They let their club die......simple. Not a case of believing - factually based on the legal criteria the old club is dead therefore any history becomes just that.

We're at home, Sevco are terrible with their only improved performances using the majority of players who were in the Championship last year and that team was no great quality. We need to go at them, show no respect and put pressure on their dodgy center backs. OFW Mckay Meekings Warren Tremarco Tansey Polly Mulraney Draper King Fisher I think with the pace of Mulraney & KIng we can get in behind their full backs, especially Tavernier as he always pushes on and can be caught out, Fisher is a bit more physical and I think against a slow defence who will try bully our players then he may have more success than Doumbaye. Disappointed Barton wont play though so I could see Draper own him.

We don't play them til 14th as next wknd is the international break. Based on the announcement being last wk, that makes last wk, this wk, next wk being the three so technically our game would be the first he might be eligible for again not that it really matters other than I personally think he makes that team weaker.

They are the scurge of Scottish football, videos online smashing up Parkhead toilets, ripping up seats at Pittodrie, throwing seats, coins & cups of pi$$. Utter scum, would like to say its just a minority but its seems like reasonable numbers going by footage and its behaviour that both that club and its fans are proud off. They moved up through the lower leagues singing and spouting their bile and hatred with deplorable behaviour and these teams were lucky that they were in those leagues a short time - now they are back and we have to deal with them. Sadly the SFA and Police Scotland seem to turn a blind eye, the media brush over the behaviour and its ignored into being accepted as the norm. On here there were heated words when some very minor issues arose at Pittodrie with some fans where it was made clear by the majority that our clubs name does not want to be tarnished yet at a club with 40k+ season ticket holders there never seems to be a voice speaking out - the board say little and the fans groups spout the same old lines - its like a cancer and a disease that cannot be cured and even moves through generations. Not sure what the solution is until we (Scottish football) gets a governing body with a spine that will hit The Rangers (and any other significant offenders) where it hurts with real fines based on % of income - not a few thousand and a soft telling off but £100k's, closed door games and banning or expulsion from competitions. Publically when pressed all the bodies condem and say they fight to clean up Sottish football but until actions are there to back this up then nobody believes it.

Draper is playing a pivitol role as a leader in the middle of the park, he shows heart and desire to compete all fans strive for, opposition fans envy thet we have him. He should play any game he is fit and like above is it known he has above problem on artificial surfaces? Should we be more worried that the type of game Accies play he may get sent off if its too physical and its better to save him for Sevco and a chance for Barton (hopefully) to meet him.

OFW McKay Meekings Warren Tremarco Tansey Vigurs Doran Draper King Doumbaye Team almost picks itself after the last game, however I feel after the 2 sub appearances from Doran he deserves a start if fit enough, so its between dropping Polly or Vigurs. Up front Fisher came on and scored but in the first half I felt Doumbaye cause Celtic problems - tough call but I think either will be a good option. Being in the position where we have Mulraney, Doran, Boden and Fisher to try fit into a winning team when all can contribute something shows we are starting to build up strength and depth - this means Cole hasn't even had a sniff yet and Raven & Horner are on the sidelines!!!

Looking at the facts based on previous game time from the manager who signed him and now with a new regime yet with Dembele as the only fit striker due to injury to Griffiths, Ryan is still not getting game time. In the attacking/ creative midfield he is somewhere behind Sinclair, Roberts, Forrest, Armstrong and appears to be fighting it out with Commons and Mackay-Steven. Nobody is suggesting he cant play a part just the facts suggest that its not going to be easy for the lad and history suggests that the longer he is sitting on the sidelines the further his career will fall away.
-
Just one of several Celtic signings from the last few seasons, purely to weaken opposition, trip them of talent, limit potential future sales income and stop any team in Scotland getting them - Armstrong, Mackay-Steven, Ciftci, Allen, Christie - even under the previous management regime that signed them there was limited game time. Its hard to see where these players may it now under the new manager considering the positions he has signed. The likes of Christie and those who haven't left Celtic yet will most likely end up in English lower league obscurity like those before, although with the big step up in salary on offer you can see why these boys sign up - a few years at Celtic and they are well set for life.

Surely if the player is waiting for contact and the opposing player never got the ball its a foul, if he went down without contact its simulation. In either case how is that a good decision surely its a foul or a yellow for simulation - meaning the ref got either wrong?
-
If the player is running with the ball and it moves to the right then they will move right to keep it under control - the ball was still under Drapers control, I think if this was the other way round of 2 teams not involving any of the OF then this would not be questioned. If the 2 StJ incidents were by Pat Nevin deemed a foul then the Draper one also has to be, its exactly the same. Pat Nevin like Willie Miller and some others at the BBC are cretins who have been out of the game too long and hark back to what was acceptable in the past. The BBC need guys like Thommo & Stewart as pundits who are relevant to the modern game, not OF biased and will speak their mind on incidents. It was too big a decision for a ref without a spine - outside = free kick & red card, inside = yellow & penalty - he wasn't brave enough to put Celtic down to 10 or issue a penalty against them. It should make us realise how 'lucky' we were in the semi final a few years back. Oh and if it was a dive then Draper should have got a yellow!!!

OFW McKay Meekings Warren Tremarco Tansey Vigurs Doran Draper King Doumbaye If Doran's not fit for starting 90 mins yet then I'd go Polly, just think Doran showed some good creativity against the Dons and is more capable of that bit of magin you need for a Celtic result than Polly. Up front, its any of our 3 but in both previous games I thought Doumbaye played well when he came on and caused problems for the opposition defence and was more effective at running with or holding up the ball than Fisher - might be worth risking him to start as he could be a bit of a surprise to Celtic.
-
That's fine, nobody is questioning the creation of atmosphere or the noise, but arguing or fighting with stewards whether you like their attitude and trying to cause damage outside the grounds or antagonise opposition fans into fights isn't particularly good for your individual reputation (unless that's the rep you are aiming for but given the stature of most of the guys I'd rethink that), the rest of the fans or fundamentally the club. Cheering, being vocal and supporting is encouraged by all though - nobody has been negative towards that so calm down with the aggressive attitude - we all have the interests and success of the club as our priorities.

^ I think Vigurs has an important role in this game, during the Aberdeen match (and several more before it) I have been calling for Vigurs to be substituted or dropped as he often stifles play, kills the pace of any attack and slows the game down far too much - especially when we try to break or counter attack. However for a game against Celtic I see his role and style as being key, if he can stop the play in the middle of the park and break down Celtic attacks while slowing down our play to maintain possession (although his passing and distribution has to be better than against Aberdeen) it could play a big part in us getting anything from the game. His set piece play along with Tansey may be our best chance of goals but between Vigurs, Tansey & Draper we have the capability to overpower Celtic in midfield but they all need to play well.
-
The result was unsurprising in some ways as Celtic although a better team than last few seasons with more potent attacking threat, the back line has been a weak link since Van Dijk left. Hopefully we can play with a solid back 4 and central midfield and use our wingers pace to try get balls in the box and exploit the weaknesses. I think its worth having a go at them, we may score and get picked off into a thumping but better than sitting in and still loosing 1 or 2 nil. No guts no glory.

What, trying to damage property and shouting unnecessary abuse at members of the public and rival fans to goad them into fighting............perhaps not, or are you going to deny that this went on outside the ground? If that's your idea of creating an atmosphere then you are going about it all wrong!!
-
Abuse, its not personal, its called banter - other than the 'young team' nobody else in the crowd took it personally. As for the stewards its their job, you need to respect and accept their decisions whether you like it or not, its called authority and respect - time to grow up!!! Regardless of that how is that justifiable outside the stadium, damaging property, shouting abuse and generally acting like fanjitas - as said this is now 2 games in a row (and its the same faces)? Continue like this and sooner rather than later you will behave in a way that results in 1 of 2 outcomes - arrested and banned from attending games or given a good kicking by some opposition fans that wont laugh off this behaviour. If they are deemed old enough and responsible enough to be out without an adult then they are able to take responsibility for their own actions. Looks like some of the young fans have been on here, lets hope you take on board what's been said and modify your behaviour moving forward so as not to damage our clubs good reputation. And if 'sweetie rustlers' or anyone else requests modification in behaviour then I suggest acting with respect for elders and authority
-
Ictsince94 - we know rangers fans are scum, new club same knuckle dragging support but let's not say any unsavoury behaviour from our fans is ok cos it's not as bad as others. Irrespective of any issues in the ground with stewards they need to get over it and not instigate petty actions of retribution. Not denying as we are a small band of away support it makes it easy for stewards at any ground to single out and seem they take more action than against much larger groups of visiting fans but we are all there to pay and enjoy the game for 90 mins so just accept their instructions and get on with it, not worth getting anyone ejected because they disagree with the authorities in place or creating a scene which affects our reputation.

Overall a good performance, I thought Aberdeen created a bit more in the final third and had a few really good chances but our defence held strong and are starting to look a lot more composed unit, MacKay at RB is an improvement on Horner and the faltering Raven, he could make that his permanent position going forwards. Another great Draper performance today and a fantastic finish from Vigurs, although I do still feel he is slow at build up play and often stops the game too dead and brings pace out of our attacks at times. Good to see Doran come on and he certainly showed some good touches. Definately signs of improvement although Celtic may be a much stronger test that the Dons, where the strength and ariel ability of Doumbaye may edge it over Fisher but today both played well. Sad to see the antics of the younger fans or 'singing section' today, abuse shouted about Shinnie and cheering his injury, arguing with stewards then on leaving the stadium throwing metal secuirty barriers and signs about, then shouting abuse at Aberdeen fans (including those with children) on the walk back into town. When I approached one of them regarding throwing barriers around suggesting its not a good image for our club I was told 'we dont care'. Well I do, this club has worked hard and I believe have a good relationship with all rival fans therefore dont want this to start being affected by the minority or having fans put off attending away games. While some may say its only barriers and signs or just fun, I see it as a lack of respect of others property and surroundings, so after issues with behaviour at the St J game and now this, its maybe time to reign the behaviour back in as its not welcome.

Sadly on here some are too juvenile for that, the reality that most posts just ordinary and carry the opinion of an individual is the normal although some are more exceptional and carry good structure and an opinion shared by many therefore get acknowledged (green) and some likewise are just inflammatory, degrading or out to provoke a reaction which lead to red dots. I'd like to think most on here consider when its appropriate to provide positive or negative feedback - however some cant and just see it as a point scoring exercise. Its not the system that's the problem, its how people use it or what their motivation is, therefore because of this perhaps the best resolution is to remove the system altogether? If the system isn't being used to acknowledge either end of the spectrum then it has not been grasped (in my opinion).

Yes I was at the game and I'll be at this one too, You might think Horner had one of his best games for us, but that doesn't make him a better option defensively against the attacking players from Aberdeen - StJ created little down the wing whereas Aberdeen will be much more potent, positioning is an area weak in Horners game and he is often caught out while going forward has a lesser attacking threat that Raven - or do you disagree. Fisher never scored or looked like it and that's the job of a striker, where as Doumbouya carried a much more potent attacking threat. I'm glad you want to pick players on the sentiment that you liked what they did last game, however I want my club to put out a team that will win a game with every player being best for that job.
-
We have a game on Sat away to Aberdeen but as usual very little match thread build up anymore, apparently debating red/green dots is more interesting at the moment. OFW Raven Meekings Warren Tremarco Draper Tansey Mulraney Polly King Doumbouya Although Raven has been off form this season, Horner didn't look any more impressive last game - we need solid full backs to combat Hayes/McGinn/Logan threat. Upfront nobody has really hit form for us yet, but I thought Doumbouya looked impressive on his first outing so may be worth a start.

Advice on where to sit at first Caley Thistle game?
bdu98196 replied to Chloe Holland's topic in Caley Thistle
I agree with the above, personally I like the position of being at a slightly higher vantage point and being offset not too far from the centre line, give a great view of the game. Nothing wrong with the North stand and perhaps it does carry a little more atmosphere however from a personal preference I find the perspective especially when goal mouth action at the far end isn't as easy to distinguish as its all about depth perception and the seating isn't as high as the main stand for that view. For the extra few £££'s if you can try get a main stand seat in a higher row would be my advice especially for a first game. -
Just stick with the status quo, but its almost an irrelevance - does it matter whether a comment is liked or not? This is a football forum, its not some kind of online contest and there are no prizes for getting the most 'greens' and certainly if individuals feel 'reds' are a personal attack or affecting their lives then perhaps a grown up adult platform such as this or even the interweb isn't the best place to be using. Leave as is, remove altogether, but I'd refrain from anything that involves investing time to resolve or put in place, I would suggest there is a high percentage on here like myself who just don't care - if its there we may use it, if not so be it. Changing things will not do anything other than give those already unhappy a new angle to be unhappy about.

While we have made a couple of good signings - King, McNaughton (although unfortunately now injured) the best business was the re-signing last season of many key players. When Yogi brought in a lot of unknown players last year he got lambasted for being unheard of and unproven unfortunately not many seemed to perform well - yet this season we are in a similar position regarding Boden, Cole, Mulraney and everyone seems positive and raving about the 'good window'? So far we have seen Mulraney & Boden perform pre-season, just like Roberts last year in some ways yet done little else while Fisher looks promising - so for me the jury is still out. Having Doran is like a new player hopefully, but the lack of proven or experienced striker is a concern, last year the gamble on Storey worked but we have missed out on players going to our rivals that would have been assets.

Surprised to see Nicky Clark (not the hairdresser) go to Dunfermline, I'm sure he knocked us back for loan before and although was never prolific at The Rangers, I thought he might have been worth a deal
