Simply, he works in a position that is deemed public. His views are in the public eye. His (alleged) views are illegal. This is in most cases a reason to be arrested. Which in turn, in most contracts, in most job - public profile or not, particularly if it could bring his employers into a position of disrepute, is gross misconduct. This usually results in employment termination. It has nothing to do with him being a footballer and therefore not having a right to offend, Many non famous, non footballers have been charged for similar insults. It's deemed discriminatory. Most discrimination is deemed illegal. That's not a bad thing.

Alas if you have a job that is in the public eye, it makes you a public figure and therefore you have to be careful about any comments attributed to you or that you make, The lad is a wally and subject to the clubs investigation, if found guilty, should have his contract terminated. If the police want to investigate then they should and if necessary take action.

It's weird how a suspension from the league can carry over to the cup but yet yellows gained in previous cup games hold against them in the cup. From this logic a league red would see you miss the cup game(ie potentially Stevenson) but does a cup red not carry to a league game suspension? I don't think it matters too much with Warren unless it does carry to the league. We could argue he doesn't make the foul and thus does not merit the 2nd yellow. However the 1st yellow would still see him miss the final anyway due to yellows ridiculously carrying into the semi finals. So does Meekings miss league games or cup games?

It's an utter joke of a rule. single yellows should be rescinded before any football final. Fifa managed to see sense, as did Uefa. Scottish authorities continue to drag heels.

I have been reliably assured by Neil Doncaster in person that the venue will be entirely neutral to both teams. He was pleased that Pittodrie would be available due to the home team not playing a league game that weekend.

1st of.... Whilst I was infuriated at his calls against us for the red cards (Was barely a free kick for Warrens 2nd yellow and he wasn't even the man challenging and whilst Meekings was petulant, certainly meriting a yellow it was no where near over aggressive enough to merit a straight red) and how that 6th minute 2 footed lunge wasn't a red I don't know. I actually think the ref was pish for both teams. Fool of joke calls. It was embarrassing really. But what a finish. Nick Ross legend! Great equaliser, and his penalty was a bullet in the top corner. No stopping that one! Pleased as punch! Cant wait for the final! Going to be a great day, win or lose!
