My predictions for the rest of the

Now that the cold stark reality of the state of our club has hit everyone who was taken in by the "Bounce right back" con, myself included, I would like to share some thoughts as to how I now see our season panning out.

1, We will finish in the lower half of the table but we will avoid the bottom two places.

We are just not good enough to challenge for the top spot and should concentrate on picking up enough points to avoid relegation.

2, Butcher and Malpas will be here until the end of their contracts, we cannot afford to get rid of them and pay for another management team to replace them but we should start looking NOW for their replacements so that as soon as they are off the books we have someone prepared to take over, who has a good idea of who he wants in his squad and how he is going to rebuild our team.

3, January transfer window will be near silent as far as players coming in and we will only replace squad members which we lose during that period, this will be done through loan deals and short term contracts.

4, We will have a decent run in the Scottish cup, no-one is going to give us any respect due to our state atm and this is when we produce the good runs.

With the current situation at our club at this time a successful season for me now would be to avoid dropping another division, win the challenge cup and beat the slumdogs 3 more times any more than this will be a bonus and will add to my enjoyment of the season. There is no point beating ourselves up over poor performances when we know that we are poor anyway, we might as well enjoy what we can and look forward to a year or two of rebuilding and improving. This is how I am going to get myself through this year anyway.

1) In an interview for the Inverness Courier, Terry Butcher expresseses his dissapointment with recent results but assures readers that he and the players are working incredibly hard behind the scenes. He encourages ICT fans to 'get behind the boys' afterall, they are only a couple of decent results from 'turning the corner'.

2) Fans become increasingly agitated as our season continues to flatline. Criticism of Butcher's team selections become more vocal as local youngster Nick Ross is inexplicably frozen out of the first team squad and released on a free along with Roy McBain to sign for Ross County.

3) As the transfer window opens Ryan Esson moves to Motherwell in a swap deal for Michael Fraser. 4 unknown free agents from the Vauxhall Conference are brought in on trial along with an un-named 7 foot tall Lithuanian striker.

4) Following a humiliating 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Ayr United Terry Butcher defiantly vows to 'fight on' claiming that he underestimated the scale of the 'rebuidling job' that he'd undertaken when he joined the club.

5) With 5 games remaining, ICT appear to have achieved safety sitting 9 points above second bottom Morton in the relegation play off position but Butcher inexplicably starts to play Richie Foran at centre half (only 14 goals short of his 20 goal target) and a late collapse leads to relegation.

6) The ICT board releases a statement promising a 'bounce back' policy for 2010 2011 and promptly fire Butcher. In a display of intent and ambition, Charlie Christie is unveiled as the new first team coach. In his first press conference he states that he feels more prepared for the ICT post than first time around as he'd used his time outside of the spotlight to deepen his knowledge of the game and even answers a question in fluent Italian.

13. Renegade is appointed to his/her (i suspect the latter :P ) rightful place with Barry Wilson as assistant.

Prozac?

Come January we will be playing the retained U-19's because, if memory serves correct, a number of first team players will be out of contract and the rest will be free to pre-sign.

TerrynJune will be here to the end of the season, as we can't afford to sack them.

We will finish mid-table, bottomish mid-table.

There will be a little transfer activity, but nothing to right home about.

We will fluke the Alba Cup and a half decent SC Cup run.

Derek Adams will be the next manager with CC as his assistant. Money will be found.

The whole straight back-up thing was a season ticket marketing ploy, and I fell for it. Thankfully.

We gotta take the rough with the smooth, that is what being a long-term fan is about.

Nah, I'd bring someone else in. Barry can be involved if he likes, but I'd probably have someone else lined up.

My predictions are that this forum will continue to have ridiculous negative comments whatever happens for the rest of the season!!

A bit like that one then...?
