  1. We'll never know the answer to that - I would have liked to keep The Brill at the time, but don't suppose there was room for them both, so didn't have a problem with the decision to retain OFW then, but if he wants to continue playing at a high level, he needs to be playing regular 1st team football, which I doubt he will get here. Robbo did say that if he was still on our books when the transfer window closes, he would be in the team - but, I can't see him playing OFW ahead of Ridgers.
  2. Is Mitch Megginson an ex Aberdeen player?
  3. From what I heard from Robbo at the open meeting, OFW instigated the relegation release clause himself - it wasn't the club. I fully appreciate he was playing with an injury last season & applaud him for that (as I did at the time) - would also accept this is a cause of some of his erratic performances last season. However - Robbo categoricaly stated that he has TURNED DOWN OFFERS FROM OTHER CLUBS - how can you justify that? Including an offer from the USA, I believe (apparently that's what he'd like to do). If he goes, all tbe best to him. I'm not against the club supporting players (of course I'm not!), but I find it hard to see how the club is in the wrong here. If the club were that ruthless, they wouldn't be supporting Aaron Doran with his career threatening injury, would they! We would all be (quite rightly) up in arms as well...
  4. Some NC500 merchandise for sale in the club shop (NOT the portakabin one, of course..) alongside our stuff...have seen NC500 stuff for sale in a 'tourist tat' shop in the High St...maybe an opportunity to sell club merchandise there as well?
  5. It's a very convincing OFW impression from last season, shame it was against the mob frae Govan though....
  6. Surely if OFW has any self respect, he will be looking to find another club ASAP - suprised to hear that he has turned down offers already, seems strange to me - is he trying to take us for a ride? I fear so..
  7. Steady on!! Hope you're right though, given that Brechin have had a draw with Livvy & only narrowly defeated by Dundee Utd, does give grounds for optimism. Big test will be the next game, which is St Midden away, I believe? That'll give us a good indication of where we are. Will hopefully make that one..
  8. Sort of know what you mean - the semi final was a far better game...BUT...I'll never forget the final either - have watched it countless times since then too!
  9. Why don't the club offer him a contract extension to the end of this season, on the wage that the new members of the current squad are playing for? If he wants to stay, he may accept a much lower wage - if he finds another club for a better deal, then fair enough. Both Raves & the club win that way...
  10. I was there myself, but to be honest, I was just looking to hear what they had to say...was happy with what came out of the meeting.
  11. Long term, it would be great to see the west end area being properly developed, but think that's a long way off, both timewise & financially...
  12. Hopefully this will give the team a boost & help get rid of the 'mental fragility' that Robbo alluded to...clean sheets would be great as well...
  13. That was my thoughts too - suprised it wasn't raised as one of the questions submitted as the group from this forum.. Hopefully as far as the club crest goes, a phoenix will become appropriate..rising from the ashes of relegation!
  14. It's something I have to (reluctantly) agree with - David Raven is, and always will be, an ICT legend. I can see where Robbo is coming from as well though.. I feel for Raven, as I get the impression he wouldn't want to leave the area...as I said on another thread, maybe a potential new recruit for Brora/CRC Evans..! However, think Robbo has been fair enough with his thoughts as well..Raven is getting on a bit & he is probably past his best (sorry David!). A hard one, this...we had to let go if the likes of Golabek, Munro & Tokeley before - this feels similarly like the end of an era...sort of!
  15. 100% agree - it's excellent to see the club start to follow through on the promises made at the open evening
  16. Haven't seen any posts on Twitter from 'North Stand Rising'...
  17. At least it's not 3 Years!! Really hope we are not still paying Yogi as well (doubt it, circumstances of his departure were different - it was a 'by mutual consent' type departure I think, guessing he got a payout of part/all of his contract when he left). Personally, if it's a 6 month notice, I can live with that - not ideal, but think the club got off lightly (apart from being relegated, obviously!), given RF had a 4 year deal (madness ....).
  18. Personally, I think is IS acceptable (just..), given that it's the start of the season & that there have been so many personnel changes (both on & off the park). The club is going through some major changes (including rebuilding most of the 1st team). I would take some positives from the game, but things are very much a work in progress just now. If it was the 2nd half of the season, I would totally agree with you that a home draw with Morton wasn't acceptable, but, c'mon, we need to be realistic - Robbo made the point at the meeting that some of the players haven't played regular 1st team football before! I'm hoping for a gradual improvement & would be happy with mid-table by Dec/Jan, with a push for a playoff spot. If we are in contention for the title, brilliant - but I'd be pleasantly suprised....
  19. Totally agree, was a positive but realistic meeting. Hope they follow through on it all.
  20. Fair point....but CC wasn't dismissed, he stepped down from the job & he did a decent job (from what I remember). Maybe RF will return, but now definetly isn't the time...think he'd be too divisive a figure.
  21. I don't have a problem with having him as a backup to Tremarco - can't help thinking that the only reason we still have Carl at all is that he is out injured just now...otherwise someone would have taken him. After all, how long was Carl an understudy to Graeme Shinnie? Have to plan ahead... Haven't been convinced by Chalmers at all, but hopefully will improve (as he did against Morton) as the whole team starts to gel properly.
  22. I wouldn't bet against David Raven joining the Brora/ CRC Evans crew....! I thought Robbo was refreshingly honest about the player situation, I can see his point re Raves, as much as I'd like him to stay, as for OFW, that's another matter - here's hoping he finds a club soon! Foran...don't think it would be right for him to be involved with the club in any capacity, right now anyway..I can only hope he isn't on gardening leave for the next 3 years! All in all, though, a positive & honest meeting - if things continue on the same track, feel that we are (finally) heading in the right direction. Particularly welcome the acknowledgement that it's not all just about the 1st team, to the detriment of everything else...
