  1. Surely the fact he's all skin and bone means he wont require the muscle to heal around the relocated joint. Back in 2 weeks then.
  2. Ok so hypothetically speaking lets say Butcher was to go now? Who would the fans be after to replace him. Baring in mind we're not going to be able to really poach anyone promising. Can't afford a great deal of big names (of which Butcher is) even if they're without a club. Lets step up folks. Who?
  3. I want last seasons top. Anyone know if there are some still available? Need it in size big fat child wi no pappa (xxl me thinks)
  4. Get him signed up!
  5. Security can't be minimum wage. I know plenty of folks on doors and other security roles that make pretty good money. Unless footballing stewarding is lower tier security.
  6. Obviously the formation looks a little awry on the post but just put LWB out as an advanced left back and RW as a, well, RW.
  7. I think he's an out and out target man. Big man to the little man type. I'd have him as the 1 with an attacking mid behind (Draper looks well suited but Shinnie is the main man) and Doran, Mckay and Pepper (who changed the Celtic game when he came on in my opinion.) as the wide men available. He's not a winger. Start him out wide fine but somebody needs to overlap. Unless we have a system like- -GK- -RCB- -CB- -LCB- -LWB- -RCDM- -CM- -AMC- -RW- -ST- -CF- It's a variation of a 4-3-3/3-4-3/4-2-3-1. Shane would take the CF role. Playing a little wide of the more central striker (ie McKay). He'd be used to win wide long balls from Esson and the likes of G.Shinnie will be required to overlap. In this situation when he's getting forward at any opportunity as Bobby Carlos did for Real (He's not superb defensively anyway) The LCB (King) covers him and the RCB (Meekings/Raven) drops in. The RCDM (Jones) will then cover RB and the RW (Doran) will revert to RM. Shane will be allowed to cut in when being overlapped and get in the box for crosses. The AMC (Shinnie) would have a free attacking role of sorts but would still be a midfielder doing the creating 1st, scoring 2nd. McKay is the fox in the box. CM would probably be Draper or Foran. When Shinnie isn't overlapping Doran on the wing would be encouraged to hit the bye line. Simples. Terry, I'm on facebook. Get my number there.
  8. Get him in the gym on the bench press, that'll sort 'im out. After it's healed like.
  9. I'm pretty chuffed that we've set up a link with what is arguably the best youth set up in modern day English top flight football. Hopefully we can utilise it properly and get the most out of it we can. Also Arsenal kids are bred on passing football from the cradle so hopefully those guys will be able to appease the more vocal anti hoof brigade (I'm also anti-long ball, but if we win I couldn't care less how we do it.)
  10. If stewards are going to ensure fans are not allowed to reduce the risk of dehydration and heat exhaustion by removing all water bottles then the club should supply free plastic cups of water and hand them out. In the interest of safety. Australia v Scotland rugby game this year - torrential downpour. A storm over the pitch, virtually unplayable, but the Oz officials in Newcastle, NSW gave out free ponchos to fans watching, you know in case they got wet. Seems logical, but this is Scotland we're talking about.
  11. I'd rather have last seasons that this years to be honest. Might have to see if they have any.
  12. - Esson - -Cooper - Warren(if fit) - Meekings - G.Shinnie - - Foran - Jones - - McKay - A.Shinnie - Doran - - Sutherland - Then a bench. Better playing a quicker, smaller McKay wide feeding of a holding Sutherland. Sutherland height in box for crosses. Foran is a holding mid now I think. Maybe play Draper instead of Jones. And King if available ahead of Meekings. Meekings right back in that case.
  13. Have they signed and does anyone have any information on them other than being defenders?
  14. And Cooper is?
  15. http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s32 "Build a league competition with standing and recognition throughout Europe" - Well they've completed this. EVERYONE in Europe now knows about the SPL and what a laughing stock it has become. "Represent and safeguard the interests of its members" - Some would argue that they are, given their statements. But general statements of all the other clubs being reliant on the inclusion of another for survival could also be seen as quite damaging remarks and scare off investors in an otherwise doomed league. "Modernise the league structure and support system" - Don'y quite know why this is there to be honest. Modernise the league structure? Where about? And as for making improvements to the support system... well. "Maximise the commercial value of Scottish Premier League football by fully exploiting commercial rights and properties" - Should read, "make the league reliant on having 2 members in it to get top dollar and allow the commercial backing to leave if this is not the case." Some cynics might suspect they knew these events would transpire a fair time ago and that putting in such a clause may pressure teams into certain commercially based decisions. "Organise a league competition, adhering to rules and regulations set down by the governing bodies of the game and - encouraging attractive and entertaining football" - Well it would help if the league had rules in place to cover certain eventualities within their own body WHILST adhering to the rules of the governing body without the clubs having to vote on everything. "Provide leadership in the development of key initiatives to improve the quality of the game in Scotland, particularly youth development, and to set a pace and direction for the whole of Scottish football" Provide leadership? Are you joking me? See Steven Pressleys comments to the press. Direction for the WHOLE of Scottish football? Tomorrow 29 SFL clubs are to vote on a matter that could one way or another plunge Scottish football into the abyss. Ok, well if thats the direction for the WHOLE of Scottish football... "Liaise with other organisations to ensure effective co-ordination between the Scottish Premier League and other football organisations across the country and across the borders." Well, again giving the whole passing the buck of recent events and the only co-ordinating with the SFA being that sporting integrity is less important than commercial gain then I'm inclined to once again feel that the final mission point has not really been met. I'm sorry to say, but from my point of view those at the SPL have well and truly failed every club, including ICT that currently competes in the SPL and the REST of Scottish football too. Great job! Going by this I wouldn't mind seeing some resignations at some point, but we all know it shall never happen.
  16. I really can't see us getting anywhere near Skacel Row S. Hearts, even skint are likely to be able to afford higher wages than us and he was one of their higher earners and they can't bring together a package to keep him so i sincerely doubt we'd have much in the way of any financial muscle to tempt him.
  17. I'm sorry, but who is Cooper? I know we signed RB Raven, CB Warren, CM Draper, GK Reguero (already forgotten his name, apologees to all) and CF Oswell and brough in Pepper too, could someone tell me his postion too please, and Laing, Polworth and presumably our no3 keeper have been promoted from the under 19s But really, who is Cooper? All the changes this summer and 20000 miles of distance have me a tad lost.
  18. We need a left back, Centre half and a striker in my eyes. McKay has played a fair whack of his career out wide and could be again be utilised there if needs be and Sutherland can play there (though I think he's be better utlised up front with McKay, Shinnie and Doran (or Ross for one of these guys) playing off him and Foran and Jones in the midfield positions (again Draper/Morrison). 3 players in the positions outlined would give us a squad of 24 which, for us, is ideal. I'd even be ok without a striker if the new boy Oswell is up to it, as I see left back and a centre half, of which I'd happily take Roman Golabart back on loan, as the positions needing attention.
  19. Concur with the idea of Football fans being able to sit together like rugger fans. Meant to be grown ups and in some cases civilised human beings. And still to this day I can't figure out why the club havent put covers over the two wings on the main stand. Surely temporary covers, even removable ones of sorts, could be erected to offer some shelter in these areas. About time the governing bodies started talking about safe standing areas. It works in the lower leagues and in plenty of top european leagues and at every alcohol and drug fuelled gig around the country without any real issues (safe isolated incidents) so I can see no possible logical reason as to why it's not doable in the top league in Scotland. It wouldn't surely benefit game atmospheres. Yes I know it was brought about due to tragic events like the Hillsborough disaster but there were mitigating circumstances that day that led to such a devasting unfortunate outcome but I dont think the fact that game being standing, controlled properly and effectively, pose any threat to a persons well being. Provided that there are strict capacities and guidelines followed it would be a welcome addition to top flight football in Scotland. With the camera stand and building in the middle we could easily have a segregated standing area opposite the main stand. Away fans near the south stand with other away fans and home fans beside the north stand. Food stalls and toilets in the middle beside tv tower/unit futher helping to seperate the two groups as well as at the corners. Sorry went a bit off topic but if Scottrish football was to innovate ideas as a WHOLE then clubs could use this to their benefit to upgrade facilities without the large financial outgoings of a new stand and give fans the opportunity to stand and sing at games. I dont think it's right that fans from the North stand should be moved for more 'Tic fans. Perhaps if some were moved to sheltered areas in the main, and the stand halved (via a seating segregation) to allow the remainder and some Celtic fans in there too. (The surplus bile so to speak) but then are the North stand lot not among the more "cheery" fans and would having Tic fans beside them influence them to altering behaviour and stewards to be even less inclined to allow vocal football support?
  20. Elvis saying it exactly how it is. Scottish football lacks leadership. Spot on Elvis. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18743482 Give me the job as Top Jock and straight away I will set up two 16 team leagues (SPL1 and SPL2 for name sake) and one 10 team league (holding pen) and have 2 regional leagues in the Highland league and a new Lowland league above the rest of the amatuer set up. In the top tier (SPL1). 30 games each, play each other twice. 1 team will win championship and get champions league top spot. teams 2-5 will enter a play off tournament to decide the next avaliable european spots. 2 semi finals and a final and a 3rd place play off. Winner will get next available euro spot, runner up the next and if one (or more) of these teams win cup(s) then the 3rd place team will get a spot. Relegation will be 3 teams down automatically. the 4th bottom team will play off against the runner up of the promotion play off runner up. In the 2nd tier (SPL2) 2 teams up automatically. winners and best placed runner up. 2-6 have promotion playoffs like the Championship in England. Winners take the 3rd promotion spot. Runners up play off against 4th bottom SPL1 team for spot in SPL1. 3 teams down again, 1 play off final, 4th bottom v 4th top of holding pen. All Play Off Semis 2 leg home and away. Final, 1 game at hampden or other neutral venue should Queens Park be involved. Holding pen, 3 teams up with 4th place playing 4th bottom of spl2 for another spot. All teams in this league 6-10th will be eligible for demotion to region league with lower placed teams given relegation preference. But entirely dependent on region team application being accepted (ie solvency, stadium safety and facilities). Only one regional team from each region league to be promotion candidates. The winners. It's not perfect but with so much scope for promotion and relegation it removes the stigma of the same old teams every season and provides plenty of genuine end of season excitement. Some chairmen might cack it at having a 1 in 4 chance of demotion but 12 teams stay up (one more than current) definitely with possibly one more and all teams 2-5th (depending on uefa co-efficicents) can get 2nd champ league spot if they win 3 games. And set up a national centre of footballing excellence with football training and schooling. ie clare fontaine in France. I am the chicken macdaDDY.
  21. I'd imagine if the SPL was to lose the 80m tv deal then Neil Doncaster and fellow faceless execs wouldn't get paid as much and he's trying his hardest to protect this. Of course this is mere speculation but he's clearly doing something out of self interest. Rangers fans to their credit just want the chance to start again. They are not the ones who have failed to pay tax and given out dual contracts etc. And yet they are the ones being punished the most and yet thewy are the ones actually showing some humility. Get them to division 3. With even half or a 3rd of their fan base turning up for games they'll obllitertate the total of all the others in htat league put together. Add to that merchandise sales etc and the fact they have players still to either sell or play well above their level and a strong (massively underused) youth system, they have next to nothing to worry about. I'd put a bet on them going undefeated in the league all season. They should also cakewalk the 2nd and by the time they get to the first the fans shall have returned due to interest of their successful rapid rise through the leagues. I'd be hugely surprised if it took them longer than a straight walk through the leagues in 3 years. Another easy way to fix it - expand the top league. 16 teams there, 16 in the 2nd 10 in the 3rd and 2 regional leagues below that (highland and lowland). Old Rangers are dead. They now get the chance to start again. Do it cleanly.
  22. Kenny Sheils should try living in Oz, or managing here. Perth Glory to Newcastle Jets is a touch further for one and people often commute 3-4 hour round trips to work. It's not that big a deal here. 8 hour road trips are fairly short ones.
  23. 2 and 3 are my favourites, with 4 being a close 3rd for it's vintage look. 1 is too Sevco 5088 FC, 5 is rubbish and 6 has a bit too much of a mid 90s 2nd division top look to it.
  24. If Dundee got in it would appease Thompson of DUTD who has moaned about it being rubbish that Ross County got promoted as it would hit gate money. Generally speaking the more league derbies the better. However I dont like Thompson and Yorkson DID actually vote to get us up. There are more direct buses to Dunfermline for the Sneck though, I believe and it's closer to Edinburgh (and cheaper by public transport) however I probably wont be home from Oz for all of next season so doesn't really matter. Who have more fans as a whole? I do think though, looking at it objectively Dunfermline were relegated therefore should go down. I presume Dunfermline wouldn't need to apply for membership till next year as they were still SPL members as of the deadline anyway. My vote, for sportin purposes - Dundee FC
  25. Obsession with the past? Because we would take Blackie back? A man who's just picked up a Cup winners medal? You must be Dougal at the wind up. Nope...I'm just somebody who didn't support either Thistle or Caley before the amalgamation,...and supported my own local HL team for most of my life. I'm out of the Inverness loop, and always have been. On moving out of my home area and up to Caithness, I have chosen the teams I support., bearing in mind I hope I'm not up here till I die. All I meant with that comment was that, from that article, his options currently appear limited.....and the ducklings/swans remark was mostly aimed at I believe blackie will be on everyone's wish list in Scotland this summer with the exception to Celtic. I can see him going to rangers if everything works out for them or a fairly decent English team, lower championship or high league 1. I'd be delighted if Ian Black could do a job for us and could be signed....but I'd not be keen if the only reason for signing him again was because he had picked up a Cup winners medal, given he was released not that long after.....and once left ICT to better himself so his loyalty is suspect. He signed a pre contract with his boyhood club, who are also a far bigger club than ICT. It's hardly a sign of suspect loyalty. It's pretty self explanitory. I dont know who wouldn't make that move given the choice. Add to the fact he had a terrible relationship with his gaffer (Brewster) at the time I'd have been baffled moreso had he stayed.
