  1. If we keep Horner its cos he decided to sign. If anyone bothers to read the article there are offers on the table for several players as JH has said for weeks, including Vincent. Personally I think JV is a luxury we cant afford given his lack of game time over the last few seasons. However if JV leaves (or any others) that have had offers its because they want more money or go elsewhere for reasons known to them - its not necessarily a case of we picked those who are staying over those who leave.
  2. Its cos of the new Brian Rice training regime.............sadly first rule of fight club......... More seriously though, we have seen only a few game time injuries occur where a player needs substituted such as Brill, Warren, Fisher, therefore I think some assume that any other injury has to be during training. However often these can be game knocks which can manifest after the match. There is no denying that this year we have had a lot more injuries though (excluding illness) whether this is down to the change in coaching staff (Rice for Latapay) only the club know. Its clear that over the last 12 months our style of play has changed a lot from open attacking football to negative and cautious whether this is due to the available players being fit or the new training and management regime its hard to decide - until we have enough quality players fit to start our games, its all just pure fan conjecture.
  3. So whats wrong with Raven, anyone know? He was in the stand y'day and looked to be moving freely enough. Seems like he has been missing a good while, yet nobody knows why or when he will be back and is a player we miss badly.
  4. Warming up on the touch line is possibly the closest we will see foran to playing again. He cant shake off injury and age isnt on his side, been out so long its hard to see him back at this level if at all. Sometimes wonder if he appears on the bench when times are bad to distract or motivate the fans, a demonstration by the club to justify the longer than usual contract he was given when injured ad aging, showing they are trying to get our captain back to save the day. For me that ship has sailed and warren is now the key leader.
  5. With raven and merkings still injured and tremarco and warren supended perhaps we need to attack for a change and not have our makeshift defence under constant pressure from sitting inand pass backs. Start positive abd try get early goals to finish the game but i dont see that happening sadly and we will most likely create our own downfall as so often this year. Least its at home for a change tho.
  6. From reading this and seeing our last few games we are toothless and lack creativity. Too many creative and attacking players have left and replaced with dull, steady additions. With most of the season gone its fair to say some havent worked out or delivered like vigurs, mutumbo, wedderburn, sho silva, lopez - some are gone but some remain. Couple that with injuries and lack of form from many established picks we are being stretched with a thread bare squad, limited quality and negative tactis. Last year was such a high, do we expect too much or are we massivly underachieving? For certain one big thing missing is entertainment.
  7. We are so negative with back and sideways passing, the ball is moved so slowly hibs always had time to regroup and defend only when we increased the pace after equalising did we see hibs start to crumble. Constantly players check runs to pass inside, we are so narrow in the middle of the park with only storey and Roberts going wide when they after re the men who should be central. Disappointed by how many times storey gets caught offside though, with his pace he should play the line better as he will still be favourite to the ball. Lucky to get a draw but we need to play better and show a bit more urgency and creativity
  8. Its exciting however you look at it, every team is inconsistent and evenly matched, predicting positions and results is almost impossible. Lets hope we can pick up a few wins and have a more comfortable position in the top 6. i'm assuming next year will be even better though, once the newco arrive, armageddon will be over so no more of this dull SPFL we are seeing and an exciting season will lie ahead....................
  9. Meekings without a doubt, Raven and Doran.
  10. Fon Williams - he will get other offers I'm sure, he came to us probably on a reduced salary to get game time to get into the Wales Euro squad, which he most likely will. Teams down in England will be after him because of this, so it may not end up being a decision that ICT need to make. Regarding performance, Williams has done well, but while his shot stopping is good, his distribution is poor on many occasions. Often he punts long upfield and either out of play or putting us back under pressure with a lack of accuracy, rarely is the short ball played to build from the back - Brill did this and based on the Yogi slow, possession and build up play this may be a deciding factor. Brill I feel commands the area better, but Williams may be marginally better as a shot stopper. If Yogi is waiting to see how Brill recovers before making a decision it may be too late as Williams might have better on the table and be off. If Brill can get back to fitness then he would be my choice, however we often see keepers take longer than outfield players to recover from serious injury probably due to the nature of higher impact, challenges and awkward landings. A gamble may have to be made.
  11. Poised isnt conclusive, so there is still a possibility that is wrong and just a story from weeks ago reprinted. If it comes down to it, id hope the club keep williams even if its at the expense of vincent as he is much more valuable to our cause.
  12. As they waited til the day of the final replay but not the result does that suggest some dodgy referee decisions are sanctioned if required for the dundee win?
  13. Im assuming regardless of tickets sold there will be no pay at the gate option and we will have to get tickets from ICT in advance. By the time there is a decision on times, tickets printed then put on sale there isnt much time. As a remote spporter i will have to get mine posted out as i cant justify travelling to inverness to collect, im sure there are plenty others in a similar position. How can this not affect crowd numbers then the SFA and other clubs have the cheek to criticise our low numbers when yet again they have been less than helpful. Fully expecting an early KO time on Sunday just to mess up travel for those who rely on public transport too.
  14. Fon Williams Raven? Warren Devine Tremarco Draper Tansey Roberts Polworth D.Williams Storey If Raven is still injured, can Tremarco play RB or even Devine as I think Horner at Parkhead will be a disaster. Then drop Danny to LB and bring in Vigurs. Either way its not ideal going there without a first choice RB and no cover with Meekings still out.
  15. I'm not keen on 2 leg affairs as we in Scottish football play too many games against the same teams in a season, consider playing a SPFL team 4 times in the league then another 4 in the cup - its a turn off for many. The idea of not having replays is positive - in many cases the home team especially drawn against a bigger team has that as their one chance to cause an upset, continuing that into ET an possibly pens would be great, often we see then game replayed at the bigger teams ground and the outcome is predictable, we will also no longer see teams sitting in for the last 20mins holding on for a draw and replay back at their ground - turn up, play on the day and finish the game. The idea that if we go to Celtic and can hold out for a draw, I'd rather take it to pens and see how it turns out that have to play another 90+ mins at that level or greater again. For me the semi locations are important and should be given more focus than they are, the default of Hampden is not necessary in all cases - for example using ICT as an example and our opponents Hibs/Hearts/Dundee/Dundee Utd/St J etc (Pittodrie), Rangers/Celtic/Motherwell etc - (Easter Road), Aberdeen (Easter Road/McDarimid Park) - almost equi-distant travel, mode chances of a full house and no longer a bias playing a SF in Glasgow against a local team - its not hard to arrange.
  16. To anyone who is a genuine football fan and there for watching the game and their team - none, stewarding is only an issue if you hope to get away with unacceptable behaviour IMO. I (like probably everyone on here) have been to football matches, gigs, festivals, nightclubs etc with over zealous security or stewards who let the little power they have go to their heads, however that would never encourage me to avoid or not attend an event if I'm a fan or its something I enjoy. We have seen arguments for poor attendance featuring - merger, stadium location, cold weather, cost, not liking yogi or any other management team, pies are crap, tea's too cold and many more............are people seriously suggesting stewarding and policing of games is another for the list? Those who boycott seems a crazy idea, are people suggesting that they would rather stay away to sympathise and support someone who has been convicted of chanting offensive and racial slur in favour of a preference for more laxed security? Whether an individual or a group this behaviour has no place in football or society and if a firm stance is not taken then it will just descend and I for one don't want it being like the Eastern Europe or Italy where large sections of fans are openly racist and its accepted and tolerated by clubs and national associations alike - the day it gets towards that is the day myself and many other fans will walk away.
  17. The article doesnt state why if there were a group of others partaking what the actions of this individual were to draw attention? He may have been animated in a fashion that accompanied the vocals - whether he did it or not and whether he was a single person chanting or part of a larger group thats not for me or others on here to judge. He went to court and his defence was deemed not robust enough to have charges dropped - those are the facts based on the media report. Hopefully this sends out a clear message to all ICT fans as this kind of chanting is not welcome, we should be a open club where all races, colours and religions can come along and enjoy football without comment or persecution - everyone knows this is wrong throughout not just football but society as a whole. Too much chanting based on culture or beliefs still exists in Scotland, its good to see a hardline stance taken - lets hope that other sherriffs see this and impose similar constraints on those who appear infront of them regardless of connection to ICT or other clubs - I'm fed up of some of the chants we hear at games (not usually from ICT fans I will add)
  18. Being cynical - If celtic and rangers progress although dundee will be tougher than kille id expect some warm balls. The form of the OF this season it's too big a risk for the SFA to chance them both making the final against any of the 4 other potential opponents, sohaving them play in the semi wouldn't be a surprise. An OF and Highland derby set of semis would be great.
  19. Cummings will be suspended but no reason stokes cant play against us
  20. 1 point of 4th, just behind county and dundee who are 2 teams this season who have recieved media praise for their good seasons thus far. We have been inconsistent, injury hit and in some ways much poorer than the last few years yet are still competing around the area of the table we expect. While not far from relegation what does this tell us about the spfl?
  21. Horner at the back could be a real weak link with raven missing it's a position aberdeen will probably try exploit. Pace of Danny Williams missing too isn't great but let's hope Roberts can perform
  22. Watching some of the livi V hibs game tonight, I'd be happy if they see off hearts, don't think they look that great other than stokes and Cummings which I think our defence can handle. Certainly look light in midfield and suspect at the back. No fears going down there if we have to.
  23. Maybe worth pointing out that tonight Nick had a good game, other games he's been anonymous and otehrs on the bench. He is a good player on his day as he showed with us but was inconsistent and this season that hasnt changed. Given our injuries and departures, if hs stayed would he be a regular starter - yes, if Doran and Roberts were fit, then he'd probably be interchanged with them being behind Draper, Tansey, Polworth & Williams in the pecking order.
  24. Tranmere average attendance over 5k, ours is less than 4k. Tranmere being in English football get benefit from parachute payments through the leagues higher than we probably get from our SPFL status. So its unlikely we could have matched what a high earner like Higdon would command.
  25. The wage structure is limited by income so unless that increases how can we change the budget and be sustainable? TV revenue is fixed so we need to increase other areas, while I'm sure cup runs bring in some extra cash the only real way to gain is though footfall and it's been discussed to death on here that we have circa 3000 fans and just have to get on with it. If over time we loose out on players of better ability we can't afford then sadly it's just part of life for our club so we need to accept it and support those we have or are willing to come to the club and location. Constantly blaming the manager or board is unfair regarding budgets as they can only do so much, but we can criticise bad signings or decisions.
