  1. The main aim this season was to get promoted. Of course we haven't played well at times this season but we've got a chance which we would have bitten your hand off for at the start of the season. If we do win and get promoted, then the team will need radical surgery but this really isn't the time for a post like this as I think most fans can see we aren't a team of world beaters but the team are giving their all for the cause.

  2. At the start of the season, we’d all have been delighted if we knew we’d make the play off final and we have, for the first time since we got relegated. This season is a missed opportunity in my opinion, as our bad run stopped us challenging for automatic promotion. Equally our good runs contained good fortune and flattered us a bit. I really think the Gardyne episode set us back, but we have come back from that and, without consistently performing well, have got into the play off final and, in my opinion, we deserve to be there. The players are playing for each other and showing commitment and desire: they could easily have folded when Collum made poor decisions on Friday but they stood strong and got us the victory. We will have squad turnover whatever happens, as our loans will be leaving and we have a number out of contract. If we get promoted, and it is possible we will, we need to strengthen the squad if we are to be competitive in the Premiership, but we have a decent nucleus in guys like Ridgers, Devine, Carson, Allardice, MacGregor and Mckay. We need to find full backs, whichever league we end up in, and definitely a creative spark. If we lose Deas, we will need a new centre half too. We need to nurture our youngsters: Hyde looks very promising and Nicolson impressed me when he came on as sub a few times earlier in the season. I don’t think the posts I’ve read imply the delusional misconception you state, but a realistic delight that we are in the final with a chance of promotion. Roll on Friday and Monday!

  5. There seems to be this delusional misconception among a lot of our support that we somehow reached the play offs and the play off finals by playing great football and showing some kind of gritty character. The truth is that we finished 3rd in the poorest Championship we've seen in a long time, with a points total that would have struggled to find 5th place in previous seasons. I celebrated our wins as much as anyone else and I'll be over the moon if we stick it to St Johnstone, but let's not kid ourselves that this squad or the manager is anything special.

  6. Looking at St J result today then I'd say we should go in with a lot of confidence against a team very low on confidence I had a look at their team, they had McCart, Rooney, Gilmour, Middleton and Ciftci starting and Gordon, Brown, Hallberg, Craig and Hendry on the bench. And that was a Hibs team that just lost to now relegated DUNDEE last midweek. I'm sure Saints supporters will be overly concerned going into Friday despite our depleted squad. Believe guys, believe
