Seeing as the past months worth of games have been pretty poor and have generated quite a lot of negative reaction and navel gazing - is it time to start thinking about rebuilding the squad with an eye on next year, as surely this years chances are beginning to look decidedly ropey.

It wont be any time soon we will have even as little as £5k to pay a fee for someone. Based on our current position that's probably about 2 months wages paid to an experienced or more senior player in our squad (there may be the odd exception who gets more but wont be many these day s - many will be on less).

As for the thistle team from 1993/4 that leached onto Caley they would have struggled  to reach mid table in the Highland League today never mind take and Scottish cup scalps

What's your definition of "big"?  I'll grant you that Thistle's last few seasons in the HL weren't good.

But in their last four seasons, County finished in positions 1, 1, 5, and 3. In that last season they were equal on points with Caley but lost out on goal difference.

That's a loss to the HL by any normal standards.
