Team for county
Put Shinnie in for Watkins and you have a winning team there. Provided they're allowed to use all the pitch

Sorry friend but do you read before you spout. Why Christie bottom? Got us to 7th in the table, with a points total above 4th, then 8th in his second. That's got to be better than Baltacha and Brewster 2 at least. My thoughts as well. Does the poster remember the season and a half of good football and good results that Charlie had or does he only remember the four defeats start of following season. AlexJones puts Christie at the bottom. starchief asks why. I reiterate his question with "My thoughts as well". In other words my thought was why Charlie at bottom. I then, if you read the next part, actually praise Charlie's tenure by questioning AlexJones. Are you the only one that can't see that. As for vitriolic posting can you please direct me to one of those? Finally, Finally may I direct you to my first post on this subject. Especially the highlighted text. If that is some vitriolic statement against Charlie then I pity your understanding of the language I type.

Post-Split Fixtures
It was going to happen that we get 3 aways against someone. Just happens to be Celtic. Would be better to take consolation from us having three home games this split. Two of which are Aberdeen and Dundee U. Both teams that will take a few extra fans. We should also remember that last season we had 20 home games.

On statistics Brewster 2nd time should be above Hughes. Stats Win% Brewster 34.38. Hughes 30.43. For me the question is a really difficult one to answer. Robbo has the glory of taking us to SPL with Pele's team but at the start of that first season, and before he left, we had won 4 drawn 2 and lost 8. Nobody knows how Pele would have faired in SPL other than his disaster at Aberdeen. Looking only at SPL level I'd have Charlie Christie up at the top. I think if Charlie didn't have to find a way of fitting Niculae (who was forced on him) into his starting 11 at the start of 07/08 season, and the pressure that put on his shoulders, he'd have been around a lot longer and built a very good squad in the process. Butcher has to get credit for puting together the current squad and for the style and success of the start of this season but there was cries for his head in his first SPL seasons with us. Yes we won Div 1 at first attempt but only by keeping a squad of SPL players together and at a cost to the club.

Should Hughes be SACKED?
A few dozen young fans demanding the manager's head will have no impact on the board....and nor should it. Aye maybe it needs a couple of old codgers with a signboard on the Kessock bridge and a lot of shoe waving.

Should Hughes be SACKED?
Personally, I don't believe that the appointment process with a charade nor do I believe that our commercially shrewd board would have gone for the short term cheapest option. He clearly wasn't appointed on the basis of his record with previous clubs as it is an objective fact rather than a matter of opinion that it's mediocre to say the very least. I can only assume that he must have been truly inspirational in his interviews but I can't square that with the John Hughes I have seen and heard. I don't actually understand why fans who were previously doubters were enthused by his initial press conference which was about as predictable and cliche ridden as they come. Has anyone been? Pele was doing very well with Huntly but Robbo and Brewster were first timers with no managerial experience. Butcher's record wasn't all that great before we signed him. I wonder......is where we are right now the real reason for Grassa leaving? Some may not have liked the guy but he had a big say in managerial appointments and we brought in some good ones. Brewster second time being the exception.

Griffiths makes news again.........
The Compliance Officer has issued the following Notice of Complaint: Alleged Party in Breach: Leigh Griffiths (Celtic FC) Date: 30th March 2014 Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached: Disciplinary Rule 86: Not acting in the best interests of Association Football by singing in public about Heart of Midlothian FC in administration. Principal hearing date: Thursday, 24th April 2014 Rule 86: A recognised football body, club, official, Team Official, other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall, at all times, act in the best interests of Association Football . Furthermore such person or body shall not act in any manner which is improper or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour. I'm thinking some upstart official is just looking at the first part of rule 86. At the end of the day Griffiths should not be letting himself get into situations where controversy prevails.

Team for Midweek v Motherwell.
Think I'd rather take a chance on Curtis Allan than Watkins up front

Team for Midweek v Motherwell.
He's saying there's no Foran, Doran, Meekings or Tansy so if you get a start make sure its a good one. Consolation is no McFadden or Carswell for the steelers

Wouldn't bank on Foran being available

Should Hughes be SACKED?
IMO even if we do better between now and the end of the season, the downturn since Hughes arrived should not be swept under the carpet, unless you believe saying 'at least we were not THAT bad' is considered good enough? Besides, all comparisons with last season are only fair if you think we did as well as we could've possibly done and that Terry Butcher was still the right man for the job post Barnsley cock-up. Do you think last years run-in is the level we should be aiming for or do you think we are capable of more? I think we have surpassed last seasons success. We are still top six and we reached a cup final. That has to be seen as a better season than last considering there are only three or four teams in this league that could be construed as being on a level with us. The others are way superior in their financial ability to attract a better squad of players.

Hughes The Daddy?
Agree with above. We have played two games a week since our Scottish Cup QF and tiredness has to be a factor. There's also not enough time between games for proper coaching. Everything is more about game preparation. Have those guys even had a day of in that time?

Referee for Motherwell
Craig Thompson. 31 games this season 110 yellows and 4 reds. I think one of the better refs. He's officiated at three of our games this season and given us 5 yellows in total.

Should Hughes be SACKED?
Another comparisson. Looking at our last 10 games this season we've Won 3 Drawn 3 and lost 4. For the ten games at the same time last season we'd won 3 drawn 4 and lost 3. These are league games only. Not really much difference. Lets just see how the run in over the final 7 games compares. Last season was 2 wins 1 draw and 4 losses.
