Missing the SPL?
What I miss is banter with work colleagues. Many of them are fans of SPL teams.

I think you are allowed to play in the rules if you are 21. Its three players under 21 you need in a squad for each match isn't it? How many of our players meet this requirement just now?Cox,Hayes,Odhiambo,Shinnie,Ross? I'm guessing Rooney is at least 22 now is well so not him. We really need to have a few good under 21's in the team to do well in the SPL. I think the reason Rory managed to gain a lot SPL games for us was more because of the rule rather than for his skill. Meaning the youth's really do have a part to play in the season. According to this site Rooney will be 23 on 21st of this month. We need a team of competing U-21's for SPL membership so there shouldn't be a shortage. This site is a wealth of information if people would just take the time to explore it.

League winners
If we were so lucky and refs were so generous towards us how come we've had a total of 61 yellows and 4 reds this season. We've also had seven different players serving suspensions.

The SunSport Golden Boot
I'm 100% behind chibber on this one. Too many people ignored the fact that he was only a young lad when with us.

League winners
I think the Pars may now start looking to next season and blood a few unseen faces so how things go, who knows. I'm sure it'll be a cracker though.

Getting lost in the maths
The maths are very simple and straightforward. We win two games and the trophy's ours. We win one and draw one then we could be faced with a last day epic. We win one. Dundee draw one. The trophy's ours. Simples Peoples

Terracing for Dundee Game???
I seem to remember that this was brought up at a recent boardroom banter and that the answer was no. I think the club would need to seek approval from police and a review of stadium certification.

Clyde
Clyde were a team who spent big to try and gain SPL membership. They failed and are still paying for it. Gretna and Livi are another two who are now paying the price. Kilmarnock spent big a few years ago and are also paying the price now. If they go down they will turn part-time. Dundee have spent a lot. Will Melville continue to subsidise or will they be back in the sh!t once again? Add to all that the problems at Aberdeen. They have no money to compete. Hearts and Hibs the same. Motherwell are just getting back into it but still cant compete on level terms. All these things are happening because two greedy teams are allowed to get into tens of millions in debt, without penalty, and the whole Scottish Football set up revolves around them and is geared up to support only them.

Active Nations Cup Final
Need to weigh up all the reasons for or against the two of them. For County.........I'm a highlander wanting success for the highland team Against County...I support ICT For Dundee U.....Can't for the life of me think of a reason Against DU........I live in Perth and Perth folk have the same hatred for Dundonians as Inverness have for Dingwall. On balance I think I must wish Ross County every success in the final.

If I were chairman of RC I'd be a lot more worried about the players I was going to lose than the management team. Their squad has performed well through out the season and reaching the SC final has a lot of clubs taking more interest.

Scottish Cup Final (merged)
This thread is beyond any rational, sensible understanding. One person opens by suggesting a get together to go to the Scottish Cup Final and then we get nine or ten pages of arguement and counterarguement on the rights and wrongs of attending, the good supporter bad supporter, and the Caley v Thistle bit tossed in for good measure. Christ sake people get a life. If any of our supporters want to go to the cup final and if they want to add to the atmosphere by choosing to select one preferred winner over the other then so be it. It doesn't make them any more or less of a supporter of their own team. I know a number of non-travelling fans of Edinburgh and Dundee teams who quite openly go to another ground in these cities to watch football. I know a few ICT fans who have gone to Dingwall when ICT have been away just as I know of a few County fans who come to Inverness for the same reasons. Many people love to watch live football but they don't like, for whatever reason, to travel to away grounds. If they choose to go and watch a local rival then that is their business and not anybody else's.

As a fellow Lochaber man, though I've been away from there for a good few years, I know I should understand the question but, maybe the Invergarry dialect is not as well understood by a Speanite. What the feck you mean? Why would TCS host a County game? And what game you referring to? I played for Lochaber shinty, the pride of Spean! Yeah, i didn't clarify that well. What im wanting to know is, if RC won the final, and had europa league qualifying fixtures, Vic Park isn't up to UEFA standards or is it? If it isn't would they play the fixture at Caledonian stadium? That would be interesting....is ICT's stadium readyok for that? Dont know what the Europa ruling is on stadium requirements. Dont think the Roy Bridge boys would like to hear you refer to Lochaber Shinty Club as the pride of Spean. I remember many years ago when Lochaber fielded a number of Roy boys. Those players would meet in the bar of the Roy hotel at eleven, ready stripped with boots over shoulder. Sink a few till closing time at half two. Pile into a tranny van and head for Spean ready to start the match. They've come on a lot since them days.

Cup or the League?
Your forgetting the other scenario...........County win the cup. There's no reason why they couldn't. They beat Hibs. They beat Celtic. Niether of whom they were expected to beat. They could beat DU.

Cup or the League?
For me the cup. As has been said there is a great prestige in winning a countries major trophy. With it comes a lot of memories and a big wad of cash. Then there's the big wad from the Europa cup qualifying round and the excitement of awaiting the draw to see who's coming to your ground. League is important as the bread and butter of football but there's not a player around who wouldn't want to be on the Hampden turf on cup final day.

Yet another song post
How about a one of for the last game. Last Waltz by Engelbert Humperdink We dont know should we dance or sing or wave We only have this one more game to play Then its of back to the SPL And you's can play Ross County again We'll play this last game gainst you Two teams with nothing to play for We're in the SPL Your staying down here forever When next you cross the bridge we'll pray for you We'll pray that you survive the Dungwall hue And as your heading back look t'wards our stands And the flag that once you thought was in your hands We'll play the last game gainst you Two teams with nothing to play for We're in the SPL Your staying down here forever

I didn't join in when our fans sang 'stand up in you hate County' at a Morton game so why would I join in with County fans.

Scottish Cup Final (merged)
I can't for the life of me see what would be wrong with fans of any other team going to a cup final, two weeks after their own teams have stopped playing, to watch football and to cheer on one or other of the two teams competing. When I'm not at matches involving my own team I often go and watch other games. I go to McDairmid now and again. I've gone to Falkirk. Montrose. Even Dundee. I also watch football on tv regardless of who it is playing. I enjoy football. I enjoy the buzz of being at a match. None of that makes me any less of an ICT supporter. I may well go to the final and I may well chose a team to cheer on. That doesn't make me any less of an ICT supporter. I'm a supporter of ICT and a fan of football.

The SunSport Golden Boot
The race to 25 is really hotting up now. Boyd 24, Rooney 24, McAllister 23. Here's hoping Boyd and Rangers can't score at Tannadice on wed. Brechin are away to Stirling that night as well so if Rory's fit he could also have a chance. My money's on Rooney getting it against Dunfermline though.

So which result is bigger?
Anything that puts Highland football on the map is a fantastic result regardless of who achieves it.

QOS -V- ICT : Post-Match Thread
It isn't "definitely our league" yet as, mathematically, several others can still win it. I agree that we are clearly the best placed and favourites for the championship, but lets not get carried away, in case we get left egg on our face. That said, it was another huge step closer today. The management and players need to keep the focus and not look any further thatn the next game - which is another difficult one against the Pars. I'm getting very tense as we get closer, hoping for the best, but still fearing the worst!! Mathematically only two other teams can win it.

If he was, and Scotty has time to do his bit, then the highlights will be on around five tomorrow afternoon.
