Robert B Sherman, half of the famous songwriting duo behind a string of Disney musical hits, has died. One of his most famous co-creations was the word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Well spotted. I enjoy any sort of reminder of that victory, no matter how tenuous the link.

I would have thought that a more apt Sherman composition for Terry would have been "Trust In Me" from the Jungle Book !!!

Reading an article about how Sherman supposedly came up with the word, I note that more than 10 years prior to his song an American music hall singer called Gloria Parker wrote and recorded "Supercalafajalistickespeealadojus". There was a court case but she was unsuccessful in claiming breach of copyright because similar nonsense words had apparently been around for a long time previously.
