in Scotlands League 1 then I dont see why a shout in one of the soon dead rubber games would be out of the question. He's probably the most on form LB in Scottish football right now.
  19. Maybe he only bet against his own team when he wasnt playing that day, believing that his team had no chance without him...
  20. Sooo why is it not suitable for a Scottish Premiership side to have 3 stands? Especially as it's only ever going to be full at a very maximum of 6 times a season (Should we play Celtic and Ross County 3 times at home) Im not sure what looks worse, have 3 stands or 4 half full ones. I still say the best solution would be two sheltered standing areas either side of the TV tower. Maybe with a big wall behind it to keep the noise in. Its not like our fans are the noisiest anyway. So any argument about the lack of a stand taking away atmosphere is invalid until the fans themselves create some.
  21. Personally I don't think you should change a winning team, particularly at the back.
  22. More of the same please, barring any necessary changes cause by injury etc. Although this said without the benefit of viewing the weeks training.
  23. Its TBs 1st ever opening day win as ICT manager.
  24. I couldnt find the original, but felt it needed a ressurection.
