  1. Great league though. Anybody can beat anybody.
  2. Full time 4-1 ;)
  3. i actually think your wrong and our support will increase season after season You can keep us posted then And even when the football was terrific under Pele, at the new stadium the crowds fell away to about 1700 in div 1. We used to go down the A9 after a game asking what ICT had to do to get the great Inverness public to come and watch. I remember writing something around the time Denzil left, something about a public that didn't deserve him. We've gained a whole new support from the SPL days - at the moment we're one of the better supported clubs in the league - but evidence from the likes of Dunfermline shows that over a long spell in div 1 you slowly lose them.
  4. The time we played them when Boner got sent off, we had two double deckers from the Caley Club. Those buses were rocking from side to side going over the bridge at the end of that game. Happy days.
  5. It was Craig Thomson. EDIT - absent friend is right- he handled the game very well. Had the confidence to make decisions without being panicked into anything by the 'large' home support. Oh aye, GIRUY Celtic, I hope a similar fate awaits the other lot in the semis.
  6. Sorry to be an old cynic strathyjags but after a couple of years the novelty will wear off and you'll be left with your bedrock support. I'd hate to see Clach go under but it's happened to other teams in my lifetime. There's only so much people can do to keep the patient alive. I've been watching football since that annus horribilis 1966 and sadly, the overall trend is that Scottish Football is dying. I've been carrying a bit of optimism that ICT can buck that trend - we have a load of young fans who have yet to have kids of their own and bring them along. We're also offering a decent standard (usually), and we're far enough away so that people won't be so bothered travelling away down the A9 to watch the twins of evil, compared to clubs like Motherwell and Killie who are on their doorstep. You know how they say everything across the pond eventually happens here? Well in 1998 I saw my first baseball game in Toronto and I saw that you have ONE tier of Major League clubs franchises with huge salaries, then the next tier down is virtually parks leagues. Sure the players are nearly as good, but they earn next to nothing. Now you can see the same thing happening with the Champions League. A dozen or two clubs which are global brands, then wee diddy clubs like us. When I was at school you only had to worry about kids coming in with Rangers scarves (it was a proddy non-denominational school). Now they support anybody they like off the TV including Barca, Real etc. It's quite common in my area for people to have season tickets to Man U, Liverpool etc. We're all doomed. Private Fraser.
  7. Tend to agree with Johnboy. Mind you, you could see the linesman flagging right away, and they're miked up aren't they? So why the confusion?
  8. Had me going for a bit there Johndo :) ;) :) Aye it's the bottom 6 from last season's div 1. Put it another way, unless we finish in the top 4, we'll be playing in the Cup next November.
  9. Us old gits used to always go to the National. Maybe should try the Mallard for a change.....
  10. Aye Georgeios, obviously Ayr picked that up too last week :) :024:
  11. It wis the usual Rosscoe right foot punt after we had had some good, promising flowing football into their box. Then it came back to Ross. Well obviously it wasn't his usual, as it stayed in play, but that's another story. You should know Dougie never crosses it anyway.....
  12. Sanchez did score against Dundee (but I'd keep him in the hole anyway). Rooney looked like he was running through sand yesterday and it only got worse after an hour, mind you the pitch was a bit heavy. I'd keep him in this week though.
  13. Lower still I would say. Right amongst the dangleberries.
  14. It was Tokely you blind auld ****
  15. Loads of decent songs today and we even sang 'Ayr Ayr super Ayr' to help out the home support when it was 4-1. Best laugh for me was KingBeastie: "Our home support is wonderful Our home support is wonderful It's got a pipe and a crossword Our home support is wonderful" (or something like that). Even Russeldinho got a chant today when he got subbed late on :005:
  16. LoL that's a different player in the photo if you ask me. He's lost about 5 stone :025:
  17. Sorry Buffs, cannae make it this week. That means nae Yngwie either as he usually mooches a lift. Is the baldy man code for something else?
  18. Maybe they'll be signing Rory too.
  19. I think Richie boy milks it a tad with all the histrionics (can I claim the first use of 'histrionics' on CTO?) but he's a footballer for fecks sake. He must have a stiff neck watching those long punts come out of the sky. Keep it on the deck and he'll get his other 18 goals. Quality quote after the Alba semi BTW 'the only team in the Highlands'.
  20. The Mantis replied to davieB's topic in Caley Thistle
You need more of those tongue in cheek and whistly smileys in yer posts manfer.... it looks as though you're serious.
  21. The Mantis replied to davieB's topic in Caley Thistle
Of course his ball retention's not that bad manfer. He just moves inside as if he's about to take his man on, then changes his mind and passes it back to Golly..... feckin hopeless. Is Morgan still available BTW?
  22. Feck me, I've been pushing up daisies for 20 years now......
  23. You see Duncan "working very hard" because he's chasing the guy he has just given the ball to! I've said it on a different thread that Cox has become a shadow of his former self for the last month or so. In fact, the last time Cox showed up for a game was against Dundee. I stand by my statement though, Duncan is attrocious. Cox can at least pick a 5 yard pass. Re Duncan: see the bold bit! Re Cox: Yeah I actually saw your post Jay but I'm referring to 'people' not you specifically. Georgeios - is it not a case of teaching the old dog some of the tricks he's forgotten? Duncan was a stalwart under Pele and Robbo. He was outstanding against Celtic in the LC 4-2 game. His passing was never the best but he was never singled out for abuse till we were in the SPL. p.s. Don't even get me started on 'backpass' Eagle :P
  24. The same could be said about all you folk who slag off Duncan every week. What level have you played at, and how many years have you been watching? Because when I keep my eye on him, I see the very opposite from you - Duncan working extremely hard whether it's him that's lost the ball or somebody else. So what if he thinks he's better than he actually is. He never hides unlike a few others that 'grace' our midfield especially this season, and he gets stick for gifting the second goal to Buchanan last week despite the fact he was the only ICT player within 30 yards. Never mind just Stratford, I think people should be looking at the darling of the fans, Cox. What's he done for the past 6 or 7 weeks?
