  1. Never been to a movie theatre??
  2. Aren't the cinemas open again? Isn't that an indoor performance?
  3. And that was just Kane Hester!
  4. The positive is we are back into training & playing, keeping the squad healthy and injury free while we aim to reach a level where we can begin to see how our team will shape up. Everyone will get game time, often out of position just to get the squad rotating successfully. Without being there it's hard to get any idea of performance aside from second hand reports...which will be very strange once competition starts. Will there be a commentary set up?
  5. Just a kickabout in the park, as JR pointed out, don't read too much into this pre season fare...a lot more of the same required to get the bodies back into the rigours of increasingly repetitive activity.
  6. That's a bit harsh on O'Connor , considering the well publicised demons he has had to deal with since he shot to fame. Fighting addiction and dealing with suicidal thoughts isn't quite what comes to mind when you call someone " least disciplined " . At least he is involved with trying to help others now, something I'm not sure Stokes would bother with if and when the wheels come off his gravy train.
  7. Despite all the above he still gets the odd gig, I suspect he has a top agent...wasn't the same one Susan had was it??
  8. I sat beside Steve Ferguson before he signed and he had nothing but good words for him...obviously not a favourite of the forehead shaving freak Kettlewell.
  9. Good signing for Ayr, managing to prise one of the integral parts of 'the Ross County way' back down south.
  10. Well that certainly bucks the trend, getting clothing and school kit for my kids was a challenge as the 'average' 11 year old had a waist size that my 15 year old only now struggles to get into. It was always a massive operation to find the right leg length with normal waist sizes. ...and they say there's no obesity crisis in this country, ha! We're just a step or two behind our American cousins.
  11. Stokes had several chances to make it as a good professional, but his attitude and application has let him down so many times - it's no surprise that he is one of the journeymen of the game with so many clubs in his career already. He has/had the talent , but is always a big risk as to what you will actually get out of him.
  12. No hate on here, farcebook might be different, but as I don't use I can't comment...
  13. What was the big deal about pre ordering if you can just go pick one up from the stadium now?
  14. So Toshney is fourth choice??
  15. Pretty underwhelming signing tbh. He'll probably do okay but we will no doubt be seeing a few clangers over the course of the season. Thought we may have tried a loan deal for an experienced cb or even rb. Still think this is a good option for a midfielder or forward who can do themselves and us a turn for a year. Here's hoping JR can still pull us a few winners from the lucky dip of the free transfer market.
  16. She will be a lot more worried by losing the potential votes of a lot of 16-18 year olds after her sqa shambles...
  17. Fortunately, this time there are no fans travel plans to upset.
  18. Model professional's.
  19. ...and Aberdeen confirm a player has tested positive during the cluster through there. Match day 2 might have a postponement already.
  20. I hope john robertson doesn't use that as an aid in team selection. At least if Deas works out, we have a few years in which to sell him on , rather than lose him for nothing.
  21. I'm,not sure,how much,reasoned,or not, debate ,you will,get on, this pretty divisive,matter.
  22. F*ckin this, f*ckin that & f*ckin anything else. Vocabulary slipping a bit?
  23. While I agree with the sentiment of the message I feel that a lot of @rseholes got involved when it became an excuse for free for all days out in the middle of covid-19 lockdown...not a good look on anyone, and a massive risk to public health.
  24. But you said that when there was two large leagues the national team were constantly successful and more competitive... was this based on home nations or tournament qualifying?? We certainly did better in major tournaments for a prolonged period after the premier was introduced ( with 14 team 1st & 2nd divs ), and we did well in youth tournaments also, I'm just trying to see what point you're trying to illustrate here. Perhaps the big lower/semi pro leagues were a better environment for introducing young players as the pressure was less and the standard was lower. Interestingly they only played each other twice a season which on the surfaces at the time meant less fatigue related injuries. Only recently has the standard of youth football slid, previously we were always top rated - it was the next level where we failed, due to the lack of further development in first team coaching perhaps. I'm not sure the quantity of the coaching is the issue , perhaps we need look at the quality - after all the game has moved on a bit.
  25. Its been mentioned by SG that our record of losing good players out of contract is incredible, regardless of whether we develop them or not we should be more savvy with contracts and player sales.
