So that'll be another insight into to the quality of debate we can expect from the Yes side then? Charles, in your previous post you said "I suppose the next thing will be people painting their faces blue before chapping at doors, kissing babies and dishing out leaflets with photos of Alex Salmond". Is that another insight into the quality of debate we can expect from the No side?1 point

Of course, it is always that simple. The EU membership is not automatic and although Salmond would have you believe that he is right and the EU Commission is wrong and will at some point learn the error of their ways, promising a referendum on EU membership may be to ask if we want to join, not if we want to leave! It is a hollow promise, since they can't lose either way and they will expect most Scots to vote Yes to EU! I presume there will be another one on whether or not we want to remain a part of / join NATO? Whatever happened to the concept of representational government? When did this idea that all "big" decisions need a referendum start to exercise the chattering classes? If that is the way we are moving then I would like to vote on the National budget every year please, since that has a direct bearing on my life. Will I get that in an independant Scotland? My point was that we are more likely to have a referendum on EU membership as an independent country than as part of the UK, not that democracy should be devolved to the point of every decision being put to the entire population in some sort of game show, although that might be an idea for our courts? Let's hope the voting public put more thought to the most important decision many in Scotland will ever make. The right choice for the right reasons.1 point

Different point but probably not worth a thread in its own right ... does anyone else get annoyed by the number of replays in the highlights ... in the Ross County highlights each goal got 5 showings and each other clip chosen 3 ... how about showing more of the match with less replays ... can always run the clip again if you want to watch it again.1 point

Any publicity is good publicity they say. I feel that those who are going to go to a game will regardless, in fact if the game earns a little extra hype via television previews before hand then it may help increase attendances, I certainly don't think it will harm them. The question was is the game changing? Not sure if this is "a new dawn" as the OP said but without the blue half of the ugly sisters broadcasters have to focus more on the other teams in the league, this exposure is beneficial no matter how you look at it. For so long we have heard folk say (quite rightly) that the league is a 2 horse race, now they get the chance to watch some other games and thankfully the teams involved (well ICT at least!) have provided good entertainment, played good football and shown the game in a positive light. The more of this the better, our game will only benefit from it. I'm not saying we have a marvellous league but I feel it is a better product WITHOUT the perpetual 2 horse race and involvement of the OF as a joint entity. Hopefully Mr. Green's dumb threat to never join the SPL while he is in charge at ibrox is a real threat as the longer the 2 OF teams are not in the league, the stronger the other teams can get and the better product the SPL becomes. I would much rather watch Hibs v Dundee United than Tottenham v Reading or some such EPL game simply because the teams involved mean more to me but I'm not daft enough to think it is a higher level of football on show. Is it more exciting? Probably, who knows - depends on the game itself, which is almost always an unknown quantity before the game starts. I find it strange that people in Scotland, and the powers that be (SPL, SKY, etc) seem to think having one of the OF on a televised game each and every week makes our league more appealing to a viewing audience - this is b0ll0x! I've lived in englandshire for extended periods on 2 separate occasions and genuine football fans down south have little time for talking Scottish football with you until they find out you are NOT an OF supporter, the moment you tell a fan you are an ICT supporter they ask you loads of questions about the game and say how they dislike the old firm and their fans. I've had this happen many times with fans of different teams and the questions they ask are very interesting, they accept that there is more money in the English game therefore they can attract better players but they always like you supporting "your own" team. Hopefully we are witnessing a change in Scottish football but we'll have to wait and see but there is no doubt there is the opportunity to alter the public perception of the Scottish game. Are those in charge wise enough to capitalise on this however?...1 point

My main fear prior to the game was that it would be billed and looked forward to as this great tie, and in the end it was dull 0-0 borefest. It was anything but. It had everything; great goals, chances, excitement, even some fighting. You can't ask for more than that! My key points - The long ball that we all hated and called to be well...punted, is well and truly gone and ICT are all the better for it. Continuing to play this passing based, attacking football and good times may be ahead. Contrary to what some were saying, I thought Jones started well but disappeared after 25 minutes. Still wasn't bad though, but I wonder if Morrison is the better option to play alongside Draper. Roberts, despite having a good first half was finished by half time and should have hooked earlier. All in all, ICT won and won well and long may that continue.1 point

I have not missed a home match in a very long time. More friday night football please. Great atmosphere. The best for years ! Great service in a very full bar tonight prior to another brilliant performance. The stadium was buzzing. Forget about Munro and Tokely etc.....They were great servants to the club. ..... All the fans who have deserted the team in the last while should get back down and support the team because they are really impressive to watch and in my opinion the best squad of players I have seen at ITC. You dont know what you are missing ! Well done Tel and Mo !!! PS. I couldnt believe the number of County supporters who left after the third goal. Whas it something we said !!!1 point

Apparently, Levein has won 30% of competitive matches as Scotland boss (two of which were against Liechtenstein). Berti Vogts was regarded as rubbish (which he was), yet he won 38.5% of competitive matches, while Burley (hounded from day one) won 37.5%. It could also be added that Levein arguably has a better group of players to choose from than the other too, perhaps the best since France 98. He is rubbish. FACT!1 point
