Their fans are generaly twats in their attitude and songs they sing but your higher than thou attidute is boring. One guy invaded the pitch, wow. We had far more invading the pitch against Ayr and that was deemed as a great atmosphere and game by most people. And everyone here was creaming themselves over Antwerp fans posting posting their videos and they had flares so is it only ok when certain team do it? Maybe it would be better if everyone sat on their arse in silence instead. If you went to a game in Europe or South America that had a real red hot atmosphere you would prob have a heart attack at all the 'bad behaviour.'
  2. I've just been down to Manchester and this is typical of the pub debates going on. Can't wait for the season to start (language not suitable for work or kids btw !) Man City fan spells it out to deluded United

Think he's as good as Alexander, but McGregor and Gordon are better IMO, that's why I said I could see him getting a place on the bench if Gordon's injuries keep re-occurring.

He was the best player on the park for me yesterday
  5. It kind of does though. :_lol: "You've s***ed the c*** of the devil for too long and now you're going to have to swallow." That is inspiring. **slams door on way out to find gypsies**
  6. ah well, maybe it' just me. That's the sort of (mindless yet amusing) banter you get when your rivals are on your doorstep. Utd and City fans are in the same pubs, offices and schools....that clip just parodies the sort of 'you're cr@p', 'no you're cr@pper' type of argument that goes on 24/7. Perhaps if the ICT merger had never taken place it'd still be happening in Inverness? I've certainly met fans of both Caledonian and Inverness Thistle who regret the merger and miss the local rivalry.
  7. I didn't see this at all. Thought they did very well but were under so much pressure from Duncan and Cox collapsing in the second half. I didn't think they collapsed so much as Celtic came out a different team in second half. They kept posession and kept driving. Loads of positives to take from it though. Ross showed he deserved his start. Hayes ran rings around Mulgrew. Odhiambo looked a lot more in control this season. Gillet has a lot more to give. McCann looked solid as did Cox. All in all I think we have a team who will do well this season. We have to play for the full 90 minutes though.

just keep the south stand for away fans, use the whole main stand for home support, and keep the uncovered wing free unless it doesn't sell out or the away fans sell their allocation and want more. keep them separate instead of mixed in. Only seems to be 2 or 3 teams that have a bit of a foolish support.....i think it must be a central belt thing!
  9. People need to stop having little digs at the main stand because it is discouraging the few fans who do make noise to stop I'm not having a dig at the Main Stand. Rather pointing out the fact that this normally silent area of the stadium actually made some noise yesterday. Simple.

You have to admit that the defensive line up has to be given time to gel and get to know each other but I have real concerns about the personnel. As I see it Gillet and McCann are traditional full backs. McCann is solid enuff defensively and rarely leaves his blades of grass but is not exciting going forward - but then again he had the outlet of Hayes - and we need a right back who defends and covers - but he did not appear to cover inside yesterday - perhaps that was his instructions. Gillet has pace and an attacking penchant - I think that the is going to be a real find - but again yesterday he stuck wide for the most and again gave little cover inside - although Fortune played wide all day. Hopefully the full backs will learn to push forward more with Cox and Duncan responsible for the cover. At the end of the day I would prefer to see Proctor in at right back. I was really worried about the "partnership" of Rosscoe and Granty - They may well be solid in the air and in the tackle but the central defence looked extremely shaky when peeple ran at them and Cellic got in behind far too often. Rosscoe just doesnt have the pace any more and he started going deeper and deeper - evidently for the fear of pace and movement. Granty should have been shouting his head off at the other defenders and pulling them out but he appeared to decide to cover them and that kept us deep. Granty isnt exactly quick over the ground and that is why we need the likes of McCann and especially Gillet to be tucking in. Granty has never been as good since the Machine left - He appears to have gone from season to season as the one out and out central defender - and although he has done his bit, especially last season - he is given too much responsibility and I would give the vice captaincy to Esson and get him shouting the odds. i am afraid that I would give Innes a run instead of Rosscoe. Having said all that it is without doubt that if amateurs like maself have these reservations that seasoned ex defenders like Terry and Mo will sort this out in training and on the SPL pitches.
  11. as per hayes it appears he's not quite 100% match fit, would be better suited as a 2nd half sub to add some explosive runs to a tired defense. i think mccann has been good pre-season in the games i have seen him play, i thought getting some right back on loan from hibs that he may have been a dud but as i said, he's been active and wants the ball. i would prefer proctor & golabek to partner rosco and munro in defense but mccann has been good so far. hayes needs to not start next week, he was good, not not great today....and we all know what he's capable of when he's on great form. give sanchez a start with eric and ross see what happens, then bring off eric/ross for gil and hayes on for sanchez in the 2nd.
