  1. This could be a good signing. I always thought he looked a good player at Hearts and Hibs.
  2. The talk in the stands at the Ayr match was that Donaldson going OTB is happening and that Vincent wants to return. I'm sure there will be rumours and rumours about rumours untill our journey in the playoffs comes to an end.
  3. A strange game, we didn't know whether to stick or twist. Not a great performance, we were making Ayr look good, but we did enough to get through. I hope Walsh hasn't damaged his hamstring too much, but young McDonald looked lively when he came on, and Rooney gave us some much needed width later on. We just need to recover as quickly as possible, and give it a good go on Tuesday. Hurdle number one cleared.
  4. I have been a Jaggie since late 60's. Over the years, I have kept some personal records, especially the title wins In the early 70's and every stat from 89 till 94. Programmes are like gold dust, and trying to get any INfo, especially from ICT Is Impossible.
  5. I hope these stats help with your project. If you need anymore Info, team lines, just let me know. All the best
  6. We need to start on the front foot, try and get an early goal and take the wind of of Ayr's sails(did you see what I did there?). Can't wait.
  7. The Highland league is becoming too Aberdeen/East coast centric. With the loss of Thistle, Caley, Elgin and County to the Scottish league, there needs to be more teams being involved that actually come from the Highlands, whether it be colt teams from this area or teams from North Caledonian league promoted.
  8. Great news, he is an unsung hero in the middle of the park.
  9. It's quite ironic that Celtic and Motherwell didn't want Chalmers and he had to leave, and we want him to stay, and allegedly, he wants to go. I know it's the way football is now, there is no loyalty, but he has resurrected his career here, plays most games and has become an important member of the team, I feel his style won't suit OTB and he will just become a squad player. I'm sure Robbo has a few irons in the fire already for next season, the majority of his player recruitment has been good.
  10. I heard on the grapevine that Chalmers has just bought a house in Inverness, so it could be he is staying with us or going OTB, I can't see him commuting south for games.
  11. Renewed my season ticket and Jaggernaut jrs today.
  12. Well done to all the players and coaching staff at ICT, a terrific effort from one and all. Not the best game I have seen, but we did the business, maybe too many changes, and hopefully everyone will be fit for the playoffs.
  13. The product that was known as "the working mans game", where it was an escape on a Saturday, for a small entrance fee, to watch your local team play, is long gone. Money has spoiled the game so much now. It's all about budgets. The club need to budget for players wages, and they need to charge the supporters an equivalent amount to try and go someway to balance the books. Times have changed a lot since the 90's, people have a lot more options to spend their hard earned cash on, they too have to budget, and if it's a toss between going to the football, where they don't know what quality will be on offer or going to the cinema, where you do, then they may choose the latter, or something similar. I have watched football in Inverness since 1970, and it was the same problem with attendances in the Highland League then. Caledonian and Inverness Thistle were not blessed with huge attendances in Highland League games, but in cup competitions they could bring in a couple of thousand, and then back to a couple of hundred the following week. Whether it's apathy or some folk just wanting to spend their money on the more glamorous matches, who knows, but if half of them then, or half of them now would attend the league games, the club would be in a far healthier place, attract better players and hopefully put on a better product.
  14. I will be there, I haven't missed a home game this season, and I feel we will win, and have a sneaking suspicion that Ayr will lose to Alloa giving us third place.
  15. Great news regarding Mark. It brings some stability to the back line for next season, and maybe others will follow and extend their contracts.
  16. I hope that Liam can recreate the form he had a few seasons ago, as I think his form had stagnated recently, and go on to better things at Motherwell. A fresh start is probably what he has needed, a new challenge, and not to be the easy pick each game. Maybe having to fight for his first team berth will take Liam's game on to a new level. I wish him all the best for the future, and hope he finds happiness in his football career.
  17. The club probably picked who they thought were the most consistent performers, and didn't leave it open to all players so they wouldn't be left with egg on their faces like the year Raven was voted player of the year, when had hardly played and was told he was leaving by the club. It should be an open vote with everyone one included. Everyone has a different opinion of every player in every game. Just hear the gasps from the crowd when they announce the sponsors man of the match, that rarely coincides with what the majority of supporters think at the game.
  18. It was a very disappointing performance, especially after our last game against utd in the cup. We were well off the pace today, second to every ball and our passing game wasn't up to scratch. As I have said before on here, we have a good first eleven and we struggle when some of them are missing. Yesterday, we had Ridgers, Donaldson, Tremarco and Welsh out and it showed in the performance. Also some of our established players had an off day, and that combination is not going to win you matches. I thought we had a few chances in the first half, but it's the same old story, lack of a cutting edge, and then utd go and score with there first real attack. The other thing that was so obvious to all those sitting around me was how slow we are to counter. Time after time game after game, teams counter on us at speed and are at our box in a couple of passes, we on the other hand get the ball in good positions and turn back and let our opponents get back into their shape and try to play through them by passing it back and forth across the back four. It doesn't work, we don't have the quality to do that. As for that mazy run by young Mcdonald, I thought Austin could have gambled at the far post and slid in, but to have go at the young lad is unacceptable, that's Robbo's job if he sees fit. After the hand ball goal, by one of the leagues best divers, our heads went down, and I couldn't see us getting anything from the game, but with other results going our way we are in the play offs, something I didn't think we would achieve this season, so that's a plus point. Maybe the players were anxious going into the game knowing how much was at stake, who knows, but now we can get some players fit over the next two games and plan for our play off matches. If we play to our potential, we can do it.
  19. 5 McCart 3 Chalmers 1Ridgers
  20. I never had a good feeling about this game before the match. I said to my son that my prediction was 3-0 to Hearts (wish I had put money on it now!), and my son's was 2-1 to ICT. In the game as a whole, I thought we were second to most balls, didn't show enough belief in taking on a low confidence Hearts team and the old problem of lack of a cutting edge. The thing is that we are victims of our own success. We have had teams in the past where our players could pull a result out of the hat, and we would always have a spell where we could cause an upset, and now our expectations, since we won the Scottish Cup, exceed our ability. Saying that, at the start of the season, being in the semi final of the cup and securing (almost there) a playoff place, seemed to me to be shooting for the moon, so fair play to Robbo and the team for achieving all they have. The stark fact is that we have a good first 11, and just don't have the strength in depth to handle injuries and suspensions. I was surprised that Robbo didn't give one of the young lads the experience of a few minutes on the pitch of a Scottish Cup semi final at Hampden, as the game was already gone, instead of bringing on Austin. These young players are the future of the club, and I would have thought at least one of them that were on the bench would have got some game time in the dying embers of the game.
  21. A fantastic away win, especially since we were under strength, and it's nice to get the three points in a game that Robbo said if it ended in a draw he couldn't have any complaints, as in some games this season we have deserved all three but come away with one or none.
  22. Why do we get officials who have never refereed a game before? Or that's what it looked like with the performance from these clowns. Gave county every 5050 and should have given the county keeper a second yellow for time wasting, and draper for pushing mcCart. He was handing so many cards to us that I thought it might be Christmas! And please, if you read any of this Robbo, stop calling it the friendly derby! It's anything but. If we are going to pick up bookings for next to nothing, make them count.
  23. You hear some folk saying we're not ready for promotion, or we won't survive in the premier league. Surely, even if we become a yoyo club, it is better to have a season of good travelling support coming to Inverness, and a parachute payment if we get relegated, rather than another season in the championship and another reduction to the playing budget. Although I think Robbo has done wonders assembling a squad that has achieved a Scottish Cup semi final and a good chance of a play off place, you have to ask how much more can he do if the budget is slashed again for another season in this league.
  24. Thanks for letting me know. The final was no better, I have a blue disabled badge, and my son drove me down to Hampden, but the stewards wouldn't let me use a disabled parking bay as I hadn't pre book
