  2. Aye that’s a cracker. Here she is coming into Ardrossan 2 years ago this week
  3. We’ve got a motorhome booked late April for a week from Inverness. Tried one for 3 days a couple of years back but that was from Callander so couldn’t get far north. Going up Kylesku, Tongue etc but I’ll be steering clear of the minor roads around Lochinver, Drumbeg etc. Bad enough in a car especially when you meet somebody clueless coming towards you.
  4. He’ll be on the 6.30 same as my relatives. The morning one was cancelled. Got some good close ups of 2 stags in the village today, nothing bothers them these days, there’s droppings on the grass round the house.
  5. A Cluanie look about this with the long ridge of Beinn Loinne on the other side. Haven’t got GSV to check it ?
  6. Loch Seaforth at Ullapool this morning. Pre Storm Dennis, crossing was a dawdle. Tomorrow, not so much...
  7. Just been announced: Fri 1945. https://ictfc.com/scottish-cup-quarter-final-date-confirmed?fbclid=IwAR2igxmyniHpfwEyirFoPJeLk9ZWJSwHst2douN7fVPuKxT7o5ty5-XT7Cc
  8. Haha it was actually a May weekend we had at Ariundle. That was the day after the Hibs won the cup. Watched the game in the bar in Acharacle. Here's Ardnamurchan Pisa lighthouse for you ?
  9. That 2-2 game was tense. When we were 2-1 up I was actually feeling sick with the tension ? And driving up the road for the replay in that weather was something else.
  10. ? you mean I counted those 12 for nothing?
  11. I take it the official ICTFC Facebook page just nicks quotes off here ?
  12. You'd be horribly right... can't find the exact spot as GSV shows a very hazy day.
  13. OK here goes...
  14. Paterson also got us to the last eight as a tier 4 club in his first season, where we were unlucky to come up against Rangers with Gazza and Laudrup. This was after beating Livi plus higher league teams East Fife, featuring Steve Archibald, and Stenny.
  15. Lovat Hotel, Fort Augustus, no idea where it's taken from though.
  16. And 9 shocks against higher league opponents in 14 years outside the top flight?
  17. ICT and the Scottish Cup ? ? ? I make that 12 Quarter Finals.
  18. The cairn was built by an old friend of mine who died last year in his late 80s. He took a rock from each one of the 284 Munros. He finished them in 1982 and that was the first summit party I was at. His name was Gordon Park but he was called Highland Park ? He got a load of miniatures from Highland Park as sponsorship when he finished his last Corbett many years later.
  19. The cairn is at a popular tourist spot. It had to be repaired after a lorry backed into it!
  20. Tha thu cac agus tha fios agad gu bheil thu
  21. Orange Maid looks a bit dodgy ?
  22. I remember when I used to teach, you always got people asking "is this in the exam?" No? "Then why are we doing it?" You must have been one of them ? Every day is a school day. If you're not interested in the meaning of the place names all around you, and the history/culture of your country, I can't help you. It's a minor miracle that the language survives at all considering the efforts to stamp it out in the 18th century. Just as an aside, BBC Alba does a magnificent job on its other programmes, e.g. Eorpa and other documentaries. It shows what a small channel can do on what is probably a fraction of Gary Lineker's salary. We've been having a good laugh at the antics of Sweeney Ness on "Air an Lot" as we buy meat from him. Mind you I kind of agree about the stadium announcements being a bit gimmicky. If anything I suppose it will go a little way towards making our mark as a true Highland club which at the moment our neighbours are doing better.
  23. A bit nearer home
  24. I'm beat ? Got to be around Camusterrach. That's Dun Can on Raasay from the west. Can't find your viewpoint though. I'm beginning to think you've photoshopped in a couple of headlands. If there's a picnic table I'm assuming you can drive to it but can't find it on GSV. Changed my mind, had another look. Tingle Creek Hotel, Erbusaig I reckon. I'm away to do something useful now.
  25. Has the wee man got it? It's quite near Kilchurn Castle so I thought you knew the area well ?
