  1. Pearson was doing what I shout at Walsh to do every time he plays, stay wide, get the ball, be direct and run at defenders, get to the bye line and cross the ball. He gives us an out ball when we are going forward. The only thing he needs to work on is getting a relationship with Carson or whoever is at right back, and tracking back to help, Carson was exposed on more than one occasion last night when Tiffony's pace caught them out. Certainly a must start in the next game.
  2. Well, I have just about defrosted, and that was a better performance than Saturdays, but that wouldn't be hard. Really poor defending for all the partick goals, and it just shows that not recruiting any defenders in the transfer window has come back to bite us. It was an epic effort to come back three times, and a last gasp equaliser always gives a little hope. How the ICT players can keep their cool playing against that cheat Graham deserves praise, I would get a 5 month ban if I was on the park against him! Pearson was the standout for me, and Billy Mckay worked his socks off, Sutherland had a better second half as did Carson. I'm sure Dodds will come out of hiding now and do his interview but the cracks are still there, we really can't be conceding three goals at home and expect to win.
  3. Just back from the match, any bets to see if Dodds does an interview tonight.
  4. I thought that it was telling that there was no post match interview from Billy Dodds on the ICT channel after the morton debacle. Was this because he couldn't face the supporters after the boos that rang out at the final whistle, or what he was going to say this time? In my opinion, the club have never been good at communicating with the supporters, but it seems to have gotten worse in recent times. Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a greater disconnect between the club and supporters.
  5. It is a must win game for us, but can the team and management rise to meet the challenge? I have my doubts. The thing that is blaringly obvious to me is, that a team that is doing the business, for instance Arbroath, would run through a brick wall for the manager, sweat blood and leave nothing out on the pitch, and I just don't see that with us. If a team gets beat, but goes down fighting, you can take some comfort that they gave everything but were beaten fair and square. Desire, motivation and tactical awareness are severely lacking, and that rests with Billy Dodds to sort it out.
  6. Do they not count the season tickets sold, and add on any away fans and walk ups? If the don't, I just don't know where they got the total from, I was there, and it was the smallest crowd I have seen this season.
  7. In the transfer window, the team was crying out for a player to play behind the strikers, a number 10, a playmaker, to create chances and link the play between the midfield and strikers, but we got a load of forwards! We should have used all the wages from that on a playmaker, someone like in the mould of a Scott Allan. We have lost all our creative players for one reason or another, and now just hump the ball forward to our small forwards, who have no chance against the oppositions big centre backs, it's crazy. For instance, the weather yesterday was a day for playing the ball on the deck, run with the ball and get into the box and make the defenders having to put a tackle in, but no, we were still punting it into the box at the end of the game. It's up to the manager to get the formation, the personnel and the motivation right, but sadly, I just don't think the management team and Dodds has the ability to do that.
  8. At this point of our season, being on tv will just show more people our short comings. The teams at the bottom want to stay in this league more than we want to win it, they show more fight and more desire to get those precious three points.
  9. I said before the game that we had to come firing out of the blocks, work our socks off and hunt the ball down in packs, if we wanted the three points, we did none of these, so we we got nothing from the game.
  10. The gardyne incident is certainly a factor in our dip in form, he could unlock defences, and we do not have am abundance of ball players in the squad. Doran missing is another factor, bur for me, the overwhelming reason for our predicament is Dodds cannot change tactics when things are not working. Today for instance, we persisted with the long ball through the middle, and their number 5 just headed everything away, Dodds should have the tactical awareness to change it, but we were still doing it in the final minutes.
  11. Well, I didn't think we could play any worse after the last home game, but I was wrong, that was a hard watch. If we hadn't had that good run of wins at the beginning of the season, I reckon we would be in a relegation fight now. We seem to have no game plan, just pump aimless balls through the middle, it's not as if we have a target man, and their centre half had a field day, heading all the balls away. Dodds is incapable of seeing what tactics need changing, strange subs and no motivation. We were crying out for a playmaker in the transfer window and he brings in strikers, does he not realise we need someone to create the chances! If things don't change quickly, I can see my pre season prediction of 5th coming true.
  12. I agree, ever since they said there would be better communication with the supporters, it seems like it's getting worse.
  13. The Arbroath team shows what you can achieve if you work your socks off, from the first whistle, and not what we do for the last ten minutes, when we usually throw the kitchen sink at teams, when we are chasing the game. Let's fire right out of the blocks tomorrow, close them down, hunt in packs, and try to get control of the game from the start.
  14. I have questioned some of Billy Dodds tactical ability in the past, but this is not the time to talk about changing managers. Point 1, we can't afford it, point 2, we have to give the new players time to see what they can do, point 3, who is out there that would come, and could they get more out of the same group of players? Maybe it's the coaching, or maybe it's about motivation that seems to be affecting the team. Dodds came out with the statement that some of the players don't believe we can get promotion, well if that's the case, play others who do, whether the are younger hungrier players or the new boys, get them in the team instead of the same old players virtually guaranteed their starting place no matter what form they're in. Longer term, I noticed Carl Tremarco as part of the county coaching team on Saturday against rangers. He is obviously gaining Premier experience and would be a good motivator, and he could become a contender for a coaching role at ICT in the future.
  15. Our results against the bottom sides are truly awful. Is it because they are desperately trying to stay in this league more than we want to win this league? And you do have to question players playing out of position, it's like trying to put square pegs into round holes, it clearly doesn't work. Too many players form has dipped over the last several weeks, and I know that sometimes the squad had been a little thin, but I now think it's time for some of the younger players to have a go, you never know, there might be a gem amongst them just waiting for their chance.
  16. Another very poor display, not helped the atrocious Collum. A good referee should be almost invisible in a game, not vying for the starring role. In my pre-season prediction, I said that I thought ICT would end up outside of the playoffs, and if we keep producing performances like this and dropping points, that's where we're heading. We are desperately needing to beef up the squad, and need some new faces quickly. Another game where we couldn't fill the bench and our options to change things were limited. We are desperately needing to find some players who can beat a man and get a shot away, too many times we took too much time on the ball. Three points are a priority in our next game.
  17. I had a run in with one of the stewards last season, when he decided to talk to me like I was dirt on his shoe. So I gave him the hairdryer treatment and told him that I can understand how there is trouble at matches if that's how he speaks to the supporters of the club. Maybe the club need to explain what their job description is.
  18. It shows what a strange league this is when the only part time team top the league and the favourites to go up (kilmarnock) just sack their manager.
  19. I have now come to the conclusion that Billy Dodds is incapable of changing tactics when things are not going well. We play the same way for 90 minutes, no change no matter what takes place and subs used far too late on in the game. Simple passes were needed to just keep the ball but we just keep punting it up the park to the opposition and it just keeps coming back, it was just a matter of time till they scored, very poor. We had a chance today to consolidate our place at the top of the league, and we blew it big time. The ref was woeful as well.
  20. Great result. We were the better team, and we kept up closing them down for the whole game. Everyone played their part and the game management towards the end of the match was so much better. We just need to pick better passes in the final third and more goals will come. Sean's goal was a thing of beauty.
  21. Well I thought the morton game was bad but this was dire. After a couple of good moves in the first half, we seemed to lose any tactics we had by just kicking the ball up the park. Where does all the coaching go, where is all the combination play and the triangles that you need to play good football? I know that it's not the greatest cup competition but it's a chance for fringe players to show what they've got, but on this show, apart from harper and Mackay, it isn't much.
  22. If the squad players are fit, it's about time they are given a shout for the first eleven. Anthony Mcdonald was impressive in his loan spell with us, but hasn't had a sniff this season, and Jameison always looks good when he gets a few minutes, Harper as well maybe needs another go. I'm all for retaining a settled team, if they are delivering the goods, but if not, things need to change. As for the tactics, far too many hopeful balls punted up the park, only for the opposition to mount another attack. Where, or what is Billy Dodds plan B? Our tactics never seem to change when we go behind, there has to be a change that will impact on the opposition. We have a lot of important games coming up over the next two weeks, and it could go a long way to defining our season.
  23. Over my many years watching football, most good teams have always had, what some might call, a destroyer, some physical strength, in the midfield, we currently do not, and in my humble opinion was one of our problems last night. A few seasons ago we had Carson, who was lost to the middle of the park to fill the right back berth, then we had Allardice, who was also moved from the midfield to right back, and last night we never had control of the midfield. We had two wing men, and two centre mids, and it just wasn't enough. If we are going to win games we need to win the midfield, and we haven't done that recently.
  24. I don't know where yo start with that performance. We lost the midfield battle, we needed three in the middle, two wide and play one striker. We certainly miss an Allardice or Carson winning the ball, but too many players just didn't turn up or made the wrong final ball. And I lost count of second balls We lost. It was terrible conditions, but Arbroath seemed to handle it better. We need to turn this bad run if form around quickly or my prediction of us ending up fifth will come true. Partick are the best team we have played thus season, so Dodds will have to get his tactics right for Saturday. Really disappointed tonight. Can't think who will get my man of the match tonight.
  25. I think for Tuesday night against arbroath, we need to get Walsh back on the right wing, to try and drag their back four wide, and get behind their defence. There's too many sideways passes and not enough getting to the byline. We also need to start the game like the way we play after we are behind. There have been games, like the second half against partick, where we throw the kitchen sink at them, but we should be doing this from the first whistle and then manage the game to the final whistle.
