Meeting with the Chairman 30th Aug
Yeah - I'm a former Jaggie (although I wasn't a regular attendee at Kingsmills..), but I can shout 'Caley' at the games now...! We should remember Caledonian & Inverness Thistle with fondness, but time to move on..I do know a couple of pre-merger fans(1 on each side-1 follows Aberdeen & 1 follows Celtic) who won't have anything to do with ICT - personally, I think that's sad... The 'Inverness' part of the name is the main part for me - we are the Senior team that represents the City & look at what ICT have achieved - the whole really is better than the sum of the parts! I'm not really in favour of changing names, etc - think the 'refuseniks' won't come back, whatever the club does. Ideas to attract new fans to the club are what is needed & sounds like Red Card has discussed commercial ideas which is great to hear!

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
Hopefully not - I'd hope there would still be a meeting, best way forward

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
That's well put & hopefully the club can meet with them & sort things out - I want the young team to kerp going, but, as others have said, man up & acknowledge that things do get out of hand sometimes.. Yep, good article, thanks for the link

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
I sit in the North Stand, not far from the 'Young Team' & I'm usually grateful for the atmosphere they try & create. Nobody wants to be sitting in deathly silence at a game! But, I fear the latest episode has drawn attention to them & that with all that's gone on (flares/smokebombs/damaged bus &, particularly, an official 'unacceptable conduct' letter) & the end result will either be: worse behaviour or the loss of the young team altogether, neither of which is good for anyone. Another poster said that the club were willing to meet them? Hopefully this could still go ahead (including the UI17 group) - unless the people who run this were involved in what happened at Brechin, of course! Dialogue is the best way.. The club is for everyone...young, old, families etc....!

Transfer in and outs
I fear not...

Transfer in and outs
Harsh...!! Although I'm not convinced about Ridgers either, in fairness. Like I said before, I'd like to see Cammy MacKay push Ridgers for the jersey...I really can't see OFW playing for us again...but, who knows.

Well said

Transfer in and outs
Not sure about that - he is hardly going to have endeared himselves to his team mates lately. Has he trained with the new guys much, for example? He probably is a better keeper than Ridgers (that's debateable), but would he fit into the team that Robbo is trying to build just now? Ridgers is an integral part of that. Personally, I'd rather Cammy MacKay was Ridgers backup (or vice versa)

Transfer in and outs
Exactly...would be best for the club AND OFW if he moved on - as I said before, I can't see Wales picking him if he's not pkaying at all .

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
Please don't try & justify flares/smoke bombs - there isn't any way to do so... Perhaps, as someone else has just posted, U17 should try & sort out the behaviour of the group (the vast majority of whom, I'm sure, are jyst out to enjoy themselves & get behind the team), rather than stay away altogether - I don't want to see genuine fans feeling like they have to stay away! But, wee neds who cause trouble, we can do without..

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
I can kinda see where PumpFake is coming from here - like I said before, my Wife was at the Brechin game & told me she didn't see anything noteable as unusually bad behaviour, compared to other games we've been at (apart from the flares/smoke bombs of course), she thought the stewarding was unnecessarily heavy handed though - particularly the drum being confiscated! However, reputation is everything here - our club is being dragged through the mud here & they probably feel they have to act. If they find out who let the flares/smoke bombs off, they fully deserve everything they get, I have no sympathy at all - they will count themselves lucky if they aren't charged, as well as whatever action the club takes. As for the damage to the bus, that's criminal damage - end of. No excuse. Please keep going to the games, guys - but behave...I don't think that's a lot to ask!

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
Last Saturday might just change that preception, don't you think?

CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin
Flares/smoke bombs have NO place at any football game, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater & kill the atmosphere..by the way, I'm not condoning what happened at Brechin (flares/smokebombs & the damage to the coach), just saying - crack down on the minority who were behaving like Neds but don't demonise all the young guys who go - they do try to create an atmosphere!

Meeting with the Chairman 30th Aug
Fair enough - at least we seem to have stuck with stripes, which helps. We had a red black & blue striped home top a few years ago, which was fine. I can't bring myself to buy the current home top at all (do have the away one though..). I wonder how many other people out there have been put off buying red white & blue ICT tops as well?

Transfer in and outs
Looks like OFW will be back up to Ridgers then....

Meeting with the Chairman 30th Aug
I agree, we have too much history now as ICTFC - yes, there probably was a time for a name/colour change (for me, 1997 would have been right - when we added 'Inverness' to the club name, should have just left it as 'Inverness FC' ...& I speak as a former Jaggie!). Only complaint I have with club colours is - red white & blue, c'mon! Can't we at least have red black & blue! Less negative connitations with Sevco!!

Brechin City -V- Inverness CT
I wasn't at the game, but my Wife was...she tells me that the stewarding/police were heavy handed, but I would agree that the idiots who think it's ok to let flares/smoke bombs off probably set the tone...I have ZERO sympathy for the ar#*holes who ley of the flares..way to go, giving tbe club a bad name!!

Meeting with the Chairman 30th Aug
My apologies - the 'tat shop' is actually the VisitScotland shop/hub in the High St! Still think a merchandising tie-up here might be a good idea though?

Transfer in and outs
I'm sure, given the money that's floating around English football, that he would get a good offer, even at, for example, league 1 level. Re the USA offer, I'm just going by what Robbo said at the open evening. If OFW is injured, then we, of course, should be supporting him in recovering from that - I would say that's a contractual obligation on the club's part - however, he needs to do his bit too, especially if he has activated his release clause and wants to leave...

Transfer in and outs
That's a good point & one I tried to get across - if OFW has ambitions to play at a high level (e.g.renain in the Welsh squad), he really needs to be playing regularly, which he clearly isn't going to do with us. If he wants to sit and get paid for a season with us, well, that's his prerogative, but it's hardly going to do his career much good - he isn't that old & would realistically expect to have a good few years left to play yet.
-
Transfer in and outs
We'll never know the answer to that - I would have liked to keep The Brill at the time, but don't suppose there was room for them both, so didn't have a problem with the decision to retain OFW then, but if he wants to continue playing at a high level, he needs to be playing regular 1st team football, which I doubt he will get here. Robbo did say that if he was still on our books when the transfer window closes, he would be in the team - but, I can't see him playing OFW ahead of Ridgers.
-
Transfer in and outs
Is Mitch Megginson an ex Aberdeen player?
-
Transfer in and outs
From what I heard from Robbo at the open meeting, OFW instigated the relegation release clause himself - it wasn't the club. I fully appreciate he was playing with an injury last season & applaud him for that (as I did at the time) - would also accept this is a cause of some of his erratic performances last season. However - Robbo categoricaly stated that he has TURNED DOWN OFFERS FROM OTHER CLUBS - how can you justify that? Including an offer from the USA, I believe (apparently that's what he'd like to do). If he goes, all tbe best to him. I'm not against the club supporting players (of course I'm not!), but I find it hard to see how the club is in the wrong here. If the club were that ruthless, they wouldn't be supporting Aaron Doran with his career threatening injury, would they! We would all be (quite rightly) up in arms as well...
