Good for you Mike. Enjoy. I' m currently on hols overseas, otherwise I would have joined you for this one.
  2. Dumbarton -V- Inverness CT

Well, how great was that? Dumbarton must be sick of the sight of us after these last few weeks. But how ironic it would be if they could do us a massive favour by beating Dunfrmline in their final game. Assuming we beat the Pars on Sat, that would allow us a slip up in one of our last two games. but better of course for us just to win all three of our last games The dream lives on
  3. Inverness CT -V- Dumbarton

His new club, ACS Sepsi, don't seem to agree. He hardly gets a game, even as sub. unless he has a long term injury, of course.
  4. Inverness CT -V- Dumbarton

The dream lives on. I'm actually out of the country for the next two weeks, but you can be sure I'll be following our progress online. Vital that we win the next two and then we have a fighting chance. Who would have thought a few weeks ago, that we'd even be daring to dream like this? Best of luck lads.
  5. Inverness CT -V- Dumbarton

Excellent. We could do with Falkirk getting an equaliser now.
  6. Inverness CT -V- Dumbarton

Sounds like we're well on top now. Quite rare for us to be in front after conceding first goal. Keep it up lads.

  9. Suspensions v Dumbarton 14/04/18

Those last 5 games are going to be tough with the absences noted above. If we do come up short this season, I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that the main reason, over the season, would be our indiscipline. I've stopped counting the number of red and yellow cards we've had, plus the penalties we've conceded. Although marginally better of late it is still an issue that the manager has to get right next season.

I second that. Give the lad a proper chance instead of just these 10 minute cameos. Re Billy, I cannot believe that anyone would seriously want him back. He has been overrated for years in my opinion.

Yes, we could have done with Falkirk doing us a favour today, as realistically Dunfermline, out of the top 4, look like the only one we can catch. I'm just starting to believe that it is possible.

Terrific stuff. Maybe our renowned seer is going to be proven right. Let's go for it in these last few minutes.
  18. Scottish cricketers 'robbed'

Scotland narrowly failed to qualify for next year's cricket world cup today, when a combination of bad weather and a poor umpiring decision saw them lose to the once mighty West Indies by only 5 runs when heavy rain stopped play. I know the VAR system in football is getting a bad press right now, but its equivalent in cricket, the DRS system, has been used at the top level for years reasonably successfully. Unfortunately it was not being used in the world cup qualification tournament just coming to an end, and one of Scotland's best batsmen was on the rough end of a very poor lbw decision , which, had DRS been in use, would certainly have been overturned in Scotland's favour. On top of that, Scotland lost out when rain stopped play with about 14 overs left, when they needed 74 runs to win at little more than 5 an over, when the infamous Duckworth/Lewis method of deciding rain delayed matches came into force, indicating that Scotland were 5 runs below the 'par' score when rain washed out the match. Everyone knows that in almost all one day matches there is a huge increase in the batting side's scoring rate towards the end of an innings, so how D/W can deduce that with 14 overs left Scotland would not have been able to marginally increase their scoring rate to achieve the required runs is just incomprehensible. So a historic victory over an established international team, and qualification for cricket's world cup, which looked on the cards, for most of the day was denied them. Bad luck Scotland. You really were 'robbed' today.

  20. Penalty Kicks

Apart from Tansey, who had a decent record, in recent years we have been really poor at penalties. Even Billy Mckay, although he scored a few, never inspired confidence. Several of the ones he scored were poorly struck and probably would have been saved had the goalkeeper just stood still. Since Tansey, we hardly seem to have got any penalties, and most of those have been missed. Going back further, I agree with DD that Rooney was decent.
  21. Caley Jags 2017/18 squad + changes in/out

Too early to write Meekings off, but I think we had the best out of him, before his injury. Although I don't follow Dundee closely, it would appear that Meekings is nowhere near the player he was.
  22. MulrAneY 15

Don't know who he has, or hasn't, fallen out with but he certainly has been given enough chances. For me he hasn't lived up to his early promise (mainly his speed), and the couple of times I've seen him recently, (admittedly only on TV), I've thought he has been really poor. Young Mackay looks far more dangerous in the few cameo appearances he has had. I would not be surprised, or sorry, if Mulraney left at season end.

  25. Scottish cricketers 'robbed'

Well, so much for lengthy bans. Smith only 1 match plus a fine, and Bancroft only a fine. Joke. Mind you ball tampering has gone on for years and usually unpunished, including, if I remember, a certain England captain, Mike Atherton.
