  1. If any midfielder sees a quick shot at goal as being the best option at that moment he should try. They all do it. Rankin, Cowie and Wilson have all been successful in that respect, as have Hart and McBain. I give any mid or defender top marks for trying, even if they miss, so long as it was the best option. Rankin is falling out of favour at Hibs because he's trying when there are better options available.
  2. Mr Duncan may just change his tune and play to his potential now he knows there's a whole team of SPL players looking for immediate employment and who will likely settle for a lot less than Russell wants.
  3. Bring top three from Div 1 into SPL. Next four playoff for two remaining SPL slots. 16 team SPL. Remaining five div 1 join with Div 2 + one promoted team from Div 3 to make 16 team Div 1. Remainders + 1 team from preferrably south Edinburgh area make 10 team Div 2.
  4. Gretna will not fold before the end of the season. Sequestration takes longer than that. They will go into administration. The administrators will keep the club running, probably by offloading players, loan from SPL, strength of parachute payment for going down. They have ten games left to end of season and one is at home to Celtic so that should give a boost. It is not in the interest of the SPL or SFL to let them fold before season ends as it would leave a big headache for promotion / relegation / playoffs etc.
  5. Duncan can tackle, shoot, pass, run at and get by opposition players. This last few months he hasn't.
  6. Chris Innes could give us a season or two.
  7. This report is rubbish according to SPL. READ HERE
  8. If Gretna were to fold there would be a space for one team to join SPL. I was told today that Gretna may be allowed to get out of difficulty by selling players outside the window and by fielding, predominately, youths for the remainder of their games in order to avoid all the league problems. They would also have to agree to returning to Div 3 to avoid disruption of the existing promotion / relegation system. Getting rid of their high earners + transfer fees + parachute payment + what they are due from the SPL less any advance should keep them afloat. Incidently, we are being linked with Skelton but thats probably sh!te
  9. Is it not likely the case that more than one person in a household uses the same computer?
  10. Ian Broadfoot I think
  11. Alex MacLeod replied to Tug's topic in Caley Thistle
Tug the new away top is the same price as the home one...........around ?40 with 10% discount for season ticket holder, supporters club member etc. The ?100 was for a limited edition with names on it. Russell Duncan has been offered more money than he was getting and a three year contract with testimonial at the end of it. I would have thought that was security for his family by footballer standards.
  12. Being Barry's testimonial night he may get to play. It would mean a great deal if he scored a hat trick. Like saying GIRUY Brew
  13. Sadly, our so called manager cant see that Saint. Might go to McDairmid in my ICT top next tuesday.
  14. If he thinks he'll do better elsewhere then good luck to him and if he aint signing then he shouldn't play again this season. Give the position to one of the promising youngsters who will play for the jersey.
  15. Under new H&S fire regulations 3000 in a wooden stand is not deemed safe. Our lighting is up to standard as far as lux rating is concerned.
  16. What? Wifebeater?
  17. Seems to be new names appear on the teamsheet every time the reserves play. Who is Morrison and Scott-Woodhouse?
  18. Safe environment is the problem.................it was ok for div 2 and 3 with crowds of a few hundred but is not designed for crowds of 3000 and is not deemed safe. And their floodlighting is not up to the required standard either. You can defend Gretna all you like CD and that is your perogative but the fact is the rules and regulations are in place and must be adhered to, whether people like them or not, and Gretna have made absolutely no attempt to abide by any of those rules and regulations even though they were given time to do so. Gretna was a project for one man. The achievement was realised, and like some computer game, it will now be discarded.
  19. That was cos he was feart to face us again
  20. To be fair I believe that had we continued to play at Aberdeen there may have been similar problems. I also think that this seasons weather is a lot to blame. Since the seasons start we haven't had much in the way of warm dry weather. Growth in the grass stopped earlier than normal and hasn't really started again yet. Most other pitches are suffering the same effects, including Ibrox and our own.
  21. Gretna were allowed to go up to Div 1 with the promise that they would bring Raydale up to Health and Safety standards. They do not have proper toilet facilities to cope with full house of 3000. Haven't been there but I believe their terracing is wooden which is also against H&S fire regulations. They have done nothing in the two years since making all the promises other than sit back and expect the local authority to come up with cash for a so called eco stadium. CD it can be used providing the terracing is closed of I believe.
  22. Brew never signed the Finn, nor the Romanian.
  23. Wonder if Baz will get to stay longer than the 28 days. He has a crack at the Scottish Cup game against the midden, cos he's not cup tied, so if they win will he be allowed to stay for a chance of a medal.
  24. Darren Dods is also doing extremely well
  25. Oh ye of little faith
