  1. I heard inside info months ago that this was going to happen...from sources working on the case. No shock to me. I also watched a BBC Inside Scotland specail, some months ago, and it was suggesting this is EXACTLY what Rangers owner would bizzarely be wanting to happen. And here it is, hes got his way. Question is...what happens next to Rangers?
  2. Im not to dissapointed. As poor a celtic side as they are (compared to teams of yesteryear) they are still the best team in Scotland. I dont expect much from playing either OF team. Its the nitty gritty games where we need to take our points, against the other scrappers in the league. So , everything considered....i will take a 1-0 defeat

heres my own tale. I supprted ICT ALL the way thro the lower leagues, right up to and including winning promotion to the SPL. Since then, I dont think i have been to more than a handfull of games. my circumstances just dont allow it. I simply cant justify the admission price. Its ironic that since we reached the upper eschelons of Scottish Football, i seem to have lost a fair bit of interest in the game. Anytime i do watch them now, mostly on tele or listen on radio....im pretty much bored to death. I have gone on record before as saying....id rather lose every game and feel entertained, than feel ripped off and let down. At the end of the day, I firmly believe that ICT should realistically be getting gates of about 6000. But...footie seems to be dying on its ass in Scotland....and that seems to be passing everyone by. The question is....WHY and what can be done?
  4. Dismissing something, coz it didnt pay off while Playing lesser teams is not a good judge of whether something would work or not. Have to try it across the board. If i was chairman of ICT....id be happier taking in £60k with 5000 bums on seats than i would taking in £60k with 4000 bums on seats.
  5. ONLY hope of getting bums on seats is to DRASTICALLY cut admission prices for adults. Desperate times call for desperate measures. It should be about survival at the cost of profit!
  6. It must be getting near the time when some teams are going to have to go part time due to lack of income? All things aside, I think we would see more fight from a bunch of part timers than we saw from ICT yesterday. As for lack of atmosphere, NOTHING your going to do is going to change the reserved and apathetic nature of the people in the highlands. thats a FACT!
  7. I heard the Stadium Announcer yesterday and thought Rev I.M. Jolly Mk II. What a dour individual he is! You can put on all the peripheral entertainment you want, when all is sed and done, its the team on the pitch that get the crowd motivated. Im afraid, that watching ICT play is like watching paint dry these days. Hence the dour atmos and poor crowds. People want to be entertained.
  8. I totally agree. The whole game is based around scoring goals. By playing one up front, your automatically halving the amount of chances your likely to create. I DESPISE seeing teams playing one up front, especially at home. Playing one up front seemed to be the fashion a few seasons back, but i thought the game had moved on. ICT have NEVER suited this lumping the ball forward which has crept into our game under our managers since brewster. You watch the footie on offer of the top teams in the EPL......the majority of the game is played on the deck.
  9. The commentators were also highlighting Procs failure to pick up the runner.
  10. If in doubt...punt it out (especially in the position he found himself in). To then lose the ball, and FOOLISHLY try to tackle from behind....IN THE PENALTY BOX, well....asking for trouble, to put it mildly!
  11. Good to know im not alone in my views. My fear is....once Johnny goes in the summer, which im pretty sure he will, its going to get a hell of a lot more boring too. Johnny seems to be the only one in that team prepared to run at and take on players. ICT used to be blessed with such players in the past.
  12. I have seen ICT about half a dozen times this season, and every time, even including victories, the football on show seemed to be pretty aimless stuff a lot of the time. Also, there seems to be a lack of fight and craft. I think Butcher has taken the heart out of the club with his intention of messing with the formula that served us so well in the past. Am i being unfair?
  13. They arent....this is the most average Celtic team in the last 25 odd yrs. They are there for the taking
  14. HT....certainlly not out of it yet. Need to harrass Cellic more on the ball. They really dont like that. Just need to keep chipping away at them. We deffo looking ropy at the back. A few times in the first half we tried to play our way out of defence. Thats a big no no in my book. We were lucky to get away with it a few times
  15. Terrible defending and goalkeeping involved in the Cellic goal!
  16. Did anyone else see the Inside Scotland special a few months back, about Craig Whyte. He has made his fortune by bankrupt businesses. the reprter was bsically saying tht they thought Whyte stood to profit should Rangers go down the tubes and maybe this is what he is angling for. Mad....but true

  18. "Slightly off topic but Parkhead is the only away game we dont even think about going to because of the prices. £26 each for me and a 16yr old still at school and then £17 for a child plus travel and food is far too expensive for 90 mins entertainment" Exactly....i think theres one reason and one reason only why attendances are in decline. Admission Prices are shockingly expensive for what you get. Then again, someone has to cover the costs of the excessive wages in the game in general.
  19. Cant just go pying certain players way more than others. It causes resentment and division. Stick to the wage structure.....if Johnny goes...so be it, i reckon he may well regret it, for all sorts of reasons As footballers they should be glad to get to play with a player of his quality and shouldn't care about what wages he's on Very simplistic view that. You put Johnny Hayes on a higher contract...its human nature that others will want the same

  21. Me too. We got away with it a lot more in the lower leagues then we would now. We were able to plunder the BEST Highland League players, when the HL was still a good standard. Now....its not better the amatuer leage at the bught, in fact, a few who play that also played for HL teams! I just dont see the quality of player we would require coming along too often up these parts
  22. Oh.....AND stretching our unbeaten run. Still, shame we couldnt knick full points, as we would have been sitting in 7th place.
  23. Positives = Third clean sheet in a row AND stretching our lead over bottom two!
