  1. You have to start with your strongest eleven, and if Carson and Duffy were on the bench, then they should have started. It would be better to try and get a foot I'm the game first, and if those players could only give Dodds half a game, it's better to try and get some traction in the game, than having to try and rescue it when we are two goals down. This was a game when our midfield were posted missing. It really shows how much Welsh was missed from this game. I am always in the opinion that you have to win the midfield to have any chance to win the game, and we came up short there. We could have had Carson on at right back, put Hyde in midfield and had another midfielder in there and sacrificed a forward player. I know it's all iffs and buts, but to keep Hyde at right back against Tiffony was criminal from Dodds, Hyde had a couple of dodgy moments against Cove, so everyone apart from Dodds thought it was a disaster waiting to happen after 30 seconds of the game. I really hope Dodds learns from this result, as do the players, as they must know that they were left hopelessly shown up with this performance. Let's hope they come out with fire in their bellies in our next game against Morton.
  2. Well, that was the worst performance from ICT for some time. We had no energy, no quality to our play and as usual no plan B from Dodds. Take nothing away from Partick, they were good all over the park, but we didn't help ourselves with the tactics and terrible passing. As soon as I saw Hyde was playing, and was up against Tiffony, I thought we were in trouble. For Dodds to give him that task was a disaster waiting to happen for the young player. We needed to win the midfield and if that meant sacrificing a forward player, so be it. It was the wrong formation, the wrong lineup and the wrong tactics. I really hope Dodds learns something from this, or it's going to be a long hard season.
  3. Come on the Thistle from Inverness, get into those Thistles from Partick!
  4. For part-time Arbroath to have signed him over us, I really hope the only reason that he isn't with us is that he didn't want to sign for ICT, or he didn't want to relocate from his Edinburgh home, I know the CEO has said how hard it is to get players to sign for us from the central belt, and that it's easier to get players from England and Ireland to come north. For me, he would have been player we have been missing, a genuine number 10, the final piece in our squad in our push for promotion. If, as you say, it comes out that we didn't try hard enough, or at all, then shame and short-sightedness of ICT.
  5. I would have him back in a second, he's the number 10 we could really do with, but I think his wage demands may be outwith our reach. Hibs would have been probably paying a high percentage of his wage when he was on loan to us. I do think that if he wants to put himself in the shop window, and sacrifice big wages for regular football, there's no better club than ICT.
  6. I thought Aaron Doran had his best game for us in a long time, and he looked to have a good pass in him every time he got the ball. I think if one piece is unfortunately missing from the team, it's Sean Welsh, he controls the midfield, and when Cove made changes to the second half, and brought on Vigures, that's when the game nearly changed against us. Dodds needed to react to the change, we were being overrun in the midfield, but the third goal eased our worries. For me, the Jags best CM trio is Welsh, Allardice and Macgregor. In an ideal world, another right back would be great, and that would allow Carson to play in his preferred role in CM, giving us more options in there. Someone said to me that Max Ram can play there, but as he has an injury problem, we will have to wait and see. Let's just carry this good form through to the battle of the Jags on Friday.
  7. A great win and three points, with quite a depleted squad, seven players out. We played some nice football first half, but lost our way a bit in the second, until we started short direct passes again. I thought Deas, Delaney Allardice and Samuels were the pick, but, for me, it was our best performance so far this season. When Cove came more into the game, we had to dig deep, because if Cove had equalised, we might have struggled to get the win. If we can play like we did for long spells in this game, we won't be far away from promotion at the end of the season.
  8. I was a season ticket holder at Inverness Thistle, and went to every home and away game, when work allowed. I never wanted the merger, I would have happily stayed in the Highland League, and I have yet to speak to any Thistle or Caley fan who did, and I remember an interview which I think was on STV when they interviewed David Sutherland, and they asked him about the opposition from both sets of fans to the merger, and his response was something along the lines of, if they don't want to come, we'll get new supporters! That was the wrong tact to take, he needed to do all he could to take the fans along with the new club, not alienate them. I have been a season ticket holder at ICT since around 2010, as I could only go to certain games due to shift work. It has been hard for a Jaggie over the years to hear the crowd shout Caley all the time, and with the criticism from some quarters to the new away strip, take a wee look back to the first few home strips, and see how much red were in them. I was, and still am of the opinion that the club should have changed it's name and colours, mix blue and red and you get purple, not many teams play in that colour, and I posted on here before that I read a letter in the courier at the time, that someone suggested that you take the CA from Caley, and the STLE from Thistle to form Castle, Inverness Castle FC. A lot of teams, as someone pointed out, change their names, but I believe that there would be too much opposition to that.
  9. I thought ICT started brightly, and had three good chances in the first ten minutes, then Queens Park grew into the game and had chances of their own. Their goal came from us letting their player run from almost the half way line, and not putting a tackle in, someone needed to just bring him down, take one for the team, like they did late in the game to stop us scoring. We need to start passing the ball quicker, too many times we were caught in possession, and we need to be stronger in the 50/50 tackles. I thought that Billy Mckay, Macgregor and Carson were the pick for us. It's only the first game, and we will build as the season progresses. I've got us down for promotion this season, so we better!
  10. Yes, they've updated it now to 11. We will wait with bated breath now to see who we get in the next round.
  11. I see on the BBC Scotland football page, the final group points for ICT is 10 points, but should it not be 11, 3 wins, 1 draw and an extra point for the penalty win. It's just an observation as I don't think it will affect our chance of a seeding.
  12. The game did have a pre-season feel to it, and would have been a different contest had both clubs had something to play for. I thought Cove's play acting was well over the top, and the ref had a particularly bad game in my opinion, being conned multiple times by the Cove players. We had some nice spells of play, it was our final ball that let us down. We had some good performers, but I really think we missed Sean Welsh in the midfield, he controls the pace and picks a good pass. Really looking forward to the new season next Saturday, and just a word for the fantastic Red and black strip, magnificent, I bought one from the shop today, it really is a beauty.
  13. Yes, I agree. The live streams were a welcome bonus when I couldn't make some of the games last season, and I unfortunately couldn't attend the Albion game on Tuesday, due to unforseen circumstances, but could have watched it had it been streamed. I understand that the club want as many folk to attend games, but there must also be lost income from fans that don't live locally but still want to support the club. Maybe a better, or longer highlights package could be made available?
  14. A great three points. I must admit that I was a little concerned when I heard we were taking Allardice off and replacing him with Oakley, was he injured? It left us very light in central midfield.
  15. I had ICT finishing in 5th place last season! I am more optimistic this season. ICT Dundee Partick Thistle Cove Rangers Arbroath Queens Park Raith Rovers Ayr United Hamilton Morton
  16. Looking good Jaggie George! What an amazing shirt.
  17. Maybe we should be playing all our home games at Grant Street! We seem to like finding the net there.
  18. I saw him play against Brora, and thought he looked composed on the ball and had a bit of pace, it will be interesting to see how he looks against better opposition.
  19. Superb as usual lads. My predictions for last season were no better, I thought we'd be 5th and Dunfermline would be in the playoffs!!!
  20. He never really stood out at Brora, if I didn't know about him, he wouldn't have caught my eye. I thought the number 17, who I believe was Zac Delaney, had a good half, he has some pace and didn't panic under pressure.
  21. Superb as usual lads. Thanks for asking my questions, and getting the answers. The content was informative and entertaining, and it looks like the way forward is optimistic. I think it was said that Inverness Thistle last won the league fifty years ago, but it was thirty five years ago 1986/87 season. I was also there to witness them winning back to back league titles in 1971/72 & 1972/73, and it was the 71/72 league title win where Caledonian beat Elgin City 5-3 to give the Jags the win, A match I attended, and it was indeed some game. Three clubs one history should, in my view, be incorporated into the badge, instead of the pride of the Highlands, that was used on some occasions. Well done again lads, and I'll look forward to the next podcast.
  22. This, for me, is the shirt that we have been wanting for such a long time. When I say we, I refer to myself and my son. I really believe that this shirt will be a big seller, and I can see it being a hit with the away support as well. Well done ICT and whoever was responsible for it.
  23. I couldn't agree more. I worked for a bespoke tailoring firm in my late teens, and bespoke means made to measure for the client. We also had suits that were off the peg in various sizes, so unless the shirts are going to be individually made to customers sizes and specifications, they are not bespoke.
  24. I know that the physical matchday programme wasn't viable, but what happened to the online one on match days? Surely the club wasn't out of pocket producing that one? Raffle tickets need to be pushed more, we can hardly ever find one. Why don't they have a table set up after you come through the turnstiles, that way the club would sell more? They should also have a steward directing traffic out of the car parks, it's a free for all on busy matchdays, with most drivers not giving an inch. If someone was there to direct the cars, so they were let out in turn, it would run a lot easier. The communication with fans is very poor. We were told a few seasons ago that it was something the club wanted to improve on, but, if it wasn't for the Wyness Shuffle lads, we would be more in the dark. The club also said, at that meeting that the Match day experience was going to be improved, but, if anything, it's got worse.
  25. If we can keep Roddy, Sean, Scott and David Carson fit for next season, we will have a formidable midfield.
