  1. No idea why he has been called up. The lad isn't even that good. I don't think anyone should want buy him right now. Maybe in a few years time. He should sign a new 4 year deal with ICT and try and get better with us before leaving.
  2. Not sure it was necessarily a 'debacle'. Sbragia (then Scotland U19 manager) simply omitted Harper from a squad on a 'horses-for-courses' basis. But that's in the past - Sbragia has since been promoted to U21 boss and I'm delighted he's picked Ryan Christie in his first squad. Incidentally, I notice that Scot Gemmill, the managerial successor for the U19s, has also omitted Jack Harper (who is still eligible), from his squad. Doubt there'll be a dicky-bird said about that, though. There's a touch of the 'Ben Greenhalgh' about all of this 'controversy'. That guy has had the burden of being 'linked' with Inter Milan around his neck his whole career - photos of him with Jose Mourinho and being the body-double of Christiano Ronaldo didn't help. A huge burden of expectation that his limited talents simply didn't warrant. Harper, being on the books of Real Madrid at an early age, created some sort of deluded expectation that he should automatically be in the U19 squad on the back of the club he plays for. However, he's now signed for Brighton and Hove Albion, so will now be able to show what he can do at a more 'modest' club...without the stellar expectations from folk who I doubt have ever even seen him play!
  3. Just confirming that we have now donated £1,000 to FARA – a charity which helps some of Romania’s most vulnerable and neglected children. FARA (which is Romanian for ‘without’) provides homes, therapy and education for orphaned and abandoned children in Bucharest and other parts of Romania. £640 was left over after paying for the coaches, £50 was donated anonymously by one of the 'time of first goal' winners and Kenny Cameron added another £310 on behalf of the club to make it up to £1,000. Thanks to all who contributed and hopefully we'll be welcomed back to Romania next year! For further information on FARA you can visit their website at http://www.faracharity.org
  4. Christie called up again... this time v. Northern Ireland Sat 5th September.
  5. He's clearly not interested in full time football, especially after he turned it down in order to go down a league after leaving Brechin. He's quite happy working as a plumber and getting his additional £650 a week to not have to try too hard.
  6. Perhaps Mr Bannerman or one of the other journalists on here can highlight this story of our fans' great gesture in Romania and indeed our club with the top-up cash. This would be very nice and positive PR in the press.
  7. ...I think we should concentrate on actually getting into the penalty area to start winning penalty kicks than worrying about who's going to take them!
