A mate of mine from work was there too (and I was there about 6 years ago when it was about ?24). But I was at Liverpool last May (against MCFC funnily enough) and it was ?36. The game was gash though, the only entertainment was the away support plus Torres' goal.

Guy went to my school so a wee bit disappointed but not surprised. More of an Alan Hansen, ball-playing centre half and not the big physical punt up the park player who will run all day, which Brew is filling the squad with. Not surprised to see that Ritchie Byrne has signed on the same day.

Dear Douglas Congratulations on your report of (IC) Thistle v (Partick) Thistle in today's Herald, a national newspaper the last time I checked. Unfortunately I think you must mixed it up with the one you wrote for the PTFC fanzine, as I had to look at the scoreline at the top to find out that ICT, not PTFC, actually won the match by 3 goals. In fact, had it not been for the scoreline, I would have had great difficulty finding out who PTFC were actually playing. Now that you've been informed of your mistake, I look forward to reading the actual match report in my Herald tomorrow. Happy to help! JB

I must admit I nearly choked over my cornflakes this morning when I read the Herald. If it wasn't for the score at the top you would have a problem working out who 'Thistle' were playing. Wonder if the guy had his scarf on in the press box.

I'd forgotten what these arrogant tawts are like. As somebody once said on P&B (well once every day as it happens) 'why are PTFC fans so obsessed with the size of everybody else's support?'

They still own Firs Park John but hadn't the funds to bring the place up to required safety standards. They have signed a five year agreement to groundshare with Stennie and hope to raise funds in that time. Never realised that - cheers.

I remember reading the same thing in this morning's Herald.

TBH it's quite a pleasant walk if you come out the station, turn right along Academy Street and keep walking. It doesn't take that long either. On the way you'll pass Innes St where all the sophisticated people drink. Avoid all the nasty Rangers pubs nearby though

Hey I really miss that, a few jars at the National Hotel, then along the road and stuff the Thinks. Also the double deckers we used to run from the Caley Club and the singing on them in the middle of the bridge after we'd dished out yet another hammering.

I wondered that myself - last night the BBC did a piece on them but they were training at Firs Park. A place which of course holds a few memories for long term ICT fans.....

Googled 'PTFC' and got an acronym site 'Portland Timbers Football Club' plus some other lot from Glasgow. Then tried ICT and got 66 entries but not one was ours so I added it......

Come off it Harry - ICT offer (at the moment) SPL football and you reckon that's no incentive for a manager? You seriously think managers (who need a fairly decent sized ego to begin with) are going to start greetin' at a couple of banners? And you think ICT fans are demanding? I was never a massive Robbo fan either. I remember the team put on a fantastic performance in his first game at Love St but as a rule it was pretty dire stuff after Pele. Even beating Celtic at TCS, we were dire to watch (but maybe we were just spoiled). But those days seem like a dream now. To use a cliche, I'd take winning ugly right now as all we're doing is losing ugly.
