  1. We won't know for sure until the season starts in anger, but I share your optimism!! Also saw on twitter that Elbouzedi has apparently agreed terms with us..
  2. Seems like a decent, useful & skillful guy - makes me wonder how we've managed to sign him!
  3. Definetly...maybe the lure of staying in the Highlands may swing it!
  4. Definetly a worthwhile signing - suprised the Fortune Tellers released him to be honest. Think he only left Aberdeen as he didn't settle there & wanted to stay in this area, if I remember correctly? A 'no-brainer' signing, I think...
  5. Hope so...potential to be our talisman next season (no pressure there...). Mind you, I haven't actually seen him play yet!
  6. Would assume that OFW will be departing shortly (if this wasn't imminent, wouldn't have thought that Ridgers would have been signed) - with Esson concentrating on coaching. Would leave Ridgers, MacKay & Hoban - presumably MacKay or Hoban will go out on loan somewhere?
  7. Hopefully the cohesion in the team will get better (it has to!), planning along to either Nairn on Fri or Elgin on Sat - see what's what. Given the rather large rebuilding job which Robbo is undertaking just now, I'm not expecting anything too dramatic...
  8. Agree with comments that it's good news we have allegedly knocked back £50k for Draper - that,at least, shows a bit of ambition. Draper's a big asset and must be tempting for the club to cash in on him..glad they haven't (yet, anyway...). Only thing worse than seeing Drapes in a Dons top would be seeing him playing for the mob over the bridge..
  9. Second that - sounds like Elbouzedi could be one of those signings who could capture the imagination/headlines. Here's hoping anyway!! Myst try & get along to one of the friendlies & see the team in action..
  10. I'm not too worried about injury histories - yes, that may backfire, but as Naelifts said, this is the pond we are fishing in.. Seem to remember Craig Dargo came to us after hardly playing for Killie due to injuries & he worked out ok..players with that sort of history may have a point to prove & a shop window to put themselves in. Hoping we will get a good run of games out of Aaron Doran this season - he, along with Mulraney would be deadly (if Jake can deliver the end product, that is).
  11. I might not have agreed with you about the club deliberately misleading the fans to renew our season tickets (I don't think they are on the ball enough to have thought that far ahead to be honest...) - can see where you're coming from, though, but fear you may be right about preparing for a stint in the lower leagues - nothing that's happened over the past few days has inspired any confidence about a serious push for promotion.
  12. Suprised he is still with us to be honest - top guy, if he wasn't carrying an injury think he would have been snapped up already
  13. It's extremely unprofessional, that's for sure! In fact, it's embarrasing - if the club can't offer a new contract, they could have at least the decency to tell the players face to face. What other workplace would an employer get away with offering a job & then taking it away again! Hardly going to encourage new signings, is it!
  14. I would think you can either afford a season ticket or not afford one - who is in/out of the team us immaterial. I've not exactly got money dribbling out of my pocket either!! If we don't buy season tickets or go to the games, its hardly going to help. Its a fair point about the club lacking ambition, but I'll reserve judgement on that until end of the season. I only get to about, roughly, 60% of the games due to work commitments - it's just my way of doing my bit to help the club - don't want to be one of the folk who just turn up for the 'big' games. Robbo can hardly help it if some of the players have better offers elsewhere - they can't promise who will/won't be remaining at the club! To me, that's part of the challenge for Robbo - I don't think there is any big conspiracy here..
  15. Was hardly his fault he sustained a serious injury!
  16. Do you think we could have attracted a player of his calibre if he hadn't been looking to play regular 1st team football? I'm sorry to see him go, maybe not the quickest but an intelligent player who would have veen a big asset this season. All the best, Kev
  17. Hardly - I don't buy my season ticket on the basis of transfer dealings, I buy it to support the team, whoever is in it
  18. Be warned that my Brother-in-law drinks (& lives) in Brechin !
  19. If you're driving, just head up the M90/A90-it passes Brechin. If by train, go from Edinburgh (Gateway station is closest, but there's a bus link to Haymarket & Waverley too) - not sure about the Tram link, think the bus may be quicker. Train to Montrose & a local bus to Brechin (it's about 8 or 9 miles). Haven't a clue about bussing it from Edinburgh...
  20. Boden? Well, if we can find other options - would prefer Baird to Boden, but very light up front as has been said. If Robbo can find another striker, then fair enough. Up front is a position that I'm sure Robbo will know exactly the sort of player to go for.. OFW? I do like him but he has been far too erratic lately. If we can lighten the wage bill, probably worth moving on. Chris Coleman will hardly be picking players from the championship anyway, I wouldn't think
  21. It's Mark Ridgers (Ally's younger brother) - ex hearts & st mirren
  22. Only talking about Nick Ross - should start a thread about worst ex players, methinks...nightmare ICT XI! Goalkeeper-malkowski, have to put Vetle Andresen in defence too - must take some personality to rile Pele!
  23. I wouldn't be suprised at all - assuming that if Draper is under contract, that we would be due a fee (barring any relegation release clauses aside). Wouldn't blame either of them if they went, thought Meekings would be away anyway, but would be really gutted if we lost Draper - it's been said that 'when Draper plays well, Inverness play well). Would love to see Nick Ross back - can't understand the negative comments on here about him! Yes, he isn't Ross Draper (or Greg "I've got the move I always wanted" Tansey) but if Drapes goes, our midfield will definetly need shoring up & a player who knows the club (& some of the players) would be an asset. We need to remember the market we are in & the level of player we can attract - either young 'rough diamonds' or older players with a point to prove (e.g released by another club). Think Rory Mcallister is a non starter - maybe he's just training with us to keep his fitness up?
