  4. A few reactions to the draw have been tacked-on to the end of the 'All To Play For' thread, but I like your enthusiasm! I don't think anybody could predict the 4 semi finalists with any great degree of confidence...I reckon all 8 clubs will feel they've could have got better and could have got worse! Ties are a month away so teams could go out of form or have injuries etc. What strikes me is how 'refreshing' the draw looks without the Ugly Sisters in it and without that pair and the likes of Killie, Partick and St. Mirren also absent, there's a real North and East of Scotland flavour to it!

  5. sorry i'm not convinced by big Toby, if Vincent should be dropped then like what Renegade said move Ross into the middle and maybe Danny Williams given the job on the wing, looks the brightest of all the fringe players that have had game time IMO. Polworth could be a shout for Saturday as he adds an unknown problem for Hibs to deal with and has definitely looked the part in pre-season, even discounting his wonder strike against Raith. Even still, the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" definitely should be highlighted as the same side that has done as well so far did win on Tuesday, just are we getting too predictable?

  6. 3 games between Sunday and Friday will probably necessitate a wee bit of squad rotation.

  7. I wouldn't argue at all with that, but I would just say that IMO the BBC news is negative about pretty much everything, it seems to be a rule with their editors. To give a non-political example, a few weeks ago they announced with an air of doom and gloom that "Only 10% of British adults have taken up sport as a result of the London Olympics". Let's turn that around. 4 millions adults have taken up sport as a result of the Olympics. Phenomenal! The typical BBC news headline is "EVERYTHING IS JUST RUBBISH.........according to a new report published today." Now, had that report said the exact opposite, it probably wouldn't get a mention at all, but if it did, the story would be "Critics have poured scorn on a report which says everything is just great!" You could be onto something there. However even allowing for my personal bias, I thought that suppressing the hacking of emails story was scandalous - far more sensational, or rubbish as you put it, than the story they used that a YES supporter was commissioned to write a pro- Indy article for £100. Also, the recent story about the Latvian authority who was quoted as saying that Scotland would need to seek entry to the EU. He said that rUK would need to do likewise, but BBC Scotland never bothered mentioning that. It was getting so predictable that I would read up on a story during the day, then see what spin BBC Scotland put on it at 6.30.

  8. I think we need to shake things up as well. Esson Foran Draper Williams Polworth Shinnie Doran Brill Watkins McKay Warren My thinking is simple. Brill is brilliant (lol) so he should play in the Shinniesta role. Warren is a beast at giving the ball some beef in the air so he should go up front to partner McKay. Esson returns to goal because he seems like a funny guy and Foran and Draper can protect him by smashing anyone that comes near him. Williams and Shinnie will play the wing back roles because they are fast with Polworth protecting the two CBs and you always need to have a young local lad in the team otherwise it's a well known fact that your side is garbage. Doran remains wide right and Watkins should start because he looked amazing against Clach. Makes sense IMVHO.

  9. Someone said to me last night, "What on earth happened to Craig Beattie?" Good question. Still in his 20's, he's resorted to playing for Dundee after failing to score for his last club, Barnet. Played for 10 clubs in the last 6 years since leaving Celtic. Yet back in 2007 he was scoring a vital last minute winning goal for Scotland, sparking wild celebrations in the Yngwie household. I remember this because I became a dad 9 months later!

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.
