  1. I second that. Zander looks a player aswell, wonderful first touch and terrific balance and composure.

Please tell me you posted that? In fairness, when you have Stuart Duff in your team you will believe anything in the vain hope that you can turf him and get someone else in. Apparently he was Aberdeen's star preformer yesterday. :015:
  4. To his credit, if you look at Brews previous signing history, you just need to put 2 and 2 togethor with Crawford.
  5. 34 minutes of my life ill never get back
  6. Agreed Excellent post, back to your best Alex.
  7. What you think of Brew as a manager is irrelevant. Wonderful player, wonderful professional. Deserves a proper send off.
  8. Colud it be that the club is now falling back into place?
  9. Rough with the smooth people.
  10. Malky told the official site: "Both guys came with a real enthusiasm and preformed well and I'm sure the manager will make a decision soon on the pair."
  11. I always thought he was on less than Miller was getting which was between ?3k - ?4k a week. Hmm Wyness and Deano would both probably need to go (both must be earning a tidy sum considering their previous clubs) but if he is earning so little, he might be worth the gamble. As for Nicholson, was he not rumoured to be on up to 7k a week during the whole contract rebels saga?
  12. Lovell is an excellent finisher, however, there is no way he is on less than Marius is. Remember, as long as he's been up here, Lovell is english, so will probably return south.
  13. What makes you think that? You mean like it didn't work against Celtic? But remember the formation that day was 4-2-3-1. Almost like having 4 forwards. It doesn't seem to work here does it. :017: I never said it worked here.
  14. You mean like it didn't work against Celtic? Long ball tactics can be used to great effect when used correctly.
  15. I like you. Post more
  16. If any other player had played like Marius has played this season, he would be up for our player of the year. I have noticed little things with Marius recently, his fitness is improving, he is getting on with the rest of the team, and he is beginning to work out Scottish football. Do I think he has been "worth it" is an entirely different question. I am yet to see a direct quote that says the players give a pump about Marius' wage bill, we have all been told that Marius has been the route of the problem, but I have never seen any substantial evidence to back this up, in the interviews I have read with players, they never have a bad word to say about Marius. IF he has been the route of all the behind the scenes problems, then no he has not been worth it. However, I don't think he has.
  17. Possibly because there are too many old jaggies ready to moan and rustle sweety wrappers at over use of the term Caledonia(n)? Good shout

  19. Never been sure why we havn't adopted this classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMH0HlrccMs Until then
  20. I had a friend who went to Aberdeen Uni in the 80s and had a girl in his class from Peterborough. Her mother had packed a whole case with toilet rolls, and was concerned that there might be no pavements... Your point caller? I think the caller's point is to illustrate (rather well) the kind of perception that people outwith the Highlands and the North have of "up here". I have certainly found it commonplace for Central Belters to have the delusion that people in, for instance, Aberdeen, Inverness and Thurso live in adjoining villages up in what they think of as "The North" (which sort of starts when they get to Castlecary Arches). I suspect there are also some who think we also hack the heather out of each other's ears with Claymores, occasionally foray into the South to steal cattle before returning home for the monthly Brigadoon reinactment. (Now could you imagine us up here harbouring equivalently silly ideas about people in the South dressing up in white shell suits and burberry baseball caps and swigging Buckfast whilst spray painting bus shelters on their way to collect their Giros? ) Anyway, what I was getting round to saying was that a lot of central belt players will initially have a completely inaccurate perception of what it's like up here. Those who are brave enough to give it a try will find it completely different from and a lot better than what they expected but at the same time we can't get away from the fact that it's still a long way away frrom families etc for many of them to stay longer than a contract or two. Ahhh, I see. Yes he did make a good point didn't he :003:

  22. Worth bearing in mind that a large proportion of the Aberdeen side of the eighties that Alex Ferguson created came from the central belt... What attractions were there in Aberdeen for them..? None... If you read Gordon Strachan's autobiography... I have difficulty in understanding why so many born and bred Invernesians seem to be **** bent on putting this area down at every opportunity... :024: In the 70's and 80's Aberdeen boomed like no City in Scotland ever has.

  25. You'd think wouldn't you? Like I say, after recent episodes at ICT a "fans favourite" returning might be hoped to garner some kind of good publicity for the club - from the point of view of ICT fans anyway. As I have said in this thread it reminds me of the "glorious" return of Keegan at Newcastle. I don't seen anything wrong with it. I seriously doubt he will walk back into the first team, merely a few camio appearances to give everyone at the club a well-deserved boost. The next team he went to after us was Grenada FC, possibly a bigger club then ourselves, in a league where the technical ability is far superior to our own, even if it is not as physically demanding. One thing guaranteed with Juanjo is that he will aways go short with his pass, something that only one other player in our team seems willing to do. He also arrives at a time when not a single player in our team can take a decent penalty, freekick or corner.
