  1. When I put myself forward for election back onto the board of the Supporters Trust it was with the objective of presenting it to the next AGM as a society that was fit for purpose...and that objective has not changed. Other items have cropped up since then which have required some attention and they have been dealt with as necessary, but they cannot be allowed to distract from what needs to be done for the long-term benefit of the ICT Supporters Trust and the community it 'should' represent. If others choose to let their thoughts on me as an individual stand in the way of that, or if they refuse to work with any group/organisation because of my involvement with it...then that says more about them than anything I might say. So, in short, not getting involved in any associated discussion, arguments or tit for tat is not 'killing' me at all. Should the Supporters Trust board and/or members believe I am doing (or not doing) anything which is damaging to the society, then procedures exist for my removal. If anyone would like details of those procedures, then you can email a request to [email protected]
  2. It started out as an idea to leave the motor at home when I got my bus pass. The Canary would have been proud of me looking after the auld wallet! Then one thing led to another, I parked the bus pass and started commute cycling full time. That was five years and 44,444 miles ago. That was to support Solving Kids Cancer in the UK: they fund the families of kids who can't get treatment in the UK. Then the story reached Adelaide, and in particular got onto the radar of Neuroblastoma Australia. They emailed me out of the blue, about 18 months ago, and asked if I'd do a bike ride for them. That ride, totally self funded between the mad ginger Gabby and myself, was Ride2Cure: 2222km in 15 days. The book, which I didn't even start writing until I got home a month ago, is the inside story of the whole adventure, starting right back in 2013. There's a fair chunk of Caley Thistle content because the Highland March/Bike played such a prominent role. I plan on continuing to support Neuroblastoma Australia because all of their fundraising goes to laboratory research at the Children's Cancer Institute in Sydney. Only through research will the boffins be able to stop the conveyor belt of kids dying. All proceeds from the book will go to Neuroblastoma Australia.
  3. If we can pull off the Bolt signing that would give a welcome boost to our coffers what with all the extra shirts we would sell with his name on the back. A great move for the club if they can pull it off. Here's hoping!
  4. As you all of you are aware, we are slowly creeping into that time of the year where free agent transfers start to peak, just before the start of the Winter Transfer Window. I, have come up with an (albeit highly unlikely, and pretty are-you-drunk?) idea/signing. (Brace for it) Usain Bolt...(yep, you all think I'm off my nut), but as all (if not many) of you are aware, Bolt is looking to pursue a career in football and recently scored a double on his "debut" with Central Coast Mariners in Australia, though that game was a friendly, and he has not signed for them...I'm thinking we could get him in as his first club this winter, as A) You want to make a good impression for your first club I.e. not attempting to bankrupt them at negotiations, B) Need to sign for somebody before going to a massive club (he has mentioned wanting to play in the EPL) and C) He is coming to the age where you don't have a lot of time left as a player, he's 32. However, this is all dependant on finances and the case of OFW, and whether he'll be sold or sent on a free transfer. If (not counting on it) the board does make a move to sign him, it could and probably would expand the club's name around the world (If "Super Caley Go Ballistic Celtic Are Atrocious" and Lionel Nessi didn't enough). Another benefit, is that we will get MegaBucks when it gets to the time that he wants to go, as there will be club's globally that want his name. However, all of this may be my weird fantasies of seeing the club get big time again, and I bet my life on that everyone that has read this is saying "This lad is completely bonkers". If you have read this far without lobbing your computer out the window because of my seemingly imbecilic idea, another move could be to offer him a trial...
  5. Why stop at Bolt, we should sign Colin Kaepernick, he doesn't have a team and is a high profile athlete who'd sell a load of shirts. Maybe we could bid for Kyrie Irving, he's a flat earther and could hang out at that mad shop in Greig Street. Really enthused about how the squad is taking shape now guys!!
  6. Good to see Caley Thistle fans helping Celtic fans. It's what makes Scottish football special ?
  7. Have put a block on the sidebar on front page of forums and unread content pages ... just links to the Amazon page. If you and/or Yompa want to write an accompanying article we would be happy to put int in articles and promote it to our social media feeds too.
