On a positive note
Wouldn't have worded it quite so strongly (theres no point getting on his back) but I was very suprised, I have never been a fan of McCallister, and granted he only played five minutes, but he looked hungrier than the rest of our team put togethor. Remember that our whole squad is full of players that have failed before and have something to prove.

Man of the Match
Hmmm... As for Freeland, simple fact is he is an abysmal referee, but I don't feel that he had any impact on the result. The only real decision that might have changed the game was the penalty claim he denied Marius when we were three nil down. Had my radio in one ear, and they seemed to think it was one of those that on another day might have been given. Oh yeah, and Mikolounas' challenge on Dicky early in the first half that got him booked, looked to me like it was a malicious tackle by a player that had just lost the ball and perhaps merited a red card. However, this time the radio said that it was just a late tackle, and Brian Irvine knows best. Of course.

Man of the Match
Think I know who it was. Won't say on here, as thats poor show quite frankly, but out of interest, does this player's father usually get off at Dyce?

:017: Came on for the last 5 minutes, looked stronger, fitter, sharper and technically better than he ever has.

Rangers fans new song

Players For Next Season
A highly under rated player, and by far and away the most lethal striker Aberdeen have. However: 1. Other teams managers arn't as clueless at Calderwood, he will probably sign for a club of equal or greater stature than Aberdeen. 2. He is likely to return to England, as thats where he's from. 3. He is probably earning the same as Marius at Aberdeen

Who's happy?
Other teams also play a mix of senior players, and as for the rest of the opposition, that cancels out your own point, because basically, if there standard is that bad, why do we need to worry?

The Ian Black Appreciation Thread
The general consensous among Aberdeen fans when it looked like Nicholson would be leaving (mind the contract rebels) that Blackie would be the man to replace.

Who's happy?
Is that why we're currently sitting second in the reserve league?

Approaching game numero 100 for Jags. Considering his age, this is a terrific feat(Sp?) An excellent servant to the club, if he's goes, it was good while it lasted. If he stays, I don't think I've ever seen someone so perfect for the captains armband. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:

Who's happy?
Im very happy. In the long term, the club is going in the right direction, and as usual our board are making the right moves. But of course, how silly of me to forget, we've lost a few games (to some of the form teams in the country). Crisis indeed

Wish to god he'd hurry up.... :023: Do you know, it's funny. Manchester United fans thought the same thing about Fergie. :023:

Brewster is an excellent manager, I have seen that a number of times this season. Please also note that I was totally against him coming back to Caley, but I now feel that he could be the man to take us to that next level. Losing to Hibs and Motherwell is nothing to be ashamed of.

Martin Taylor - accident or scumbag ?
From where I was sitting (the sopha) the tackle didn't look to bad, just a bit late. However general consensous seems to be that it was an awful tackle.

3 points could be the difference between top and bottom half this season.

Marius check
I think people are mistaking Marius' lack of pace (which btw for an international striker is shocking) for lack of effort. chris, that comment you quote is a reflection of how the media used to refer to us and nothing to do with the pace, or lack of effort of Niculae Ah My apologies But I do think that alot of people are unfair on Marius, he is very slow, but I think he gives 110% effort.

I think Imrie and Cowie have both shown flashes of being technically good players, and I also think that Duncan is a very tactically astute player. However, there are really only 5 really good technical players at ICT, and they are Black, Sutherland, Wilson, Marius and Phil McGuire (seriously). Only one of them started on Wednesday, and he is a defender.

Seems like it'd be better for all if we just went back to being a 'wee team up north'. No ambition, know our rightful place within the hierarchy. Lets get back to looking forward to a back page cup headline once in a while. And lets know our lot involves taking the best players from over the bridge every season. Some folk on here were complaining (rightly so) when Charlie used to use the small team mentality line. The same people on here have exactly the same attitude. Personally, I don't Marius has lived up to expectations at all, but he's still miles better than any other options we've got. It's the non stop, deeply personal, and at times, disgusting abuse he's received from day one from certain posters that's really got on my tits. Maybe we should ask the club to approach these sane people next time we sign someone, and ask them have much they think it'd be acceptable to pay them. My hero

This thread disappoints me, I remember when we got behind the players, no matter what was going on in the background.
