They are top of the League below.
I too thought/hoped they would suffer a monumental collapse after xmas. But...it pains me to say it....they deserve to come up. If only Dundee and Falkirk had made more of a fist of it

Safety reached, well done Tel
I dont think injuries etc are the reason why ICT have struggled all season...is the mostly sh1te football they have been serving up that is to blame. The fooball i have seen this year has been as dire as anything i have ever seen. Ive seen far better performances down the bught in the summer!

Rebuild this Summer or Not?
Admitedly I have only seen our TV games, but from what I've seen leaves me feeling a bit sorry for Tade. He rarely gets the opportunity to create, he doesn't benefit from midfelders making space for him and he spends a great deal of time chasing lost causes. the bloke deserves a medal. Exactly.....the level of service being provided is ZERO.....he has to run about like a headless chicken, chasing lost causes, and thats what he does...so fair play to him

Alex...i know we will STILL get the odd game on tv here and there....as we have always done whilst in The SPL. The TV channles are morally obliged to spread the coverage. But its not going to generate the income you seem to be suggesting. I doubt we will see any increase on that front. Make no bones about it....apart from novelty value for the first game next season, ICT vs Ross County has no more mass appeal to tv stations than a Motherwell V Hamilton game would have

The only derby game television is interested in is Old Firm. They dont really televise Hearts v hibs or Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd......so i cant see them being intrested in an insignificant highland derby with very limited appeal

Explain. please. Al give you an example of what im on about. The last time i went to see u2 play in glasgow, the gig was not a sell out. Why? because there was another big draw on that same night in the same city, in the shape of Celtic Vs Arsenal in the Champs League qualifier. Thing is tho, the attendance was hit in that game also...as u2 were in town. had there not been the distraction of the football on...then u2 wouldnt have any competiton that night for income and the same is true for the fooball Point being....when ICT are in the SPL on their own, they are the biggest draw and focus in the area. Bring another equally as appealing lure into the frame, ICT are not as tasty a lure as once they were. Money from advertising, sponsorship, backing from the business community will now be more split than ever. Still struggling to comprehend??....ok...think whats going to happen to Tesco when Asda comes to town! I take your point regarding sponsorship and advertising and this MAY take a slight dip. But I really don't see large amounts of ICT fans suddenly deciding to support RC and going over the bridge. Theres a lot of Nuetrals who float between ICT and Ross County, just to watch a game of football. Im not talking thousands here...but they do exist. At the mo....they are probably more inclined to go watch the SPL team. With it looking like County coming up, i wouldnt blame them if they made County theri priority to watch...considering the bile being offered up as football by ICT. But that aside....im talking more of the backing we get from sponsors, and business community at the mo. With county being in the same league as ICT, they are not going to be the lesser option any longer.

County coming up, which sadly looks likely, spells BAD news for ICTs finances. you wait and see.

The old Caley v Leicester City friendly.
Ooh...and one of my wee fve bits of trivia for y'all.....Kevin was an ex pupil of Inverness High School. My old PE teacher told us one day that Kevin is the only person he ever heard off, being sent off, in a game of.................BADMINGTON lol

The old Caley v Leicester City friendly.
I dont think theres any arguing about it. For my money, he had the most illustrious career. Capt of leicester City. Played in Liverpools double winning team (might have even been a european cup final appearance too. Think he was even Capt of Coventry for a while too....not to mention Managing Aston Villa in the modern day EPL. Only blot on the landscape was his time playing for Rangers 2012 lol OBVIOUSLY tho....the high point would have been playing for the mighty Caledonian Fc!!

The Scottish Football Debate
I agree, its not a problem Specific to Scotland/Uk.....but it seems to be more problematic here. The likes of Holland, Spain, Germany, Italy, Japn, USA not too mention a whole heap of African nations seem to be able to advance while the Scottish game goes into a slump. The children in most of these nations are subject to the same distractions, yet The kids in the countries seem more motivated to get off their asses and participate in physical activities.....in Scotland/UK, the game manufacturers seem to be winning and have a firm grip on Children

The Scottish Football Debate
Im suprised no one has mentioned the two progs shown on BBC1 Scotland on Mon and Tues regarding the shambolic state of the Scottish game. I thought it may have sparked debate on here if nothing else. Well...my point is .............and its one that wasnt mentioned once (that I heard), and its a serious problem, which i think is contributing heavily to the decline of standards in the scottish game. And it is..........COMPUTER games/internet. Think about it.....how many kids in UK, as a whole, are sat glued to a screen of some description these days, instead of being out with a football? I know its largely true of my 3 kids and most of there freinds too. I really think that is a major factor in the demise of the game
-
Style of play
You watch ANY top team (who are usually pleasing to watch if nothing else) they play the majority of the game on the deck. I was watching the Scottish football debate progs at the start of the week, and the general consensus was that the long ball game is dead almost everywhere......apart from Scotland. And they are right. Long ball is usefull as a tactic to try change a game, but not as an entire game plan.

Butcher OUT?
What i will say is....I dont think we will progress under Butcher. I cant help but draw comparrisons with our time under brewster's leadership, and that was as dire as any football i have ever seen served up by an Inverness team. I have yet to see anything to suggest that things might improve
- Chelsea need a new boss

Proctor relies on 6th sense P&J article
You mean...he sees dead people? That will explain why hes been chasing ghosts all season!

Under whos leadership?

ICT -V- Rangers
It pleases me to say Don that you are in fact WRONG in questioning my part about Board members or anyone else picking the team. I THINK i am correct in saying i didnt state ONE opinion on that matter...in fact...i dont even remember reading such a thread! ICTs strength was always in making a few changes each season and not going for wholesale changes. Butcher has thrown that philosophy out the window. Id say the amount of dross he has brought in in his time hear vastly outnumbers the amount of quality players he has brought in, but that of course. is just my own opinion. Also.....the football being served up for the most part, is utter PISH, as poor and directionless as it was under brewster
-
ICT -V- Rangers
The Good times will not return under the leadership of Butcher, Im pretty sure of that. He has ripped the heart out of the club with his insistance to do things his way....and the result is, things are as dire as they ever were for ICT fans. But the players have to shoulder blame too...as they are supposed to be Professional, and in the dozen or so games i have seen them this season, they have been pathetic and lacked desire, passion and effort. I am a realist, and while i would concede, ICT are currently roughly in the position i would expect them to be.......id be a lot happier if they were to get beat...they did so with at least a bit of fight about them
-
ICT -V- Rangers
Ah well then......that makes everything ok. id rather they put in a decent shift during the 90 mins that count each week. they have been disturbingly bad everytime i have seen them this season.
-
ICT -V- Rangers
I have to say.....the football i have seen on show this season....is as dire as anything i have ever seen from an ICT team. Really Bleak...no wonder punters are staying away...they are not being entertained!
