  1. I fear the same thing may happen again, with the changes made - however, like the look of Seedorf & Calder so far. I would have loved to have kept Munro as long as possible (do feel he could have had at least another season with us, but that's in the past), but ageing players do need replacing at some point! Will definetly need to think about who follows Warren & Raven at some point ( they who replaced the stalwarts, have become stalwarts themselves!) - neither are getting any younger..maybe Seedorf & Calder are the start of this? Not sure about Eldson, seems decent, but think he is just here to get game time - if he's decent enough, Boro would probably keep him or sell him on... Mind you, we got Tansey (& Doran too, I think) as a result of sucessful loan deals, so you never know..
  2. That's exactly my thoughts - I remember being pretty pi*%ed off when our stalwarts such as Tokeley, Munro & Russel D were released for players I'd heard of, but, like you said, little room for sentiment with these sorts of decisions & it was the right decision, in hindsight. Glad I don't have to make them!!
  3. Maybe, but I thought he did fine last season (despite the goals leaked - mainly down to RF tactics leaving the centre halfs exposed) - and some erratic goalkeeping from OFW!! Probably got a point though, could see him going after this season - think he is contract is up at the end of this season? Whether he stays or goes, Raves will always be welcome up here - will never forget seeing him score the winning goal at Hampden against Celtic! Sentiment aside, do take your point - he isn't getting younger but think he's worth seeing out the year left on his contract - but if Robbo can bring in younger talent on his wage, then, maybe worth saying 'adios'
  4. Yeah, I did wonder when I heard that call for Mr Alan Gow! Didn't realise that Daryl Duffy was up front for us...doesn't say much, not impressed at all. As an aside, didn't they both break through at Falkirk when a certain Yogi Hughes was manager? Will probably go to the Clach game on Tues - I'm a glutton for punishment!
  5. Pretty fair assessment...not too worried, like someone else said, probably learn more from this (e.g.Mulraney ISN'T a striker...) than a thumping win. We were fine 1st half & if we'd had a proper striker playing, surely would have scored. Pretty grim 2nd half though.. Agree that both Calder & Seedorf looked decent. The clach boys & trialists were better last night against Nairn..!
  6. Aye, it was Chalmers who got the 2nd...
  7. 1 - 0 ICT..haven't a clue who scored...
  8. Just like 'a question of sport'...
  9. They are, I think, longer term prospects - the core of the team is still there & these guys will have to prove they can cut it - Robbo must be fairly confident in some of them as some, like Elbouzadi & Seedorf are on 2 year deals, I believe. Fully expect Mulraney to kick on this season & be much more influential. Who knows, 1 years experience & a manager who actually has some tactical knowledge may work wonders..
  10. Think that sums it up..interesting to see these guys all play - going to Elgin tomorrow & might go to Nairn tonight as well..
  11. Good news there - plenty of positive good signings
  12. Sounds sensible - hope Robbo is true to his word & is under no pressure to sell Draper - definetly a big fat NOOOO to selling him on the cheap!!
  13. Really, really DON'T want to lose Drapes to the Mallard Minks but Think this is what will, realistically happen - the £80k offer is a total insult, but if we get a sizeable offer, we may have to sell, in the interests of the team. Would be happy if we could give Drapes a contract extension, as this may entice him to stay - he is a lynchpin of our team, but we've lost out in the past by not selling (Tansey, anyone?) and nobody is bigger than the team, after all. May come down to what Ross himself decides is best for his future...
  14. Totally - Brad has always been great at keeping contact with the fans via twitter (to the extent thst I remember him apologising on twitter after he had a howler of a game against Killie!). Get the impression that Brad's someone who enjoys being at our club & being a part of it
  15. Yep, definetly need to give the team time to gel - hopefully we will make better 'Progress' than Sevco... we made a better stab at European football!! In fairness, our squad was probably in need of a thorough overhaul... Will be very suprised if OFW is still with us for much longer - suspect he's busy looking for another club just now, presumably we would negotiate a release for him as I believe he's still under contract? Pretty positive signings so far though...
  16. Sounds like a plan...only other name I could think of was Barry Wilson. Would happily see CC in this role..
  17. I really hope not, but suspect you may be right - worth offering Drapes a contract extension, to show how much he is valued & provide a bit more security for him & his family?
  18. I read somewhere that he has agreed terms with us but don't know if he's actually signed yet.
  19. It's a difficult one - Tansey springs to mind as well, in hindsight we might have been better taking the £200k that Aberdeen were willing to pay 2 Januarys ago..
  20. My thoughts too - OFW must be on his way out, I see no reason as to why we would have signed Ridgers otherwise. Definetly have to keep Drapes if possible - but as others have said, it's got a lot to do with what Ross feels is best for himself & his family. On thr bright side, at least its not Aberdeen that are chasing him!!
  21. Definetly-there can't be anyone on here who would be happy to see Drapes go, whatever the fee involved is! I'm suprised that no other club is in for him-kinda expected him to be heading along the A96...or down the A9 to Perth...glad he is still here, long may that continue!!
  22. That's my hope too...like RiG said,i was happy enough with RF's signings last year but feel confident as we seem to be strengthening the positions right through the team
