Two things stuck out for me 1) Cox and Stratford does not work.Despite their own limitations we need Duncan or McBain in the middle with Cox 2) Boy o boy do we need Imrie and Odihambo back to inject some pace and directness - Eagle is mince and Hayes can't do it all on his own (although he tried very hard. Unfortunately Rosscoe is suspended for the first 4 league games so that buggers that up a bit. Would imagine Proctor if fit or Stratford will start at right back. I imagine we will line up something like: Esson Proctor Bulvitis Munro Djebi Zadi Cox Stratford Eagle Sanchez Imrie Rooney I would imagine Barrowman will play if fit and Stratford will right back if Proctor is out.

I don't think anyone is saying that the performance was anything other than sh!te and that only getting through on penalties was a particularly good result. However, the point is that it was our first competitive game of the season with a team that had 4 players making debuts and another couple that had not had much of pre season due to injuries. There is no need to push the panic button based on that game. Remember that 2 first division sides were turfed out by lower division teams and a handful of others also only scraped through....

After a short pre-season it seems that this was almost being viewed as another pre-season game. Although the wrong attitude you could see why this is the case and it will be the same with Tuesday and next Saturday. In my view (and possibly TB) the season starts on 8th August and thats what we are building up for. These games against Anna and Montrose are not important in the context of this seasons aims... And anyway - We won!!

OK. I know that there is thread in the rumour mill on this but I'm wondering if there is any further clarification on what is going on with the under 19. I'm posting this in here as I'm dealing in facts only. On the official website it stated that 3 under 19's were being released and 3 were offered 1st team contracts. However, what about the rest of the squad? I've just been on the official website and the majority of last years under 19's have now been removed from the under 19 squad list Under 19 squad list. Where have Kieran Wilson, Michael Finnis, Sean Porter, Daniel Welsh, Matt Helmsley, Conor Rennie and Shaun Carroll gone. Have they been released? as we have no inidication or updated statement from the club. Edit: A quick bit of searching indicates that Conor Rennie has signed for Dundee? Our loss is our rivals gain it seems.

The squad is looking really light considering the season starts in 4 days. No back-up keeper with experience of first team football, Lack of cover in defence and no real wide players.... Lets hope Eagle signs up and one or two others are brought in.

Highlights reflect fairly poorly on Proctor particularly that shocking pass back around 9:30 of the first half video. Hopefully its a lack of match practice more than anything (or we get in a decent centre half to let Rosscoe play right back)

More injuries by the sound of it. Djebi Zadi didn;t play, Proctor went off as did one of the trialists. Hope they're short term and Ronney & Imrie get fit soon. Also pleasing our trialist wingers set up both goals.
