1445: TEAM NEWS FROM THE CALEDONIAN STADIUM:

Inverness CT:

Esson, Tokely, Munro, Shinnie, McCann, Duff, Hayes, Ross, Rooney, Odhiambo, Foran. Subs: Tuffey, Golabek, Duncan, McBain, Morrison, Sutherland, Sanchez.

St Johnstone:

Smith, Maybury, Grainger, MacKay, Duberry, Morris, Millar, Craig, Jackson, Parkin, Samuel. Subs: Enckelman, Rutkiewicz, Myrie-Williams, Dobie, Haber, Caddis, Moffat

McCann in, Duncan Out. Everything else as Aberdeen. Not sure i like it though, pedz is mysterious for us.

Hmmm, Duncan onto the bench with it being Duff and, presumably, Ross in def mid. Bit of a surprise.

I think Butcher will play Foran in the deeper role with Ross wide: that's what he did against Aberdeen, despite Ross doing well in the middle when he came on against St Mirren.

I feel sorry for Duncan losing his place as he's done nothing wrong. I'd like to have seen Duff stay at RB for now, even though it's not his preferred position: as far as I remember we only have McCann till January anyway.

:irritated: colin samuel.

nothing goal, shinnie sounds as if he missed it in the air. samuel snuck in. :irritated:

FFS. 0-1. Sounds like McCann might have been culpable. Hope St Johnstone aren't as good at shutting up shop as Hamilton were.

BBC live text spokes about 55% possession for them, and two shots to null... :ponder:

C'mon ICT!!! :ictscarf:

This is dreadful. Not a single attempt on goal so far. Second best all over the pitch.

First ICT shot after 45 minutes. What's the problem today, I wonder? We didn't have that many chances in the previous two games, but we at least had a few. Maybe give Sanchez a run in the second half? He made a difference when he came on against Hibs.

I always have a bad feeling about games that we got a good result the game before.

Always have faith in a comeback aswell though, even though it doesn't always pan out.

Roll on the next 45.

according to Sportsound, Butcher was doing his nut just before half time ..... I have a feeling that those left standing after his team talk will do better in the second !!!

duncan on, mccann off, gotta reckon duff will go to right back. fingers crossed for this one. we really need something!!!! terribly flat sounding

yaaassssss :ictscarf: jonny hayes!

Inspired sub?

1-1 Hayes, a minute after a Saints save from what sounded like out best move of the match. We've got the quality up front to steal this, as long as they keep the pressure on from now on.

Get Dani on for Ross and let's go for the three points, we could go third!

sutherland on for odi

4th! 4th? 4th!!

Incredible.

Bad luck to Aberdeen who lost today. What chance did they have though with those injuries, that weather, the referee, climate change, the Tory cuts, Spain winning the World Cup etc etc etc.

It's all conspired against McGhee. You can't hold the p1ss-poor run of results against them.

We were feckin hopeless in the first half and only a great save from Esson kept us in the match. Who knows what Tokely was thinking when he ducked under the ball which led to their goal.

We didn't get going in the second half until Butcher hooked the abysmal McCann replacing him with Duncan and swapped Foran with Ross. Hopefully Butcher now realises that Ritchie is wasted in defensive midfield.

I think today is definitely a point gained as we were second best for the majority of the match.

Poor performance in general but a point is a point. Duncan should have started instead of McCann IMO. Pushing Foran further up the park certainly helped. Next week I would play:

Esson, Duff, Munro, Tokely, Shinnie

Duncan, Ross

Hayes, Odhiambo, Foran

Rooney

He may have had a shout from Esson, who knows, but you are right, it was a shambles in the first half, one of our poorest, in a long list of poor first halfs.

Second half we seemed to have felt the wrath of Terry, but in all honesty. Terry caused it by not starting Duncan................whats going on Butch.

Just thought I would enlarge on my previous.

Jonny Hayes was rubbish today............goal apart. After that he kept getting chopped down. We were totally feckless in the first half and deservedly went in behind. It probably should have been worse, but Esson pulled off a fabulous one on one block.

Second half we upped our game, well we could not go down a gear that's for sure. We continued to make it easy for the Perth back four with aimless balls, but once we got the hang of it, we started to look dangerous..... well, as dangerous as we can look whilst playing tripe.

Hayes scored a decent breakaway goal while being scythed down once again. Rooney almost scored with a glancing header and we thought here we go. Another move brought a point blank reaction save from the Perth keeper, stunning really, but the ball would not roll for us. Perth then got to grips and quelled our energy and eventually saw out the game.

That's it from the North stand anyway.

Why was Russell dropped...............??? big question for Butcher to answer, and he keeps doing it.
