  1. very good point, it can be a frustrating and annoying time when players move on to pastures new, but surely the situation we find ourselves in (i.e. needing to rebuild our squad) provides us with a great opportunity to build for the future and take in players to help grow the club. its time for Brewster and the board to prove they are capable of suceeding at an SPL club
  2. Ha ha! Not at all. Like I say I had a message from a Saints fan this morning asking about Bayne and I wondered why he was asking, Then reading your post made more sense. Makes it better to have the Bayne and Wyness stuff in here though I'm in two minds as to whether I should include the Black/Hibs rumour as well... ha ha, maybe it should be retitled 'Who's next to leave?' eeek, hadnt heard the Black rumour, maybe i dont want to :007: interesting article on setanta from yesterday with an article entitled: "Brewster in no rush over Wyness" it goes on to say.... "Craig Brewster has insisted he will hold talks with striker Dennis Wyness next week..........................Despite being aware that Wyness could head for pastures new, Brewster is in no rush to enter into talks." i hope his laid back approach means he has adequate replacemtns lined up....
  3. i noticed the title of the thread change, didnt mean to hijack your thread RiG, sorry :-[ If the player is pretty keen to move then i cant see the board holding out for too much, money now rather than zilcho in 6 months
  4. hardly a reliable source but: "Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has targeted ex-Manchester City winger Darren Huckerby after the 32-year-old was released by Norwich" (Daily Star)
  5. It says in the article that Dunfermline are leading the chase for Bayne but the Saints have already expressed an interest. The article states that Baynes wife is from fife and theyre looking to move back. Wyness and Dargo combo for the buddies next season, hmmmmm hopefully this doesnt come back to haunt us. So if all these rumours come off who ar we left with? Wood and McAllister up front? any strikers reading this forum want a game? :023:
  6. your not wrong! report in the daily express today saying that Bayne is looking to move south for family reasons with Dunfermline being a possible suitor. Wyness (likely), Bayne (looking more likely) and possibly Niculae all away this summer, big rebuilding job on the cards, lets hope Brewster is up to the task
  7. great news, good to see a decent team up for bazzas testimonial. are season ticket holders classed as a priority group?

    Ian Vigurs

thats what i thought, upon the closure of their youth system we signed 3 (iirc) youngsters of Vigurs was one of them. Good move if you ask me

  10. ive seen people post here about Marius' lack of pace and mobility (which personally i dont think detract too much from his playing ability) but every player is not perfect and you have to look at the bigger picture i.e. what benefits he brings to the game. did anyone see the rangers game last night? Christian Vieri was slow, lazy, ball greedy, immobile and couldnt finish a fish supper yet he's playing in a UEFA cup semi-final for a big european club. some people on here need a reality check. i say give the guy a break and our support and lay off all this criticism.
  11. ha ha, you're on fire :015:
  12. had a look on teletext, looks like brewster has approached his agent but he supposedly has other offers. brewster said: "i do not know how many clubs are in for him, but i do know i need goals in my team" fair enough if you ask me i always thought trialists could only be played within the host leagues transfer window, may be wrong though
  13. ive heard that from a couple of people. hope Brew can find an adequate replacement if true

    Steven Robb

daily express says we are favourites to sign Robb while the P and J says Brewster is not interested as we have zander. how strange to have conflicting stories in the press again :014:
  15. i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that Ridgers move was made permanent in the January transfer window. someone correct me if i'm wrong though
  16. my uncles brothers nephew heard that zidane was coming out of retirement and heading north :023:
  17. personally i find it easy enough to ignore the blue boxes and scrolling past them doesnt really take too much mental energy. :004:

Fraser Tokely Proctor Munro Hastings Duncan Black Vigurs Cowie Imrie Niculae With Cowie and Imrie basically playing as two wingers of a front three :022:
  19. i have to agree with Onward and Upward and Jay_7, i never felt comfortable when Zibi was in goals, if we have to invest in a new keeper (as opposed to a freebie) then i think it'll be worth it to secure a keeper who is not prone to mistakes, and many of them. Thanks Zibi but :sillywave:
  20. nakamura without a shadow of a doubt, one trick pony, take away his free-kicks and what are you left with?

    Don Cowie

You are quite right. I can only recall Golly, Hastings & Rankin in recent times getting 3 year deals. The club needs to sit down with Cowie, Fraser, Munro, Black and even Niculae and get them on long(er) deals. They are the backbone of the team and the fact they will all be out of contract at the end of next season is bound to attract the attention of a few clubs. We should be acting now rather than the farce of not starting negotiations till the end of January :029: absolutely! but will it happen? i'm highly doubtful. Either contract discussions will be left til the last minute or the player will be told to prove he merits a new contract even if he is a key member of the squad! the way contracts have been dealt with this year have been incredible, first rankin then duncan then wyness. not to mention niculae or any of the players out of contract in the summer

    Don Cowie

like it or not thats football for you. being offered lots more money at a bigger firm/company/organisation, i wonder what i would do :024: makes you wonder why so many of our players are on such short contracts, we only ever seem to hear of players getting 2 year deals so when a player has a good season, 6 months later teams can approach them on a pre-season contract. certainly hope chipper stays, he has been a very good player for us since his arrival

    Team for Hearts

and some kerr-isma, i'll get my coat :029:

    Team for Hearts

spot on, but as mentioned else where, i think its about time to start blooding the youngsters so either Vigurs, gillespie or kerr to come on at some point, for more than 2 minutes as well
  25. is this thing still going on!
