  1. Just found out about this: Either this is an ingenious way of getting more paying away fans through the gates or they are really worried about having a small crowd for their SPL opener For those involved in organising supporters buses, is this a feasible way to get more away fans through the gates?

I think that Aberdeen could still be in the mix for relegation, they have only signed two players in Hayes and McGinn and they have undoubtedly improved their attacking options but defensively they have lost McArdle, Mawene, and Arnason who i think they will miss considerably I reckon it will be between Dundee, St Mirren, Hibs, us and County with Aberdeen marginally topping that list

just found this on the Brora website:

Only thing i have heard about this game is that it was 5-0, Owain Tudur Jones played, not sure if he got the whole match but he is now in a fitness battle to make the St Midden game
  5. Foran is suspended for this Saturdays game and i think he will be a huge loss given his impressive defensive showings in pre-season. Heard that OTJ is doubtful as well so based on that then i would imagine we would go with something along these lines: ----ESSON---- ----RAVEN----WARREN----KING----SHINNIE---- ----DRAPER--------MORRISON/ROSS---- ROSS/SUTHERLAND--------SHINNIE--------DORAN ----MCKAY----
  6. Is there any way ICT can offer tie-in deals with other companies/attractions in the city? Examples could be show 4 ticket stubs and get a free meal somewhere or a discount on the bill. Or buy two adult tickets and get a 2 half price cinema tickets free. Likewise this could be reciprocated by the other party. A meal for 4 will get you half price entry for 4 into Caley Stadium? It would be beneficial for both parties and could potentially encourage families to get involved in that the men of the family could go to the football while the women could enjoy an afternoon at the gym or spa or shopping or suchlike? It could be applied to all sorts of organisations. Aquadome/leisure centre, ice rink, gyms, shops, restaurants, cinemas, eden court, dolphin tours, paintballing, spas, hotel stays.....etc. there could be numerous potential the finer details could all be ironed out between interested parties but getting more fans through the gates all be it on a slightly subsidised rate would be better than nothing
  7. Richie Foran?
  8. Terry said yesterday at the Q&A session after the game that there would be no further signings so i doubt it
  9. Not long back from the game. Took us a while to warm up and neither side settled into the game by the time Coventry were awarded a very soft penalty. We grew into the game and started to pass the ball a lot better as the game wore on. Was a good workout and the players look to be forming a good deal of understanding. Positives: - G Shinnie looking very dangerous as a marauding left back, he played a great attacking game and became more of a threat as the game wore on - Cooper had a really good game and showed maturity far beyond his years. A couple of defensive lapses but he was kept on track by a very supportive Meekings who directed him well. Showed a great deal of potential and i think will be a useful player far sooner than anyone predicted - Meekings looked pretty strong and effective at centre half and gives us an strong option to cover in that position - the overall fitness of the team looked good today - long ball tactics seem to finally be a thing of the past, a lot more quick passing on the deck which was a lot more pleasing to the eye. And effective! - sweet finish from Oswell. Hopefully he can be the natural goalscorer that we have missed since Rooney left. Time will tell - doran looking very sharp and fit Negatives: - Shane had a game to forget, never really got into the game. Mind you cant of been easy up against a very physical Kevin Kilbane - Slow start to the game but - some shocking challenges from the Coventry players. In particular the challenge on Raven and a few others on McKay, A Shinnie and Doran Definitely more plus points to todays game than negatives.
  10. Nor would I. As football tops go I much prefer the stoke away to our current home top
  11. If one day we ever venture away from Errea kits then something like this would definitely be on my shopping list. (and thats something considering i'm not usually one for buying football tops) Very nice looking kit IMO (its Stoke Away in case anyone didnt know)
  12. Done, interesting set of questions
  13. Sent you a DM CaleyD I knew there would be costs associated but had no idea whether it would make the idea unfeasible. I guess it all comes down to whether their are enough fans willing to contribute to offset the costs to run it.
  14. Havent read the entirety of this thread (probably should have) so apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere. But I thought of this idea and thought i'd air it on here anyway. This would be an easy and quick way for fans to give money to the club with minimal effort or fuss Quite often on television nowadays you see competitions run whereby a prize (more often than not cash/holiday/car) is offered and all the entrant has to do is text a 5 digit number with the answer to an incredibly easy question. The texts usually cost anything from £1.50 to £3.00 per entry and you can enter as many times as you want. If you think about the details behind the system I would imagine the money taken from text entries would be more than the prize is worth as long as the prize is desirable enough If ICT were to offer a season ticket as a prize and say entries were £2 a pop then surely we could muster more than 200 entries to turn in a profit? This could be done with any sort of prize (season ticket, new stip, day at hospitality, stadium tour, meet a player/manager etc) and could probably be run monthly. Properly marketed and advertised i'm confident this could be a potential money generator. Similarly this could be applied to donating money. A fund like 'Top up Terry's Transfer Tin' could be set up with the options of either dropping off cash/cheques to the stadium or by using the same text method as above. A 5 digit text number could be texted with the words 'DONATE 5' and £5 be donated to the club, or 'DONATE 10' and £10. many other clubs have used appeals to generate income, no reason why we cant No idea how much this would be to implement or indeed if it would be feasible but thought i would share it EDITED TO ADD: Ive found a company that offers this service so if a Mod or Site Admin wants the web address to forward on then feel free to DM for details
  15. Havent been to any pre-season games this season so hopefully the Coventry game will show what we can expect from the team Would love to see an attacking, free flowing game and i genuinely think if more teams were to adopt an entertaining style of football then attendances would definitely benefit Interesting to hear someone mention Pele earlier, games were full of drama and entertainment back then. The old school of thought that 'as long as we score more than you' was a great one IMO

  17. Its been a long time since I could honestly say that season tickets were value for money in the Scottish Football. Ticket prices in Scotland generally do not represent value for money due to the nature of our game (long ball games with little entertainment, over reliance on physicality, lacking in skill, flair or atmosphere) IMO entertaining games are free flowing, attacking, atmospheric, dramatic and noisy games and if they were more frequent then tickets may become better value for money and we may have more fans attending games. Sadly the days of these appear to be long gone
  18. impossible to grow tired of Stewartys second goal
  19. Think what was meant was 18 seniors and 6 young uns
  20. Think it might well have been actually
  21. Completely agree. Also i think having a load of loan players who's ultimate loyalty is back to their parent team cant help with creating a strong team ethic
  22. I remember someone having an avatar that was taken during a 10 minute intense blizzard that hit TCS a few seasons ago, think Mihadjuks was in the picture. Typical 4 seasons in one day on that particular day
  23. I'm certainly hoping that having the squad pretty much assembled a few weeks before the season starts mean that we hit the ground running this season. We were still adding faces to the team once the season started last year and this could not have aided team unity. Hopefully with a smaller group of players and a decent pre-season all together we can return to the days where ICT was about team unity, spirit and togetherness
  24. Just found this about King from 2007 If he can stay injury free then he may well be a decent acquisition. Not many of our current squad have commanded fees of £200k in their careers. May well be able to provide cover at left back as well
