When Will We Get Our Own Identity?

I know the club is still young and it is only a few short years since we were two clubs who were staunch rivals of each other but when do you think our club will have enough of our own history for our fans to claim our own identity? Do we still hang on to old allegiances from the "big" teams we used to support?

One of our more popular chants "Care/Stand Free" is a chant which Aberdeen made their own many years before the merger, we have seen sectarianism creep into the stands with the "Bobby Sands" song and BJK banner earlier in the season and now I have noticed a signature on these forums referring to "Bloody Sunday", I understand that the user is trying to play on Butcher's blood soaked bandage but to many of the older users on this site Bloody Sunday will mean something a lot more sinister.

Can we not find our own identity instead of latching on to other clubs chants and political affiliations?

I will donate ?250 to the Supporters Trust or a charity of the PA's choice if "Monster" by The Automatic is played at full volume when the teams are coming onto the park tomorrow.

who cares where perth is actually, good song get it played!

What about some other highland songs for the tannoy or songs to sing to get back on tpoic?

;) :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018:

Off topic maybe but fun banter. The kind we used to have....................................................pre Brew.

Guys, if you know you geography you'll know that Perth falls within the highland bounbary as can be seen HERE I know the chosen map isn't clear but Perth is right on the highland boundary and Dunkeld is west and north and well within the boundary.

Apologies after checking it would seem I was wrong, however the map you used Alex is based on the Scottish Clan map, I was basing mine on geological maps. The boundary fault line lies a fair bit further south than I remembered stretching from Helensburgh to Stonehaven. See here.

EDIT looking at it again it would seem that Perth is indeed South of the Highland Boundary Fault, Inverness however is North of it.

Will the PA be up for a bit of charitable high volume fun?

I will also give the bingo caller at the Clach Club ?25 if he plays Caledonia at HT at the Sunday night bingo. The blue rinsers will swing their knickers to that one.

There is 2 distinct lines on my Esso Road Map. Is the Little Chef above or below the fault?

Think so but it is an old map tho!

Used to be well known landmarks. In 1980 the only 2 structures that could be seen from space were The Great Wall of Chine and The Little Chef in Spean Bridge.

Christ to feck...this is supposed to be a thread about establishing a club identity and hopefully a signature song.

Quelle surprise...it has been hijacked by the knobends who think they know everything there is to know about the History of Scotland.

Get a grip, read the title of the topic...AND POST SOMETHING RELEVANT.

What side of the fault was The Sookalorum on?

If the Sookalorum was a male, like myself, who lived witha female then he was always on the wrong side of the fault line.

In terms of songs we prob have enough to claim our own but we just dont sing them! I always thought that ICT should try and promote themselfs as a Highlands club and try to draw support from the whole of the Highlands as the only Highland Premier league team and maybe even try to promote the club at Highland games events in USA, Canada etc. They do play Highland Cathedral before the teams come out but its so quiet you can hardely hear it, turn it up a notch. There is a highland flag that we could start taking which is predominately blue as well, or Jacobite flags etc

I think there something in this Joe.

ICT could and should play on the fact that they represent the Highlands of Scotland.
