I wish someone would tell me what the criteria is when measuring the size of a club. Is it fanbase? DU average home gate last season 8198. City population 143,000 ICT 5133 City population around 45000 So as a percentage of populations we are the bigger club with a fanbase of 11.4% compared to DU's 5.5% Is it profit? We made money last season. League position? We finished above DU every season since becoming members of the SPL. The whole argument about who's the biggest club is irrelevant. Its ongoing success that matters. Not what happened in the past. Part of DU's problems are the result of trying to live of their past glories. They need to get their heads out of the sand and make their future. Not dwell on what was.
  2. Great result :clapping04: Whens the draw for next round
  3. Official stats from Celtic game: Fouls - ICT 5 Celtic 5 Yellow ICT 4 Celtic 0 What does that say about the ref.
  4. Theres also an ad with Barry on the golf course.

Dods is 31 and looking for long term security. If given a longer contract he would relocate, especially if a coaching job was included at the end of it.

According to Grampian news the final offer was 45k. Still an insult as far as I'm concerned.
  7. Is that it??????? And there was me thinking someone had found out I was going on sunday :003:

Sandy, I think the promotion aspect will be the same as between present Div 1 and SPL. i.e. win the league and apply for membership which requires approval from existing members. Dont know about Ham Accies but Clyde, Partick, Dundee and, I think, Airdrie should all be able to meet the criteria which I believe is 6k seats and USH

Can I start the ball rolling with a snog of Roseanne :014:
  10. I dont think crowds are falling. Average 4500 at home so far this season which is on a par with other seasons if you discount the OF and Aberdire. Prices may seem a bit steep but if they were lower would we get more people attending. I honestly dont think so.
  11. I think CC chooses the players to suit the occassion. For example, against an attack minded team, like Hibs, we have a more defensive minded midfield. Whereas on sunday I think the Tic will be defence minded so we go out with the Ritchie Harts and give them a hiding. I've a good feeling about this one and really believe we can overturn the mighty Tic. :004:

Dods (with one d) wants away to start a family and settle in Edinburgh!!!!!! Dods will not renew his contract because ICT will not meet his demand for a 4year deal and the promise of a coaching role at the end of it!!!!!!! Both those statements have a connection. With the long term deal and the promise of some stability he would likely have given up his Edinburgh home and settled in Inverness. However, the board were not prepared to meet that request for whatever reason. The guy is getting on a bit and looking to secure the sort of stability required to start a family and nobody has any right to slander him for that. His request for a transfer was turned down because he is vital to our cause at the moment. Darren has accepted the decision and has committed to giving us 100% effort as long as he's with us. Who knows, if Darren and ICT meet or exceed their expectations and goals this season then the board may reward his efforts with the contract he desires. Meanwhile lets stop giving opposition fans ammunition to hurl abuse and give Darren the support he deserves.
  14. Ronaldo, theres no point in Broonie releasing the ball if our players aren't quick enough at getting up the park.
  15. Wasn't all ticket last season.
  16. kingkojak, if you re-read my question you will notice it is in the present tense. "Also who are Watson and Wood. Do they show promise". Do they show promise, not did they show promise. The question is directed at anyone in the know, who may even know the players in question, and who is able to answer it sensibly. It was not intended to meet with a sarcastic response. I dont recall either of the two being mentioned before as squad players so was curious as to their standing.l
  17. Yesterdays P & J reckons Elgin would like to borrow Foxy cos one of their middfielders suffered a leg break last weekend. Apparantly the Fox had been waiting on Livi to get rid of someone so they could afford to take him on loan. Bad show if Livi cant pay him but Elgin can. Personally I think a few months of first team football at Borough Briggs would be better for him. And I hope he comes back to us a better player and one who can keep a regular place in future. I think he has the talent but his footballing brain is a bit slower to develop.
  18. Fraser Fox, Proctor, McCaffrey, Golabek Hart, Duncan, Keogh, Morgan Bayne, McAllister Subs – MacKenzie (GK), Sutherland for Golabek (45 mins), Soane for Keogh (75 mins), Watson, Wood for Bayne (64 mins). Above is the lineup for the recerve game against Aberdire taken from official site. Assuming the lineup was as written then its a rather strange back four. Every one out of normal position. Was that how they actually started and if so was it working, even though they did get beat. Also who are Watson and Wood. Do they show promise.

DU offer £30k. ICT valuation £40k. Where's the match? Dods has retained nothing. Golabek is the club captain, Dods was a stand in.
  20. I'd like to see Ritchie Hart feature in someones list, either starting or on bench. I believe that against a pretty cr*p Hibs defense Ritchie can do a lot to make the attacking play.
  21. If I were CC I'd have made Barry captain for this season and next. As to Dods and the coaching thing. If he wants to coach should he not have been doing his licence as well.

Spot on CD The only thing that makes most teams bigger than us is the size of their debt and the number of seats in their stadium. Other than that they all have the same aim.....to be successful at the highest possible level. Even the East Stirlings of the world have aspirations, though they may not have the same expectations. ICT is able to give direct employment to near a hundred people, with a lot more than that indirectly involved. Surely that makes us quite a big club by Scottish standards.
  23. A large number of agents have other people on their books as well as footballers. They may be the negotiators for other sports people or other entertainers. Some are lawyers, some run other business's. So no, they dont starve.

Let him go, let him go! His hearts not in this club! I disagree on both counts. First, where do we find a replacement in a hurry that will guarantee to give what Dods has. Second, he is a professional footballer who knows he has to always play to his best, regardless of whats going on around him, if he is to attract the type of interest he seeks. Darrens main problems are not that he doesn't want to play for ICT, its more his personal life that seems to be dictating what he must do. I am confident that the machine will still honour his position and give his all whilst he is still playing for this club. Finally, the club are always expected to honour their part of any contract and so should the players. If we agree to one transfer request does that then open the floodgates to others who may think they can just walk out whenever they wish. I'm also sure that if the right value is offered for any player they will be sold on. So if the money is right Dods will go.
  25. I would say, and I hope Graham Bayne reads this, if you get the starting position over the other candidates then make it stick. If the lad is good enough he'll be a regular, if he's not then so be it. I certainly wouldn't be critisising him before he's had a chance to show whether or not he has what it takes this season.
