Taylor or Van Gerwen
From the Oxpord English Definition of sport noun 1. an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. From that definition I'd say that all activities listed above are sports.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
He's right in the sense that his team did make a £30k profit. He fails to tell us that their turnover dropped from £11m to £7.5m and that they sold players for £1.3m. Nor did he tell us that they owe their owner £3.2m of their total net debt of £4.5m. yes they are debt free as far as the accounts go but wont be if the owner decides to claw back his loan notes. http://www.insidermedia.com/insider/yorkshire/82535-player-sales-help-barnsley-fc-score-small-profit

Butcher, Malpas and Marsella are a team and I dont think they'll be split up. I dont believe any one of them will be successful without the others.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
I dont need to go to Wiki. I can find all I need to know on this site. Of the 17 SPL games in 08/09 5 were draws. For the first three months of the following season we drew 4. So in the 35 games of the first six months of Terry's reign we drew 9 and lost 10. And County didnt beat us in that period. Methinks you set your sights for sucess so high that the vision is blurred.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
That's simply not true. Sydney had won both the A League Championship the season before under a possession-based attacking style enforced by their then manager Pierre Littbarski. Butcher came in, in his first press conference declared that Sydney would be the "grinders of Australian football" and well...punted Sydney's passing style in favour of the more traditional English hit and hope, a style Australian football had been attempting to rid itself off for a number of years. Butcher represented the exact opposite of what had been wrong with Australian football for the previous few decades. He also didn't exactly endear himself to the fans or the media at all. Saying he wasn't given enough time, without looking the facts of his time there, is incorrect. And how long did he get? A few months with another manager's players is not enough time. He was doing badly with ICT 6 months into his reign. If we had punted him then, we would have never had what we've got now. It doesn't matter what style a manager chooses. That's up to the directors to figure out before they hire him. I beg to differ big time with that statement. Butcher walked into a team who were doing badly. At the start of his reign at ICT he finished our relegation season with six losses from 17 games. The damage was done by the 18 losses out of 28 games prior to him joining. The first three months of the following season seen us play 18 games (including cup) and lose 4. To me he had a very good start to his first six months. Sadly most folk only remember that he was in charge when we were relegated.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Someone who can get success out of a meagre budget and find players who dont ask the earth. Barnsley, like a few others, are having financial difficulties due to trying to buy success. O'Driscoll has seen through that and so should Terry.

Poll - will he stay or will he go?
Moderators privilege allows me to ask a question. The poll question:- Will he stay or will he go? Isn't that two questions? The answer choice 'yes' or 'no'. Is that yes he'll stay or no he'll go?

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Terry was down in Weegie land the other day and bumped into Neil Doncaster. In the conversation, over a glass of wine at the Counting House, Terry mentioned that he had aquired a bit of land near Drumnadrochit but wasn't sure what to do with it. Neil say's 'why dont you put up a barn, slay some deer and hang them in it. A Daily Ranger reporter was sitting at the next table and the rest is on the news.

There is no way that TB is motivated by cash. The man owns property all over the country. I believe he still owns a hotel in Bridge of Allan as well. If money was a factor then he'd never have come to us. Personally I'll wait and see what happens before speculating on who's going to take over.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
I admire your faith and I hope you are right. But I think enough hours have lapsed for Terry to have politely declined by now if it were such an easy decision. Barnsley need permission to speak to Butcher. If the right people are not in the office then that permission cannot be obtained. Hope they're all away on holiday to somewhere there's no mobile signal. Terry's on the phone to O'Driscoll to seek advice.

A New Year First
OCG you choose three of the ten draws we've had. Of the remainder we were leading and gave the equaliser away in the last few minutes on at least five occassions. Thats not being critical but stating how it was. had we been able to hold out in those five games we'd now be the sixteen points clear of bottom six that Clacher mentions in another thread.

When the club shop wasn't in a portacabin it wasn't a club shop. Yes goods could be purchased from reception but there wasn't a shop. Some of us even remember Citylink.
