Anyone who views this as in any way positive is misguided. Fact is that FIFA is desperate to abolish (what they view as the unprecedented privilege) the individual teams within these islands and this move will be grasped on. As far as the officials are concerned this is the island of England with GB just another name for it. TB shows exactly the stance I would expect from a former England captain being asked about an English Olympics. I disagree with his view in the strongest possibly terms and cannot understand why anyone who claims to support, follow or have the interests of our national team at heart can think otherwise. Wiser than TB have aired their views very publicly and are diametrically opposed. These people are of course Scottish, Irish or Welsh. I have yet to here an English pundit speak against the move and don't expect to. England and GB are the same aren't they? On a separate note, I think it is nonsensical that football is part of the Olympic games and have no interest in who takes part or wins. Don't have a clue who has won the title in the past or when it started. I can however, name every World Cup winner, the scores in most of the finals, where it took place and who the star was. Surely this is the same for most football fans? Why am I bothered if I have no interest in Olympic football? Simply because it undermines my national team's identity, gives encouragement to those who seek a one team island and is the beginning of the end. STOP IT NOW!

Its a "loose thread" for those who want to remove power from the home nations to grab onto though ... unravel enough thread and you're screwed !!!! For me, the answer seems simple ..... re-instate the home internationals as an U23 event (or one that mirrors the Olympic rules) - even if it is only once every 4 years - and make the prize for winning it very straightforward. The winning nation represents UK/GB at the Olympics, and runs the team under the auspices of its own independent FA association.

He obviously has not added his birthdate into his profile, but just have to say Happy Birthday to someone many of us know, one of the founders of the "Caley Inn Crew" that pre-dated the Innes Bar supporters group, and a season ticket holder along with myself right above the tunnel for many years (and counting [in his case]) ....... One day a big bird may sh!t like a dog on this guys head but, and I'm assuming he still has a means of reading this forum, I also made enquiries last year on this subject and found that we are not running a lottery. We are a group of people clubbing together to help our football club. Neither the club nor this site guarantee a prize draw at the end of the season. The club say they will provide a memento in exchange for sponsorship. Whatever that memento turns out to be we choose to draw lots to find it a home. A lottery must guarantee a prize. We guarantee nothing.

I see in the P&J today Butcher says that ICT will have to go with a much younger and less experienced squad next season due to financial constraints. That just makes the reasoning to get rid of Duncan and Munro even more baffling.

I think this is all a big deal over nothing. Olympic football isn't a big deal and most of the time it's utter garbage, full of players you've never heard of. I don't think "Team GB" will have any influence on whether the Scotland, Wales etc teams survive and when the British team was on the go before (managed by Matt Busuby I may add), nothing changed. I don't think it will change anything this time either. Much a-do about nothing if you ask me.

Plus everybody should have the perfect fruit preparation for an official bus trip to a footie match. Buy 4-6 large oranges plus a 10 ml syringe and large syringe needle (green) - plunge needle into orange and drain off most - but not all - the juice. Insert the favoured alcoholic product into the syringe and inject back in to the orange. Add a small transparent waterproof plaster to the injection site - place in a Tesco bag - and enjoy.

Totally disagree, would be setting a very dangerous precedent and could not trust FIFA under any circumstances. This would be the first step towards losing our national status and identity as a footballing nation.

What seems to have escaped this so called "Fan" is that what we do is for the benefit of the club and in trying to achieve whatever it is they think they are doing, it's not the site (or those who run it) who will suffer. I wouldn't expect this kind of petty minded silliness from any fan of the game, far less someone who claims to be "one of our own". It's unfortunate that PayPal took the stance they did, despite us having had the "rules" of the player sponsorship checked out by lawyers (yup, that's the extreme some people force us to have go to) when we were threatened on this before, but they (PayPal) were ultimately quite helpful when it came to the proposed solution...and as Scotty points out, probably did us a favour in the long run by pushing us along a more suitable way of doing things.

Nah, don't like it. Best ever home kit at the moment, one of the worst away kits yet and there's been some bad ones! And white again? Is there no one with any imagination at this club?!
